That poor guy man. Life just won't give him a fucking break.
|
Re: Guice thread
Yeah feel for him, he's a great Player but he just can't stay healthy and his injuries are always knees and that just means he won't play for long

Re: Guice thread
As good as Guice is and can be, he can not be counted on.

Re: Guice thread
Who’s reporting it? Looks fine in this video after the game.

Re: Guice thread
Guys walk off with torn ACLs all the time. Walking ok isn't necessarily a good indicator of a knee injury.

Re: Guice thread
Are you fucking kidding me?

Re: Guice thread
I hate to say it but I don't know how much longer we can count on him. If the torn MCL report comes back positive he's 0/3 on staying healthy long term so far. I don't know if AP is coming back next year but we really need to start considering alternatives. Chris Thompson is most likely gone too and Bryce Love is a question mark.

Yup. It’s a terrible idea to think going into next year with Love and Guice as the main ball carriers with their history of injuries. AP will be 35 coming into camp...we really should think about RB in free agency. |

The only true playmaking RB in 2020 will be Gordon but he is too $$. May have to draft one |

Naw we don’t need that, but free agency holds a lot of complimentary RB: Jordan Howard Kenyan Drake Gus Edwards Restricted: Matt Breida Kareem Hunt Melvin Gordon and Derrick Henry, not worth the money |

Sounds good to me. Young running backs come cheap via the draft, and RB is one of those positions where it doesn't take much to acclimate to the NFL (other than blitz pickup, but you can always have another guy for that). |
Re: Guice thread
Guice will be fine, but will probably shut him down for the rest of the season as a precaution.
|
Re: Guice thread
I did not watch the game, I was at the beach having a good time but I checked the score around half time and saw Guice had 5 carries for a nice chunk of change,Then I checked the box score after the game and saw it had not changed, and I thought to myself, you’ve got to be fucking kidding me! I knew he had to have been hurt again, he’s a wasted draft pick, time to dump him and move on.We’re definitely going to need to draft Another injury riddled running back next year:banghead:

Will be fine? What is your definition of being fine? He was walking around in the locker room last year after his knee injury and said he was going to be fine,There’s no fucking way he’s going to be fine,And why would you shut him down? So he can take another roster spot and get hurt again next year? That dude is never going to be healthy for the skins, he will need to go to another team where he remain healthy till he retires at age 40 holding the NFL rushing title:doh: |

Reed and Vernon Davis will be fine too |
Re: Guice thread
Guice will always be a #2 , u can't rely on him to be that guy

That's the part that hurts, because he clearly has the talent and ability to be a bell cow back, he just can't catch a break |
Re: Guice thread
2nd round draft pick curse continues.

Re: Guice thread
From what I am seeing they say it could be a sprain but we will see I guess.

Probably season ending regardless |

Probably so, sucks because we were really starting to see what he could be, but now we are back to run right up the middle slow 35 year old Peterson |

Yeah they HAVE to look at RB this off/season. Wonder if they will bring AP Back |

It would be more plausible if Guice could stay healthy through this season. Its too much of a risk to bring back AP at 35 because when the wheels fall off its not gonna be good. Running back are EXTREMELY affordable, get one. |
Re: Guice thread
At this point, we have to act as if Guice will not be the RB for the Redskins in the future. We can add RBs to our needs list.
As much as I admire Peterson's drive, we need to move on from him after this season. We will be in rebuilding mode so we need to start over and look for gems. |
Re: Guice thread
There's no way AP should come back. There's no way a new coach will bring him back. Callahan will bring him back, w/out question cause he gets a chub watching AP run up the middle on 1st down for 3 yards.
I really hope this is just a sprain. Guice should be the guy next year and stop all this nonsense with rotating every other play. |
Re: Guice thread
Don't forget about Love. If he's even 90% of what he used to be, he could be damn good.
|
Re: Guice thread
Guice is done, time to look for a RB in draft or FA.

I'd rather box prime Mike Tyson |
Re: Guice thread
The guy has quite the injury history for being 22 years old and all of them are to the legs. That isn't good for a running back and how long before it causes him to lose a step? It really is a shame as he was starting to look like he had potential to be a top notch back.
|
Re: Guice thread
Guice is averaging 13 carries per torn knee ligament.
This dude needs some collagen peptides in his supplement. Guice, Reggie Bush, Bob Sanders, and Sam Bradford have shown they can make plays but can't stay on the field. This injury puts the team in a bind at RB. You can't go into the season with Guice, CT, and Love. They need a RB1 and let Guice/Love battle for 3rd down back. |

Bryce Love is coming off a complete ACL tear 2018 Darrius Guice is coming off a complete ACL tear 2018, tore meniscus this year, and at this time a sprain MCL. These guys have a lot of potential, but we should be addressing RB as severe need in Free Agency. Im leaning Kenyon Drake right now if the Cards don't resign him. |
Re: Guice thread
FWIW:
Guice posted on Twitter "I just want a hug from my mommy" and: "Since returning, 4 games 32 carries 227 yards 7.1 AVG; 2 touchdowns. 4 REC 59 yards 14.7 AVG; 1 touchdown! I was getting in rhythm" Sounds like a guy that knows he's done |

Re: Guice thread
baseball but Manny Machado had bad knees - just had abnormal knee structure - he went through 2 surgeries on both knees and hasnt had a problem since.
"The hope was because it was [a] partial [tear on the right side], that it wasn't as severe. The hope was that it would scar down, and we'd be able to get [Machado] back and see how it we went," head athletic trainer Richie Bancells said. "That, in combination with Dr. ElAttrache had always mentioned there was a risk, just given the way that Manny is structured physically, predisposes him to that kind of injury. There was always that risk. https://www.mlb.com/news/knee-surgery-once-again-ends-orioles-third-baseman-manny-machados-season/c-91045502 I do think certain players are just injury prone from the way they are born (weak ligaments, abnormal knee structure, etc) plus the way that they play/expose themselves. Guice is injury prone with his knees. Perhaps he has weak ligaments. Perhaps he doesnt stretch enough or the right way. When he came back, AP told him he has to trust his knee and that knee and ligament is now stronger than it was before the surgery ... AP is an example of a guy who has amazing 1% flexibility and laticity ... his knee bent last year in a way that any other player would have a torn ACL. he limped throughout the game but played. Guice would have died if that happened to his knee. |
Re: Guice thread
Here's an idea for the Skins: Stop over-drafting players with histories of serious injuries! They have done this time and time again since Snyder has owned the team and been burned at least 75% of the time by doing this. That's why our second round pick history has been an unmitigated disaster. They think they're about to get a first round talent on the cheap and it just doesn't work that way.
It's happened under multiple GM's, so I think this stupidity must be all about Snyder's meddling. He never learns. The sooner he completely divorces himself from personnel matters, the better off we'll all be. |
Re: Guice thread
Folks statically Running Back is the most injured and highest potential for injury in the game. These group misses more games do to injury than any other.
If he is having multiple injuries in just his first 5 games in his career...plan b this offseason should be in play. |
