Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton/Dix
Like it. Monte is young is still learning...but hasn't played well.
Interesting Green Bay is selling like this.... |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
HUGE MOVE
This is now a SB contender folks. Let that sink in |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
4th rd pick
|
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Not a bad trade for a 4th round pick. I like the pickup.
|
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I guess they feel really strong about Dunbar returning as well. Glad he is coming back...
Stroman isn't ready to play everydown....capt. obvious |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
4th round?.
OFFICIALLY FLEECED |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
We already have the best Run D in the league, now u add a star S to go with an already impressive secondary. Awesome job
|
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I was expecting them to give up a 3rd at the least. A 4th is outstanding. The only thing I wonder is he's a UFA after this year, can we afford him and then re-sign Swearinger the year after? Guess we'll cross that bridge when we have to.

Gonna be tough with BS coming up too. But we will see |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Not sure if his 5th year option is transferrable to the new team (us) but if it is, he'll only cost ~$6M against the CAP next season. Tremendous value and Kudos to the #Redskins for pulling this off
|
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
We are the Alabama Redskins

Good point, I would think the option follows the player. Have to check on that. |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I ... I ... am stunned.
This is a solid move. Dix and DJS?? When was the last time we had a safety combo like that?? Seriously, Norman, Dix, DJS and Dunbar are a solid group. Maybe not legion of boom solid, but damn solid nonetheless. |

You sign Dix and let Swearinger walk. I'm not sure DJ is as good as he is if our DL isn't as beastly as they are. I truly believe our DL is covering up some weakness in our secondary. |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
One of the top 3 safeties in a pass-happy league for a fourth round pick is an absolute heist!!! Great move!!!
|
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
plus we get a pick back for Kirk right? Its an awesome move, finally it seems like this team is on the right path

I don't know man, DJ is balling out this year at an all pro level. Gotta give him credit. |

Better than Atogwe and Doughty?!? I did not see this coming at all, never even heard a whisper of a rumor. Who cares what we gave up, let's win!!! |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Yeah this is no fluke on DJ, if u watch the tape it shows hes been flying around like crazy. I think he talks a lot but hes a leader
|

Most definitely. Not taking anything away from his play this year at all. Just over the course of his career, I'd take Dix over Swearinger. |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Any word on if they talked extension before trading?
|
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I think we should all take this time to sit and reflect on just how badly the Cowboys got fleeced on their trade. Seeing all these deals being made with top notch players for 3rd and 4th rounders. It warms my heart.

Not only that...He is a legitimate leader in the clubhouse. Id look at extending him as well as getting something done with Ha Ha. |

Vinny C was proud of that Cowboys move, classic bidding against themselves type of deal. |

OMG WHY????? DJ has provided leadership and is the only guy in the secondary consistently making plays. Let's see what these guys can do together before making any roster decisions for next year. |

lol I wanted to do backflip when I saw what they did. I still lol about it every time I think about it. |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Wow. Totally psyched.
We are 5 and 2. 5 and freakin' 2!! And we just schooled Green Bay in a trade?!? Whoever said Halloween Twilight Zone shit is dead on the money. Let's go Skins! And F*** the Cowboys! |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I am still pinching myself. With Dix and DJS, we will have a lot of flexibility. If the DB's get on the same page quickly, this just became a bigly good D.
|
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Woooooooowww!!!!

I can't wait for Cooper to see that he's gone from an overrated QB to a REALLY overrated QB. Back to this move, it's hard not to like it. I was hoping Monte could really live up to the pre-season praise he got from Jay and others, but he hasn't yet. Not saying her won't, but this is an upgrade. And it seems a good deal. As far as next year goes, this may be a short term rental -- per ESPN: Clinton-Dix, 25, has been a starter since his rookie season in 2014, but he becomes an unrestricted free agent after this season. He was a first-round draft pick and made the Pro Bowl in 2016.... If [he] signs a big free agent contract this offseason, the Redskins will get a compensatory pick in 2020. Who gets axed for this I wonder? |

I thought this was his 5th year? |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I guess it strengthens our backend for the Atlanta game. Lots of Safety help everywhere.

This is my concern. Assuming we plan to resign Clinton-Dix, I wonder if it means we will be ready to move on from Norman. Dunbar is on extremely team-friendly contract and all other CBs are on rookie deals so I think we can afford to resign both Dix and DJ when it comes to that. I'm definitely surprised by this move but I like it. |

And a compensatory pick should he sign elsewhere, which may be fine with us ... hoping Monte continues to improve, growing into that spot. Can't be anything but pumped about this. We're acting like a real, honest to goodness, pro football franchise. Feels weird, but good! |
Re: Redskins trade for Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
It sure counters the WRs that just came into our division (Cooper and Tate).
