Commandos Pre-Season Game 1 Thread
 

I don't have NFL Network, so I won't even be able to watch the replay later.

This is a must-win game. I'm just kidding, but it would be cool to win the 1st game under new ownership, even if it doesn't count.

As always, staying healthy is the truly only important thing for every week of pre-season.

What I'm following the most this pre-season: What Khaleke Hudson and Cody Barton are looking like. Who/What you got?

Linebackers and o-line is definitely a concern, I'm hearing good things but we need to see it in action to believe it.

Rooting for no major injuries as always. Hope to see some solid drives from our starting guys, a good rhythm TD drive for the offense and a nice stop for the D.

Would like to see our mascot rough up their QB. Tuddy v. Tuggy.

Ok, seriously I’d like to see Howell show command of the huddle and play with some poise. And then get out. Want to see the O line hold up and LBs as well, as others have said; will be curious to see some of the intriguing rookies - Rodriguez, Forbes, Martin - flash too.

I'll be watching Howell and Forbes closely. I'm also hoping to see Chase Young flash with a big play or two and I want to see Antonio Gibson get the ball in space and take it to the house. Don't let me down, guys.

Listening doesn't sound good so far Bates wide open but drops ball - but oline held anyway because of pressure. Next snap sacked on 1st and 20 and Howell is sacked under quick pressure. Reports of their poor play in practice seem to be continuing in this game.

Good goal line stance at 1 - Heroes Forbes (3rd and 1) and Sweat (4 and 1 tackle for loss). And that is all the play by play I'll do.

I honestly think right tackle should consider another option at this point. Frankly Wiley looks worse than what we had last year

One issue to keep in mind was that Cleveland started pulling their starters prior to the Skins first TD drive. Pass blocking against their 1st string was really bad.

Halftime opinion: starting offense has poor line blocking, Wiley was bad, screens were bad, no legitimate running attack, a tad slow getting to the line, passes were slightly off. Probably could use 29 play scripting for every game for a while. Defense not as good as hoped. Although no blunders, Watson had an easy time scrambling through the middle. No blown coverage but a lot of 2nd and 5s. Browns simply blew it as they had 7 in the bag. The 2nd teams though were quite different. Our depth shows as our backup d ends are really good. We didnt see enough of the running game in my opinion, but perhaps they are working on pass protection and passing. Chris Rodriguez at rb looks like a lock as the guy is fast and had quick and clear vision. Our te's have iffy hands, Bates is a blocker and drips, but so did our other guy with the pick/fumble six that was called back. Howell did not move the needle, nor did brissette. At least Howell didn't do anything stupid like Jacoby who is not supposed to. In general it seems the defensive players know where to be. I do not believe that is true of the online or dyami brown/brissette. I believe the starting online should work for 3 quarters from here on out. They looked bad. I don't know if brown is our 4the receiver anymore. I believe it should be Pringle. And next would be the best returner. To me Wiley and dyami brown are stock down. Stock up are backup d ends and rodrigues

Our 2nd rounder, quan martin looks like a backup. I was hoping he'd be on the field faster with the starters. Not sure he's ready
