Tough test for a young skins team on the road against a SB Contender..

I don't see this team winning this one but I hope I'm wrong.

Eagles D proves to be too much for a BAD OL without Trent and our Defense just cant hold up in the 4th.

Eagles have a great Oline and good Dline.......this will be trench warfare.

Defense: ILB will be key with our team all season and especially this weekend, not only stopping the run for an organization that loves to run the ball, but covering 2 TEs that are sticking moving monsters. Safety gonna have to cover and help as well.

Offensive side of ball...Eagles were vulnerable to the big pass play last season OR played conservative against pass which soften up the short throws. Outstide of Jenkins, their secondary and ILB in coverage...Im NOT sold on. They will load up against the run, we have to take advantage when those opportunities allow through the air. But our Oline have to give Case time...

I think its a more a defensive game with rusty offensives...lotta field goals.

I'm telling you all, Philly is going to be expecting the Skins of the last few years, and that ain't this team. Jonathan Allen leads the way with 2 sacks, and our D defines themselves as an elite unit.

Philly scores just 13 points on 2 long FG's and a late TD to keep the game close.

Our offense can't get out of it's own way though with 9 penalties, mainly false starts and 3 critical holding calls - 2 on Flowers and one on Reed. Our RB's find their groove early though and we have a combined rushing of over 180 yards, and win the game ugly

Don't see us winning this one, mainly because of our passing offense and Jay not being a great week 1 coach... but you never know.

I honestly won't be mad if we lose that game... "how can you say that??! It's a division game F Philly!!"... yeah obviously, but I just want this team to look [I][U]competitive[/U][/I], and to feel good about the rest of the season and most importantly the [I][U]future of this franchise[/U][/I].

i think the players will play hard. I think ultimately we will be out-coached on both sides of the ball, per the norm IMO. I think we might keep it close at times, but inevitably lose. I HOPE i am WRONG. to quote Jeffrey Lebowski - "I HATE the fuckin' Eagles man!"

The Eagles have a loaded roster with great coaching, they are winning the east if they stay healthy. We could beat them of course but it's likely not happening. We would have to play a near perfect game and when has that happened under Jay? Maybe the GB SNF Game that's it

I think we’ll do better than than many anticipate. Unfortunately Gruden doesn’t start out the season fast. I’m also worried about the Flowers vs. Cox battle. I think the Eagles will stuff the OL, forcing Case to pass. They’ll be surprised that we actually have better WRs than that loser Josh Doctson. I’m excited to see McLaurin and Quinn in action. We’ll sneak a TD or two based on the surprise WR factor.

I’m also worried about old DeSean, who won’t mind a little payback. The Eagles are a good team and well-coached. We will unfortunately lose 31-17.

Threw me off at first, but it's nice.

I will be watching week 1 with an eagles fan. Shockingly they have a few reasonable fans. Hopefully I'm the happy friend.

I'm glad we open on the road. We win, the season is off to amazing start. We lose, no big deal.

I'm bothered by the reports Jay wanted to cut AP, couldn't, and now wants him inactive for week 1 on so many levels:

1) The HC should have final say on the roster

2) But this is stupid, AP carried our pathetic offense on his back last season and you're gonna disrespect him like that ?

3) This is a football mistake, I like the faith in Guice, but more and more teams go to RB by committee, and we're going to take away AP's talent from ourselves ? I mean we have ONE truly elite squad on this team (AP, Guice, CT to me is top 10) and we're going to cut one head of this potential 3 headed monster just because our HC can't handle a strong personality ? Loser mentality.

4) The new banner is sick as hell.

Unless AP has escalators in his contract that pay him bonus for being on the game day actives (and he may), it really shouldn't matter whether he is active or not. With our line in constant flux and JR's concussion tendencies I would rather have an extra guy from OL/TE group than a 4th RB.

Still most bothered by the fact that we have a roster spot taken up by a qb that couldn't play even if needed and only 3 TE's, Colt should be gone Holtz or Parham should be active.

I think they kept Colt for two reasons... One, we actually may need him. Second, I think they possibly mismanaged his injury and are throwing him a bone for being a good soldier. Next year the Colt era ends.

But I do think finding ways to play both Guice and AP back and forth would be great for an offense that lacks a proven receiving corps and will need to run the ball effectively...

Regarding Point 1, NO executive should allow a subordinate manager (Jay Gruden in this case) to do something extremely stupid that will harm the business. If the reports are true, then Jay was trying to do two things that would have been extremely stupid.

In fact, he has done at least three things that are extremely stupid in his dealings with AP. The third thing is not to start him. There is no reason not to start him at this point and have him split the work with Guice. It is simply a matter of showing respect to AP for all he has done. Guice would understand that. The possible fourth stupid move would be if Jay were the one who allowed all of this to get out to the Press.

This is not a RB problem. This is a management problem. It looks like JG would rather throw away a very valuable team resource and treat a player (AP) unfairly and disrespectfully in order to evade his own management problem. Now that JG has made the situation worse than it needed to be, he must fix it. If he can't fix it, it will surely do harm to his own career.

Here we have yet another self-inflicted wound to a Redskins executive. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

It could be a bone, but put him on IR, or he could have started on PUP to get past the first portion of the season. Just stupid to have him take a spot on the 53 unless you are afraid that he will come after you with a lawsuit or something.
