Post everything college football related here.

Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Clemson vs Georgia is nasty. Looking at future nfl'er Sammy Watkins taj Boyd and Murray. Sammy Watkins is amazing. He's gonna be great in the nfl
|
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
VT played pretty damn good defensively today. Ironically, what they're known for (Special Teams) they did awful at today.
Sunseri on Bama looks like a fast smart good safety. On VT, Fuller looked like a good DB. Also Gayle is a solid rusher (could be a good pass rusher in the pros) and Jack Tyler looked very good. He's a very smart player. Maybe he can be a London replacement/draft pick come 2014. |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Alabama is looks like they will lose a couple of games this year. Whenever a team has to change their Oline drastically it usually takes them a year to get it together in college football, at least in terms of contending for a national championship. Still that defense will be amazing like usual. They are going to produce 1st rounders like they always do.
Fuller looks like he is going to be the next great Virginia tech DB. Looked good last year looks great this year. The hokies will be a lot better this year than last year. Experienced defense and looks like a great Dline. Gurley from Georgia is a beast. Beast against Bama beast now. Might go to the UVA Oregon game. Last year I was able to see Miami and duke Johnson was from another planet, he was obviously the best player on the field. I would love to see deanthony Thomas and Mariota in person. Should be a great college football season. |
Johnny Manziel was like a spoiled little baby out there today. If he can't handle trash talking from Rice players what's he going to do when he plays SEC teams.
|
Boomer sooner! And yes manziel showed his class today smh what a joke he is.
|
Clemson is the real deal, and Oregon will go undefeated IMO. And play bama in the title game
|
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Rice was talking trash to him and making gestures toward manziel the entire first half... He then threw three touchdown passes and started talking trash himself. He's annoying brat but he can play football and he backed up his talk last year and its obvious Texas AM will not win many games unless he plays the rest of the season.
Winner of Oregon vs Stanford should be in the national championship. Physical defenses give oregon problems so it should be interesting to see if they can score against Stanford, unlike last year where Stanford dominated their offense. |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Boyd is a high first round pick. he's not Bridgewater...few are... But he's really an excellent NFL prospect.
Murray is somewhat limited, but there's a spot for him in the pros. |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Murrays going to be a Great Backup in the NFL. He's smart and very experienced.
As far as college QBs to the NFL, my rankings would be something like: 1. Bridgewater 2. Renner 3. Fales 4. Manziel 5. Boyd |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
My Pirates walked away with a 52-38 win over ODU. This doesn't bode well with me because it shows me our defense is going to be horrible this year. Allowing 38 points from ODU? /facepalm

I thought ODU would be better than you all this year..They can throw and are well coached. I thought TCU had that game last night. Another well coached team who is one of the best in the Big 12. They didn't have their best player on defense in DeVonte Fields, who can change games and cause a 10 point swing in the game when he plays. Alabama does not look to me like a team that will go undefeated or repeat for a national championship. I look at Texas A&M, LSU, South Carolina, Stanford, and Oregon as teams that could all beat them. Hell even Clemson and Georgia look like they can beat them. |

ODU runs a super aggressive offense and can really throw the ball around. Not a bad total to allow. |

I think Renner is decent, but over rated. Manziel is a playmaker, but im still not convinced he is a consistent passer, I think Boyd is better thower. Murray is gonna get a chance to start in the league, he's better now than Locker/Ponder/Cousins were coming out imo. |
I have to see more of bridgewater and I think boyd is basically ej manuel.
|
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
I'm really hoping Stanford goes undefeated or at least beats Oregon. That defense is one of the best defenses in the nation, probably just as good as Bamas D this year. Really hoping the skins get either skov or Reynolds. Both are athletic and looks like they would be good pros.
I like bridgewater. He looked a lot like luck coming out where he just seems to know what the defense is doing at all times and goes through his reads extremely efficiently and quickly. There will probably some quarterback that comes our of no where like RG3/newton and becomes the second quarterback taken behind bridgewater. |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Teddy Bridgewater looks as good, if not better, than RG3 did in his Heismann year..
|
He's playing against you and me cult.
Griffin played on one of the worst teams in history and changed that program around playing against power houses such as Oklahoma and Texas not Ohio. I think he is a solid player but let's wait and see what he does against good talent As for Griffin, his Heisman year was insane, he had like 4 games where he had more tds than incompletions. |
That said.. he'll be in Oakland next year. Which sucks for him

