What do you do for a living and AMA thread
I noticed we dont have a thread where we can ask a question and see if a fellow warpather happens to be in that profession/employment.
In this thread, if you have a question you want to ask of a certain profession or employment (insurance question, landscaping, loan/financing, plumbing, deck repair etc) .. fire away, maybe someone can help. I am a car accident attorney in maryland so I can answer questions about an accident and general coverage issues like "am i covered if a tree falls on my car?" - answer "yes but only if you have comprehensive coverage, most people only have liability or collision". I have mice issues in my home, radon questions but I really need to speak with an auto body mechanic asap. 1. Is a hood, fender or door shell considered a "structural" component? |
Re: What do you do for a living and AMA thread
I tend to prefer to keep some anonymity on the internet for obvious reasons, but in regards to your question (per a body shop tech I know) those 3 parts you listed - the answer is no. Anything spot-welded on to the body/frame would be considered structural.

Agreed ... I think I just made a new entry for "thread hell".
Matty - can we please Ned Stark this thread? Apologies. |
Re: What do you do for a living and AMA thread
Well, I don't see any significant reasons to not share our career experiences, especially in the internet era. Perhaps some of you guys don't realize this but some people who choose to invest significant time in researching on a "regular" person can find ample information about that person online. It has become very difficult to shield/guard personal information on the internet nowadays. Big shouts out to Facebook, Google, Amazon and Apple for this era!
I work as Quality Improvement for a Federally Qualified Health Center - my main responsibilities are to collect, analyze and create performance reports for majority of teams in the organization and audit clinical documents. Although now I'm currently in process of changing to a different position, pending HR's approval. While I am not expert in terms of collecting data (i.e., coding a system to collect specific type of data), I have a good understanding in analyzing data so if you guys have any questions, please feel free to let me know.. I'm not going to give my opinions if you have any data questions that are related to politics, so don't ask me those questions. |

Any Dr's. I have a hemorrhoid's issues and need to know if having it licked will make it feel better? I've tried squeezing it with vise grips and that didn't work.

Anybody have experience with pasta makers? Looking to purchase one but not sure which way to go. There is a handcrank one that is top of the line but I have a kitchenaid mixer and can get motor attachments for it. Not sure which way I want to go.

I have had several jobs in my life, and this is actually a great one. I get paid pretty well to walk. No desk anymore. Nobody breathing down my neck. Good bonus and OT offered. Work 8-2 every day. No weekends. Strong union. |

Re: What do you do for a living and AMA thread
I worked at Popeyes through HS.
Chicken is fresh not frozen and gets dregged the night/day before. Onion rings (if they still have them) were a pain in the ass. Were from scratch. hated making those. Biscuits made in house. I know we baked them in house, cant remember if we made the batter. Red beans/rice/mashed potatoes/gravy come frozen in bags then get heated up in water containers. Fries? pretty sure they were frozen |
Re: What do you do for a living and AMA thread
Man I used to love some red beans and rice from Popeyes, great drunk food

I called for help. It wasn't an expensive fix they just had to flush it. Couple hundred bucks or so. |

I had it happen, and just cheated, disconnected the pipe, and the condensate just fall into funneled pump. |

Mine was so bad I needed a plumber ,just suggestion here and I will say I have never done it. Neighbor says he has used liquid plumber in the situation for him and it worked for him .Not a big problem but get it fix early in the season. |

The reason they clog is because now on the water line they add a P trap. Well that P trap is not like your sinks that is constantly getting flushed so all winter your P trap on the AC just sits there collecting mold and crap thus the clog. All you have to do is clear that tiny bend ( P Trap) in the pipe leading from the AC to where ever you are dumping (usually a sump pit) the excess water from your evaporator coil. For preventive maintenance pour white vinegar or bleach down that pipe twice a year. Especially do it at the end of the cooling season then the tiny P trap will be filled with vinegar/ bleach over the winter instead of water (no mold/scum growth) |

Ha…sidebar…my girlfriend Italian (Brooklyn Italian as well) mother made stuffed Italian peppers this past weekend and sent me some. I’m getting quite spoiled. People with plumbing issues…nothing worse aside from car/truck issues…get a plumber and don’t fuck around. Generally not too expensive and anytime working with water and your house, you could do a lot of long term damage if ya mess up. |
