Skins v Eagles MNF
All this talk about gutting the front office, new HC/QB, meanwhile we've got a HUGE game coming up with first place in the division on the line.
Full week of reps should help Colt McCoy prepare for Eagles |
Re: Skins v Eagles MNF
It is a bit startling to see how quickly the optimism has sizzled on this team. I won't lie and say i'm an outlier but the truth still stands; We're tied for first and this game is pivotal in deciding our season.
I think a win here shows a lot about Gruden and his ability/inability to overcome adversity. Gruden's teams have routinely played hard throughout the full 16 games, I don't expect that to be any different Monday. But his teams also tend to lay an egg in prime time, and I can't really expect that to be any different either. It's gonna come down to McCoy and how quickly Gruden can get him coached up/ready to go. I'm just nervous cause this is the exact type of game the Redskins have choked in the past few years. National Stage, playoff implications, an opponent we definitely CAN beat... |
Re: Skins v Eagles MNF
43-4 Redskins.
Redskins always play well on Monday night and Colt will light them up. Doctson with 10Rec for 215 yards and 3TDs. |

In Jay's time in DC Here is his record in Prime time games (5 years)
MNF = 1-6 Only win came against Dallas when CM started in 2014. For overall PT games counting Thurs, Sat and Sunday Nights. He is 4-14 in such games. So.... yeah I'm not picking us to beat Philly @ Philly on MNF. Most MNF games have been bad losses but I don't think Philly can score enough to embarrass us like NO did. Eagles 24 Skins 20 |

Re: Skins v Eagles MNF
“I just feel like when we’re in certain preparations — when it’s Friday, when it’s Saturday, when it’s time to lock in and really be focused in — I feel like it’s a little bit too much playing,” Swearinger said, via the Washington Post. “Whether it’s on Friday or whether it’s the Saturday walk-through. A lot of guys just walk through that Saturday as if that Saturday doesn’t mean much. But truth be told, that Saturday means a lot. If you’re a focused individual, every time that you step on the practice field — whether it’s a walk-through, whether it’s a real practice — any time the coach is saying something, that means business. When we have our walk-throughs on Saturdays, I feel like it’s a joke, to me — with the amount of focus that we have, with the amount of playing that we have, the amount of lack of discipline that we have on those Saturdays and Fridays, on days where I feel like we should be tuned in. That’s where those comments come in.”

Re: Skins v Eagles MNF
We ain't winning. Don't know what the score will be but they will have more points than us.
Note - I wouldn't pick Jay Gruden to beat the 49ers on the road on MNF. |

Re: Skins v Eagles MNF
Absolutely no trust that Gruden has them ready. Love DJ's calling folks out, hopefully the players respond, even if the coach(es) haven't got a clue.

Yep and I love that DJ has balls to call the coaches and players out! He shows that he is in it for winning not just having fun and money. Jay is a happy go lucky mfer that has no discipline. |
Re: Skins v Eagles MNF
The more DJ talks the more I think he needs to shut it and keep things in house. Talk to your teammates, talk to your coaches. Airing your dirty laundry in public is rarely a good thing.

Normally I'd agree, but apparently with this team that doesn't work. Got a bunch of slapdicks running around. Not a good look on Gruden. Things will get ugly if we lose Monday. |

I'll be at the game, getting harassed surely. Don't really care about that it is what it is... But I hope we win... I don't think that is the most likely outcome but I would love nothing more than a fucking blowout. Send these clowns home from the stands early.

Re: Skins v Eagles MNF
I actually think we bring it Monday night...Eagles looked terrible against the Giants. Their defense is gashable...

Be careful, aren't the Eagle fans so bad they have a jail in the stadium, or is that BS? |

The Redskins on MNF are the cure for any team looking bad the week prior. |

Philly is the only stadium I've been to that I chickened out on wearing my Redskins shirt. Btw, I still have flashbacks from the last MNF game I went to against the Eagles. Ron Mexico (Vick) was playing Madden, just torching us.. it was raining.. and I watched an Eagles fan come within moments of getting tossed over the railing before someone else stepped in. |

The Vet had a jail with 4 cells in it. They also built the Linc with 4 cells, but if what I have read is accurate, those cells are no longer used. |
Re: Skins v Eagles MNF
Redskins sign Reuben Foster. Will his play be able to overcome his off the field problems?

I'd rather not see this over and over. I think this is the 4th or 5th time in the last two years he's called out practice habits, coaches, players, or what he apparently feels are unacceptable mannerisms. Maybe he is talking to the teamates/coaches in question though, and it's just falling on deaf ears. I don't know him personally, but he doesn't strike me as someone who is afraid to call you out on the spot. It definitely feels like there is some sort of leadership problem in that locker room. |
Re: Skins v Eagles MNF
So did the NFL issue another apology to us for the Reed hit or fine the Dallas player or did they just give us a big F U and not even acknowledge it?

The Linc is a much nicer place to visit than the Vet the only thing I have gone to see at the Vet were baseball games. The access to 95 for the Link allows for easier access to more fans both of Philly and visiting from DC, Balt, Pitt, NYC. I

The vet was always right off 95 too. They're located in the same place. The Linc was built no further away from the Vet than I can hit my driver on a day with no wind. They demolished the vet shortly after both Citizen's Bank Park and the Linc were completed. Where the Vet used to sit is now used as parking. But yes the Linc is much nicer. There's still a knucklehead contingent of Philly fans but since they won the SB last year the crowd has been appeased somewhat. I hear of less of the nasty behavior this year than I always did in previous years. That's not to say it won't be a hostile environment, it still will. But now fans here seem to be like faux nasty because they feel like they have a reputation to uphold, rather than actually nasty and bitter because they haven't won. |

I definitely didn't remember where the Vet was located but that makes sense. Last time I was there was '97. Curt Schilling was pitching
