Payne and Allen are awesome. Slye is becoming Mr Automatic. Got another winnable game next week. Things are starting to get interesting. Go Vikings.

Another great effort by defense, what an amazing turnaround they have done.Anemic effort on offense, thank God for that interception to get us going. For a defense that can’t stop the run they sure did a good job on us.Vanilla Gorilla with another dumb ass play, if I was Rivera I would fine him for being such a dumbass

You can rip the vanilla gorilla rookie, hopefully the coaches will get on his ass. I have a feeling he’s going to make a difference down the road. |
Re: Houston has a problem post game
D-line great . . . D not so great whiffing on 4th downs (0 for 4). Not that the yeehaw’s were threatening on offense . . . just badly wanted to see a TO on downs!
Does anyone else think TH is getting too used to extending every pass play? Is Turner really not giving him quick targets to hit? |
Re: Houston has a problem post game
Is CY going to play next week? If he does I’d limit him to very little. I’d rather have him healthy for the NYG games

https://www.commanders.com/video/let-s-re-focus-victory-speech
I love it. On paper the win looked real easy but there is definitely room for improvement. To see Allen talking about "let's not wait until we lose to re-focus, let's re-focus now" - I absolutely love to see it. We beat the teams like the Texans that we should be beating, but the Falcons are on a better level than the Texans so we need to elevate our game to match them. I love how this team is playing right now - they just need to make some minor tweaks and they will be fine. |
Re: Houston has a problem post game
You want to see why Rivera named TH the starter, here's why:
In 6 games Wentz was sacked 23 times In 5 games TH has been sacked 9 times |

If it wasn't for the injury, Rivera would probably still be playing Wentz. |

In 6 games Wentz was sacked 23 times In 5 games TH has been sacked 9 times
Pretty much sums it up. His bad plays are drive killers, he missed too many easy throws and gets happy feet. Throwing some really good deep balls doesn't make you a good QB. You have to be able to do so many other things well to be effective. I knew this wasn't going to work w/ him. Just knew it. Howell, TH and maybe another vet. That would have been the best way to go. Instead? 28 million down the drain. |
Re: Houston has a problem post game
TH threw some good balls to 82. Good to see him get back into the offense. Dotson has been a non factor. Need to get him going again.

Re: Houston has a problem post game
So, let's assume this is preseason and you are told that your team will start out 2-4, with wins over lowly Jax and Chicago, and losses to Detroit, Philly, Dallas, and Tennessee. And then a change in QB gives you wins over Green Bay, Indy, Philly, and Houston with a tough winnable loss to the 8-1 Vikings, resulting in av 6-5 record and playoff contention. And even though the QB at the helm was not a first-round draft choice (like the 2-4 QB making $25+MM/year), or any draft choice, for that matter, would you want to move off the current Qb at $4.75MM for TWO years or look for a costly upgrade because the virtue-signaling optics are better. You guys are freaking NEVER happy. You are getting the deal of the century with Heinicke, a COVID QB, but the KAREN in you cannot be happy because it is unconventional and organic, and against "expert analysis".
Enjoy the ride with a kid that plays hard for the right reasons. The defense is awesome, the TE's and receivers are awesome, and the QB knows who butters his bread, and that is #17. If one were to ask McLaurin with whom he wants to play, CW never gave him enough chances. Heinicke maybe too many. But your stud is your stud, and TH does just that. Please keep trying to "upgrade" one of the few QBs in two decades to actually excite the fanbase and achieve some results, but for the KARENS and DARRINS that post here, it just does not look good enough for these fools to impress their elite friends when drinking shitty wine and pontificating about how much better things could be. Go get bent. |

Who doesn’t? |

I think TH does bring a energy to this team for sure but he will never be the "guy" at QB to bring any franchise great success. It's a feel good story for sure but much like Rudy in the end TH just isn't enough. What sucks about a TH is he can fool a franchise and come draft day it hurts, that is when you pass by a Justin Herbert because you got your "guy" at QB. TH is no franchises long term solution, we are winning because of our D. |
Re: Houston has a problem post game
Our QB of the future is either Howell or not on the roster yet. No way we should go into next year with the same 3 QBs. Draft another guy. Let Heinicke, Howell, and possibly the other drafted QB battle it out in the off-season. Hopefully Howell can win it.
|
Re: Houston has a problem post game
Yeah we are winning because of defense and the run game and in spite if our limitations in the passing game. TH is better than Wentz because he helps hide our weak ass pass pro by moving. He doesn’t see the field well at all and has a weak arm.
You can win with defense and a strong run game but it doesn’t mean we don’t need a quarterback going forward. |
Re: Houston has a problem post game
Game was over at 7-0.
This defense is dangerous. |

We have real good wr’s, but at some point you need a quarterback who can throw down field and see the field. I have no problem with Taylor as a backup, but if you think he is good enough to make us serious contenders than maybe you need to drink better wine. |
Re: Houston has a problem post game
I don't get to say this often, but I had a GREAT football weekend!
1) Washington finally beat a team we were supposed to, and by a good margin. 2) The Gamecocks beat #5 Tennesse. Game balls for everybody!!! |

I'd like to see Howell play in a meaningful game. If we continue to win I doubt we will see him in anything meaningful. I have reservations that he is the real deal though, if he was he'd be playing. For as much shit as we give Turner and rightfully so he does know football. I imagine him and Ken Zampese talk regularly and Scott knows whether or not Howell knows the playbook. |

He is like sandtrap but worse. Shows up only when Heineken wins and the guy plays for the same team. Lol. Apparently he is under the impression that Taylor is the reason we win. Lol. Taylor has a great attitude and can move unlike Wentz, but cost us the Vikings game with an awful throw, starts slow every week, cannot see the field well, and has a weak ass arm. |

I would also like to see him play, but only for a short period of time. If we something happens and we aren't winning with Wentz or TH, he's not going to get us a W either. I would give him another full offseason and take a look at him next year. |
