Pro Bowl Week - Around the NFL

Let's start this week with news that Xavier Rhodes has somehow been selected for the Pro Bowl, even though he was horrible this year.

It's sad how much of a joke the Pro Bowl has become.

Its all about the QB challenge. The game itself is a joke. Go Tress Way!!

Jay Gruden agrees to become the Jags OC.

Let the "Jay and Gardner Minshew smoking pot" jokes begin!

Gruden is an OC. Didn't figure it would take long for him to get another job.

How many people actually watch the Pro Bowl? I can't remember the last time I watched it.

I know it is at least 10 for me as I know I haven't watched it at my current place and I moved here in 2010.

They are going to experiment with rule changes at the Pro Bowl, including the alternative to the onside kick. Wonder how many people that don't watch the Pro Bowl will watch to check out the new rules.

Jay is going to bring all his kids!
McCoy, CT and Ryan Grant will be Jaguars.

Why didn't you think Minshew would be the starter for Jags? I think he played well enough to warrant an open competition in the training camp, considering the situation he was thrown in.

I used to watch it but when they started not tackling each other that was the end for me

Re: Pro Bowl Week - Around the NFL

I watch the highlights just to fill the gap between championship week and the SB. It's on too late over here to watch live even if I wanted to. I often find the pro bowl week competitions more entertaining than the game. Reckon they need to find a way for all the players to play Madden as themselves in a massive online game. :)

Is it two hand touch or flag now?

10 years I think for me. And even then we are talking about watching it for maybe 15 minutes. Honestly, last time I can remember was Sean Taylor laying out the punter on a fake. That may have been the last time.

It still gets ratings, like 11-12 million. More than most NBA or MLB conference finals playoff games.

I'd rather watch the Senior Bowl. Pro Bowl is garbage and unwatchable.

The pro bowl is for kids. Not for you.
I always liked all the different helmets together.
That said..all they are doing is exactly what they do during a game. Faking it. But they do it lazier than a do called actual game.
Get ready for another low scoring super bowl.

So it looks like Mike Florio (the Chris Russell/Jason Reid of national NFL coverage) is basically saying that the 49ers should risk a 15 yard PF penalty to hit Mahomes.

ESPN analytics: Eli Manning is a 70% chance of being selected to the NFL Half of Fame. He is a 70% chance of being a first ballet member. Two time Super Bowl MVP, He took down the Goat and Belichick in the biggest game, he is a member of the NFL first family, and played 13 years. He will also get the bias of the New York media. Like it or not, he will selected.

The NFL changed the rules on the red option. They can hit the QB, even if he no longer has the ball. The defense needs to lay him out on any read options.

Mike Florio is a deuce and i can't believe people still listen to him.

Eli Manning,

Played 16 years..........................,bias media BS.

2 Championships
2 SB MVPs
4 Pro Bowls
210 consecutive starts never missing a game to injury
7th in history in passing yards
7th in history in TD passes
Walter Peyton man of the year
Two historic play off runs
Second QB in history to throw 2 go ahead 4th quarter TDs in the Super Bowl
Played his absolute best in the biggest moments and the ONLY moments that truly matter.
Two iconic Super Bowl moments that will be replayed by NFL films when your grandchildren have grandchildren.
Class act who always represented the league in a positive light

THAT ... is a Hall Of Famer and to add.................

Go look at Eli's numbers in both playoff runs ... incredible

when you are looking at those numbers think about some of the situations of those games

#1 seed Cowboys in Dallas

-1 degrees in GB where he puts on a clinic

again beating a #1 seed in the Packers in GB

SF in one of the most violent games I've ever seen

that's leaving out the SB games

You do not have to give me the hard sell. I think he is a hall of famer and maybe a first ballot.

Eli should and will get in, but I understand the arguments against him.
