The score was worse than the actual game... Wiz kept up with a motivated Heat team on their opening night's home court without Beal, Nene and Blair. Porter looks really good this year. |

NBA 2014-2015 is on. Anybody BUT the Lakers! Sorry fans of that team!

Eating crow. Temple is playing like he means it. |

yes...im surprised, but thrilled. When the truth shot has been off, Temple is picking up the slack. Im liking the fact coach is sticking with the bench and getting guys in and out. He got enough confidence in that bench talent where he can find a couple solid performances each night...Seraphine, Gooden, Miller, Porter Oh if I havent screamed this enough: Wall > Kyrie or Cryrie |

Oh if I havent screamed this enough: Wall > Kyrie or Cryrie
Seriously... only the most Cav homer would disagree. Wall's all around game (minus his long range shot) is ahead of Kyrie's. |
Re: NBA Season 2014-15
Got to watch last night against the Pistons, wow great game. Brandon Jennings is amazing, I got to watch him in high school and he put on the greatest shooting display Ive every seen live. If he wasnt on fire first half, Wiz would have dominated that game.
Gortat is really underrated defensively going against other bigs, last night he went after Drummond and Josh Smith and controled both in the paint and scored on them no problem. Nene couldnt handle Greg Monroe. Good comeback win and now 3-0 at home, nice way to protect homecourt. And I saw this: LeBron James says his kids aren't allowed to play football - ESPN Really Lebron? |

What an ass kicking by the wiz last night against the cavs. We just dominated from the second quarter on.

Re: NBA Season 2014-15
Man the Wiz are playing great ball right now, this maybe the best team they've ever had. So impressed by how well the team is meshing right now. Whitman commitment to the Defense and the bench play has been the difference makers and has take the team to the next level.
Watching this team, the guys are playing at a consistent level, but when Bradley Beal scores in the 20s the team is nearly unstoppable. He is the key offensively. |

Not sure if it'll last the whole year but for now I love seeing at least one DC team rolling. |

Re: NBA Season 2014-15
A few weeks ago I said I anticipated the wizards to play better than .500 ball as the schedule got harder- but I did not imagine they would be on a run like they are now.
This is very dangerous team in the regular season, and I think will make a strong push in the postseason. They have some experience under the belt, and now just need to stay healthy and keep the show rolling. |

Meh, not really impressed with the Wizards. Finally started paying attention to them recently and I think they're still a lot of fluff. Tonight they got another reminder (pushed around by the Bulls who played last night) that they have a ways to go. The other night they struggled to beat a bad Miami team that had lost 8 of 11 and was playing without Bosh. Then, they got pretty much whipped by a mediocre Phoenix team at home. Then tonight despite a couple runs, the Bulls pretty much held serve the whole game, in DC. This team needs to get its head out of its butt. They're arrogant, cocky and haven't won squat (kind of like the Caps and Nats who are always overhyped). Yeah they beat the Bulls in the playoffs but Chicago didn't have Rose, had let go of Deng and Noah was playing pretty badly hurt. Now look at their records. They've played easily the majority of their games at home, the only really tough road opponents they've faced have been Cleveland and Toronto (blowout losses each time) and they haven't gone West at all yet. But you look at the Bulls who came in tonight having played most of their games away from home and already having a grueling long road trip under their belt that went from coast to coast. I'll believe in the Wizards when they get on the road and out of the VC and start taking the competition up a notch. They still look overhyped to me. |
Re: NBA Season 2014-15
Awesome game last night and big win for the Wiz. This west coast swing is gonna tell us alot about the team. Houston is really good, Harden game is amazing. Big shot from Pierce for the win. boom

Im at a loss for words...something isnt right with the wizards. Sure Bradley Beal not playing really hurts the team, but this is get cray cray |
Re: NBA Season 2014-15
Randy Whittman is what's wrong with the Wizards. His insistence on rolling with the 2nd unit while leads evaporate is infuriating. Also, he does not willingly change his rotation, which is part of what leads to my prior point. It's really sad. He needs to go.
Other than that, the team just looks lethargic. They're in the tank right now. I don't know if firing Whittman fixes everything, but I'm starting to think it can't hurt. Adding to it, other than the first sentence this paragraph is spot on:
I don’t even have a problem with his allergy to 3s. But if he wants to play big, playing Seraphin and Humphries over Gortat is incomprehensible. An offense designed around dribble handoffs to free up 18-foot jumpers makes no sense. Neither does feeding it into post players who suck at post-ups. Run a pick-and-roll with Gortat and Wall; run high screens for Wall to drive and kick to Beal for 3-pointers; go small with Pierce at the 4 and Otto Porter at the 3. I’m not a basketball coach, and I know Grunfeld’s roster is rough, but a team with Wall at point guard should never look this bad on offense.
|

Brooklyn taking the Hawks to the limit... hopefully it goes 7. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Nets take it- Atlanta looks totally discombobulated... they can't hit their perimeter shots and they haven't figured out how to stop Brook Lopez. Bulls are struggling with the Bucks after being up 3... Cavs out Love and (and JR for two games). Second round will be a different beast, but this feels like a really good opportunity to show out. Pierce has been invaluable on the younger guys' development. And how about the Ottoman Empire? John Wall is going to be the best point guard within the next three seasons, no offense to Steph. His ability to control the offensive side of the court is similar to Chris Paul... look at the contract he basically gifted Ariza in Houston. Wall's defensive ability is matched by a high motor. Once he develops a consistent outside shot, the sky's the limit. |
Re: NBA Season 2014-15
What the hell has gotten into Otto porter? +11 today playing defense and rebounding like a boss. I don't know what flipped the switch, but this team has found it again.. Tough to win on the road in the playoffs

Yeah, it's been great to watch. He's looking like Tayshaun Prince in his prime. We needed that pick to hit after our poor drafting history outside of John and Bradley (trading away the five pick that could have been Stephen Curry, drafting Jan Vesely, etc.). |
Re: NBA Season 2014-15
Wall's probably out for the rest of the playoffs... it's a shame, because the stars were lining up for a decent run. Weird playoffs- the point guards seem to be cursed, with Wall, CP3 and Conley.

That was pretty unreal. How about three game winners on each night this weekend? |

Curry is out of his mind right now...last guy I've seen like this is Kobe mid to late 2000s. Where his game is perfection

Re: NBA Season 2014-15
Congrats to the Golden State Warriors as the Cleveland Cavilars and Lebron choked at the end when it counted on NBA Finals!
