Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
[YT]j2WD1SJiRjo[/YT]
It was a tough one this week - credit where it's due because from the 2nd quarter through the last 5 min of the 4th quarter I one hundred percent thought we were gonna lose this game. I think Heinicke is limited as a pro qb and he can win but not if he has to put the game on his shoulders and do it all by himself. Case in point - the Giants consistently put pressure on him today and had him flustered when it mattered most. I also think the coaching staff doesn't trust him and his vision on throws 10+ yards down the field - otherwise why call these WR screens and draw plays on long third downs? Fucking Danny Jones - how do we manage to make this guy look great every year? They need to do some serious film study on how to stop the RPO because they look like ass defending it. I'm sure there's more but in this moment it's just a disappointing day. Our stud D got their asses whipped most of the day - at one point they had 4 consecutive scoring drives which is infuriating for a supposed top ten unit. |
Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
Letting Giants get 5 sacks, the Oline not doing a good enough job. We left too many plays on the field even after an ok day. The miss TD to Logan is an easy throw.
The defense on the road hold to 20 in ot, good job. Containing Tranny was an issue. Jamin Davis needs a player beside him, getting zero from 2 LB sets. Offseason needs to include Oline and LB |
Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
Agree we need a QB that can carry the team, and it's not Wentz. But we ride TH as far as he can take us this year, and if that's the playoffs, then great. Who knows?
But going into NY and coming away 1/2 a game better off than losing isn't a terrible result. Should beat them at home in 2 weeks. Imagine how the Giants feel right now? |

Heinicke/Wentz = Not very good
Turner = Not very good Offensive Line = An abomination to trying to pass the football The line sucks so bad at pass protection, it makes me 2nd guess how bad the OC/QBs are. Leno is 1 lucky fuck, Heinicke somehow didn't fumble that ball in OT. |

LOL, considering the no names they are playing with they feel fine. With your D and WR and RV weapons(S) I would think it's the Commanders who are upset. You should have beaten an inferior team. |
Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
No shit talking in a tie.

Coaching staff and QB makes it even. With that said, there's a rematch and I feel quite good about it. |

I wasn't talking to you specifically. It was a general statement about all of us. There's a reason I didn't post my comment as a reply to yours. |

Leno got lucky on both accounts. Heinicke somehow didn't fumble, and he wasn't less than a yard further back. |
Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
This is was all Casey Toohill's fault.

The football gods smiled at us on that play - Heinicke isn't the guy you want getting blindsided by a massive DE. |

Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
Very good game, frustrating tie.
We're not going to beat down anybody so we gotta win those close winnable games. And we had a shot, and contrary to the last few games we didn't need a flukish turnover or a stupide playcall by the opposing team to win. This was a legitimately close contested game and we couldn't close it out because we're limited at QB and our Oline isn't as good as I thought. I know we have some injuries on that front, but between the crucifying holding penalties and the blown pass protect, our big men didn't have a good game at all. Defense did its job imo, take away what they got attacking our 7th round pick CB Christian Holmes and that's a dominant performance. My man Danny Johnson with 3 solid plays at the end of regulation (sack, pass defended (good no call) and almost INT (should've had it but we know he's not a ball hawk)) ! Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
Oh and on the drive where Thomas had that excruciating holding penalty, a couple of drives before they tied, Jahan Dotson had an amazing play where he managed to slow down 2 defenders just enough to give Heinicke time to throw it... To him and he got the first down... Loved that play!

NFL games should not end in ties. Now our record is going to look weird the rest of the season.

Exactly, yeah it was underthrown but he was goin back to the ball.. The NFL hates us man |
Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
We need a real OC, and a better arm under center. Taylor either overthrows or under throws every third pass he throws. And Scott Turner is so lucky that he was ever even allowed to be on an NFL staff.

Our Oline cannot pass pro, out OC is only in the league because of his father, and our quarterback has a noodle arm. That being said we would have won if not for that PI being picked up and I never bitch about the refs. |

Every pass Heinicke throws is a wild card pass. Never know where that shit will land. He scares the daylights out of me every time the ball leaves his hand. Wentz's passes don't scare me, but every time he drops back he terrifies me in the pocket. QB1 next year is either Howell or not on the roster yet. |
Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
Most of you brother posters are acting like whiney bitches over the tie. The tie at their place was fine. Now we just need kick their butts at our place in two weeks.
Also, why are some of you so hung up on our weaknesses? That's practically the theme of this entire thread. Let's see if I can guess one of those problem areas after reading about them approximately ten thousand times on this site: TH is not a true starting QB in the NFL. He has a weak arm. Is that right? I agree. So what? There is no better option for us right now. We can worry about the starting QB position going forward in the offseason. Fortunately, Taylor is also one of the better backup QB's in the NFL. He is super smart, has above average athletic ability, is positively relentless and gutsy, gets better at managing the game each week, inspires his teammates, and maximizes all of his skills and character traits in game after game. That is all we have a right to ask from him. As for our other weaknesses, or challenges, the coaches and FO are doing the best they can to keep us competitive. I'm satisfied about where we are right now and I'll be thrilled if we make the playoffs. |
Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
Both Teams remaining schedule
NYG = EAGLES , WSH , VIKINGS , COLTS , EAGLES WAS = NYG , SF , BROWNS , DALLAS It's most likely going to come down to who wins in WSH for the playoffs. SF will win the west even with Purdy IMO because their DEF is legit. Week 18 The Cowboys will most likely be locked into a WC spot so they will prob sit their starters |
Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
It was nice seeing Dotson involved again yesterday. He is going to be an absolute stud. We will have one of the better groups going into next year with McLaurin, Dotson, and Samuel.

Seahawks get the Panthers at home this week, which is likely a W. But their next 3 are the 9ers, Chiefs, Jets. Hopefully they lose 2 out of 3 of those. |

If this was JJ , Lamb , ETC that's a PI all day. Terry gets no love[/quote] It's a close call , I don't like all the ticky tack stuff and believe in letting em play. But the ref threw the flag. If you threw it then how can you pick it up? Someone talked him out of it. Didn't like that at all. In general PI has become a joke. It cheapens the game when you can just throw the ball up and it's basically 50-50 whether they call a flag. That's video game shit. It shouldn't be a spot foul. It should be 15 yards like in college. |

Re: Mandos vs. Vagiants post game thread pt1
As far as the playoffs go, win your games and don't depend on anyone else. You should earn your way in, not depend on anyone or anything else.
This team is just so flawed. It is what it is. |

Throwing up a 40-yard prayer and getting a first down on an opponent's 1 yard-line on a cheap call is ridiculous. Especially late in a game. It also makes me a bit suspicious of the NFL's cozy relationship with gambling houses. |
