Jags Postgame
It was a roller coaster ride…
28 points and could have been more. I love the WRs we have! All are studs. AG played well too. Wentz had 2 horrible INTs and he can’t do that weekly but he was clutch I’ll give him that. 1-0 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Jags Postgame
The first int by Wentz was bad…that second one was just bang bang, great play by that rookie.
I like the play calling today…I liked the pressure we put on Lawrence. Players who stood out: Forrest, Payne, the receivers, Gibson, Wentz Things that worried me: the LB play. It’s bad. The injuries: Wes and Phid. We need both of them That pass interference call on Fuller was insane garbage. Refs should be fined for calls like that. |

Yeah Allen was… Do you think Rivera told Turner to go conservative in the second quarter? I noticed they seemed to tone it down middle game. I could be seeing shit…I don’t know |

He’s legit. Samuel is as well. I take back my shit talk on him. He was amazing today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I could be seeing shit…I don’t know
Definitely felt like they took their foot off the gas once they were up 14-3. I'm happy we won but definitely got things to improve on. The LB play - I feel like Cole Holcomb is just a plan B typa player - and how many times do we have to see Jamin Davis lined up on a slot WR to realize it's a bad idea. Also that PI on Bobby McCain was horseshit - since when are DB's not allowed to make a play on the ball. Feels like the refs were calling everything today on both sides. Hope Mathis is ok - that didn't look good at all. Forrest had some lowlights but he also had some real highlights, felt like he made more plays on the ball than Fuller who looked rough. |
Re: Jags Postgame
This game was won by Riverboat Ron. The 3rd and 8 td pass call was pure balls. I was expecting run up the middle to work the clock and set up kicker

Re: Jags Postgame
On a completely separate note, I just ran into Alex Smith at my towns local market (he lives within walking distance). Nicest dude - says hi to everyone and knows all the folks that work there by name. Totally down to earth. I asked if he watched any of the games today and told him my allegiance. He just smiled and said “Hail.” Effing awesome.

Wentz can make all the throws … the Good and the Bad but he is way better than what we have had .. the refs kept jags in game .. PI was bs

Re: Jags Postgame
Fun game. Right outcome. Love the new offense. Finally a fun, exciting product. Haven't seen receivers that open for us in years. Wentz can make all the passes. The pass to McLaurin was bigtime for a td. Not worried about the ints. Freak play on the 2nd one. Very happy about this victory. Bring on Detroit!

Re: Jags Postgame
Our O is loaded, WR's, TE's, RB's, not sold on Wentz. Love Armani Rogers, want to see what Cole Turner brings, Bates threw some damn good blocks, Thomas is back. Want to see more of a balanced offense when Robinson comes back, more running (Wentz is Jekyll and Hyde and overthrows a lot)

McLaurin + Dotson = Boner
By the end of the season, they'll be in the discussion as a top 5 duo. |
Re: Jags Postgame
Forrest went straight Forest Ham today...

Re: Jags Postgame
The good: we won
The bad: we probably shouldn't have. It's gonna be a long year with our absolute hole in the middle of the field on d. Did anyone notice that through the first 2 quarters it seemed like they didn't wanna hand off to Gibson outside the red zone? |

Watching at a not great angle at a bar, thought it was Gibson. Was thinking, wow, that's just unreal. Wasn't him. And he played absolutely fantastic today. Happy for him. |
Re: Jags Postgame
The offense has nice weapons, although I was surprised we didn't see much of McLaurin today. Dotson showed why we drafted him in the first round. Wentz showed us he is far better than Heinicke and can win us some games, but he might also lose a few games for us.
Mixed results from the defense. Sweat was quiet. Forrest made some nice plays! Allen was his normal self, hope his injury isn't serious. |

Yea Gibson had a great game. Not taking that away...but it seemed like through the first 2 quarters they were spreading him out and using him as a receiver, and not handing it to him. They were running more trick plays giving the ball to Samuel in the backfield ...then like 10 minutes or so into the 2nd they started using Gibson in thr backfield outside of the rz.....at least that's what it seemed like? |

Re: Jags Postgame
Although we won, I feel that B. Robinson would have greatly contributed to today's game. We had no running game and Gibson had no push between the tackles. Can't wait to have B.Rob out there.

Trey Lance kinda reminded me of Colin Krapernick. Which isn’t a great thing

The potential for this offense is sky high

Re: Jags Postgame
Pros-WRs, Wentz for most of game, Forrest did a good job replacing Curl
Cons-D is still a sieve, JDR game call, I can't say Turner falls here completely but he went very conservative I felt (purely hot take I have no data to back it up) while up 14-3, I was flipping over to Ravens game a bit and up 17-3 they kept pushing the ball downfield, with our offensive talent that is a huge advantage. The first Wentz int definitely that was just bad. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gotta be honest - I think he was just being polite. Feels like he threw a lot of shade at the team in the last year or so because we doubted him after his injury. Which is natural - nobody had come back from an injury like that before. But he was a feel good story because he came back, not because he played great after he came back. I'm glad he's retired and healthy enough to play with his kids, but I don't think he likes us as much as we like him. |

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
The problem with that is the D would start to key in if Robinson only had running plays and Gibson had passing plays. Gotta keep them off-balance, mix it up a bit. I ain't gonna lie, sounds like we got lucky with B. Rob but if he comes back and looks gimpy coming off the injured list I'm gonna wonder if his playing style is gonna be impacted long term. RB's need a solid base to make plays from. |

I think Wentz showed exactly the QB he is. Some really good, some really bad and a whole lot of in-between.
