We've all waited a long time for this. For some of us, myself included, this was a dream from childhood / teenage years, that was now finally realized as adults. What a long time coming.

No words. The nightmare is finally over. For everyone who wished and hoped for this moment, I hope we all can enjoy it. People can put aside their differences about the team / name / whatever and just enjoy this day for what it is. The best thing to happen to DC sports in DECADES. Maybe EVER.

My wife never missed a chance, over our several decades of marriage, in social situations where conversation moved through politics, the arts, technology, religion, and economics, to tell people, “You know, the only thing my husband REALLY cares about is the Redskins.”

This is great news but I’m not celebrating (again) until the ink has dried on the contract. Per various media reports, we still have a few months to go before it is official. I’m sure this will happen, but I don’t like the fact that a hedge fund mgr is part of the ownership group.

The contract is signed. There is no way the owners don't approve this. It's a record price by more than a billion dollars, it's a good group, and the other owners want Snyder gone. My hesitation was always with Snyder actually signing the fucking deal.

Update: The NFL has scheduled a special owners' meeting for July 20 for consideration of the Commanders sale and a potential vote, source says. The league notified the owners in a memo late Thursday. Revised story coming momentarily.

July 20 will be one of the best days in franchise history. Cannot wait to be rid of the stench of Snyder. Finally. He’s about my age and I thought I’d be stuck with him for my lifetime which was a really depressing thought. What a frigging relief.