I like how they all see what is about to happen and don't do anything to stop it. Even after it happens they just look at him and laugh. |

But with that said RG3 threw more TD's than incompletions for the first couple of games that year and was amazing. Louisville did play Florida with Florida having an entire team filled of pros and Bridgewater looked like the best player on the field. The Sugar Bowl proved a lot to me in terms of his ability since Bridgewater won't get the opportunity to play top teams that often. With that said lets give Bridgewater some time and see what he does. I think he will prove to be a great college QB. Tough as any QB and one of the smartest QB's I have ever seen. That includes Luck, Wilson and Ryan who I thought were highly intelligent college QBs. |

Problem is that right now Bridgewater has as many TDs and Incompletions. T. Bridgewater 23/28 355 12.7 5 1 97.2 |

I like Bridgewater, but I think it is too early to compare his year to RG3's year. Bridgewater looks a lot like Luck in terms of what he brings to the game. I think RG3 is more talented than both of them but both Luck and Bridgewater in college have the ability to diagnose plays quicker and more efficiently. Bridgewater will be a very good or great pro. |

Pirates are debuting their new alternate black uniforms tonight against Florida Atlantic. They've even painted the trim in black tonight for Black-Out game. Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
I normally hate when teams stray from their team colors for black for no real reason other than a fashion statement, but for a team called the Pirates, black just fits. (a lot better than purple too)

Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
The Raiders should draft Bridgewater, but they probably won't.
The Jets will get Clowney. |

I am not a big fan of the X made out of bones underneath the logo though. I like the skull though. Hopefully the stadium is having a blackout because that would make the homefield effect incredible. |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Tuned into some of the ECU game during the "weather delay" in Denver. ECU's helmet logos look great but that midfield logo might be the best in college football. It looks awesome.
I really liked Florida Atlantic's uniforms too and the helmets with the numbers on one side. ECU played great too. |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Well we've got UVA playing Oregon. That should be 21-0 by the 11 minute mark in the first quarter for Oregon.
We've also got another great SEC game with Georgia and Gurley/Murry vs Clowney and SC. Notre Dame plays Michigan, but what will be great to watch is OT Taylor Lewan vs. DE Stephon Tuitt (who is a Richard Seymour clone IMO). Miami plays 12 Florida, as a Florida fan, I'm obligated to watch a little bit of it. The two coaches though are great CFB coaches in Al Golden and Will Muschamp. OU plays WVU, so that game should be in the 50's. I'm excited to see this Trevor Knight QB for OU. He beat out Blake Bell the Tebow-esque looking QB for OU. And a possible (very small but you never know) upset tonight could be San Jose State with David Fales (whom I think is a top 5 QB in this years draft class) vs #5 Stanford. Fales should keep San Jose State in this game, its a matter of if SJS's defense can stop Stanfords balanced Offense. |
Last season tavon Austin destroyed Ou
Luckily for them he's not at wv anymore lol |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Did you see Jadeveon Clowney in South Carolina's opener against UNC? Was his performance a cause for concern? He was impressive, but he did look really tired; it seemed like on a few plays, he didn't give very much effort. Probably not a big deal.
Also, David Ash looked good in UT's opener; I hope he keeps it up tonight against BYU's defense. UT wins: 30-10. And, skinsfaninok, OU's time is up. No more of these huge blowouts against the 'Horns. :smashfreak: [YT]ZzdDMUyvNlM[/YT] |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Clowney was sick. You could tell just by looking at him he looked sick. I think before the game all he had was a banana since he couldn't keep food down.
Texas needs a new coach. Like Andy Reid, his time has just run out. That is just my opinion though. |
Re: Official 2013 NCAA College Football Thread
Watching Miami put up a win was fantastic. Been waiting for a big win for them for a long time.
Just a few notes from the game... Easley looked better than Floyd who went in the first round last year. Perryman as a potential replacement for Fletcher? Undersized but smart. Gotta love the U |

Gotta love the U
Perryman better fit maybe outside lb in a 4-3 more of a lance Briggs type. But he is amazing. People need to start paying attention to him. Florida was out coached pretty bad today and their qb, the once top qb recruit, showed extremely poor today |
Texas is due for a win against Ou but I don't see it this year guess we'll see
