Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Time for a new thread to be filled with the joys and happenings of all that is NFL.
ESPN sent out that DT Suh was fined $30,000 for his apparent kick of Schaub, and that Suh "didn't mean to kick [him, and that he] won't apologize" What a jerk. Just say "Man, sorry my foot hit your groin" and be done with it. |

Kinda hard to believe that guys would go through the trouble when facing stiff competition to use this stuff. Im sure the league will take a firm stance and erect new rules to fight this new PED. |

This is where the NFL really needs a common sense official. You try and suspend Ed Reed for a hit that has no intent, still fine him 50k, yet you don't suspend Suh and only fine him 30k for kicking another player in the balls where there is intent. He needs to be sat down. No place for that. |

It is really hard for an average Joe to perform out there, especially with an influx of young players every year. I know we expect players to handle themselves as professional. But I am sure when they take a long and hard look at their subpar careers, they would be pressured to take on something that will give them a little boost and edge. |

And what if it lasts for more than 4 hours? And isn't it trapped within the jockstrap? None of this sounds comfortable at all... :Flush: |

Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Games important to Skins wildcard chances:
Saints @ Atlanta Seattle@Chicago Tampa@Denver Minnesota@GB All 5 wildcard contenders (including us v Giants) are playing teams that have better records. Pretty important weekend in that regard. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
The Minn v. GBay game is really interesting. If GBay loses, it helps Minn, but may open up the 5th WC spot. I think Minn is going to end up losing more than winning of their last 5 games (I see them as an 8-8 team at best and likely 7-9). Not sure what GB schedule looks like, but if they come out of tomorrow 7-5, I think it opens the door to the playoffs a bit wider. Which, I gotta think, is good for us.

That's right, keep letting hope creep in. Subtle isn't it. Slowly inexorably driving you to believe that THIS time is different, the Skins will do it. |

I don't often say SIGN THIS GUY!!!!! as soon as a vet is cut...but I think we should take a serious look at Rolando McClain

WHAT?! Wow, I thought he was doing well with the Raiders. Rolando McClain “no longer an Oakland Raider” | Raiders Silver and Black Blog | an SFGate.com blog Unless he killed someone or is an absolute head case, I would say bring him in. We could use some youth at the ILB position, he's young enough to learn the system, and Lord knows we need ILBs with size to cover TEs. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Something weird is going on with McClain and the Raiders today
|
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
do we have the juice to claim him off waivers, or would he have to clear and sign?
|
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
he sounds like trouble, though. i'll pass
|
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
No way we'd get that claim. Any reasonably intelligent team ahead of us would grab him unless he killed someone...

I agree with JoeRedskin. I think only one of the teams Chicago or GreenBay is going to the playoffs hell, maybe neither if GreenBay loses this game. Chicago has no offensive line and they have the potential to crap the bed for the rest of the season. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
got to root for gb over min

Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
You have to wonder is it the Raiders or McClain? He seemed like a pretty safe bet coming out of college.
|
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
In the slim chance that McClain can be put in the b&g, so let it be written, so let it be done.
Self defense? Troubled childhood?
Down South I think "He needed killin'." is still a valid legal defense. :)

Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
On a team-friendly deal that is. He was fantastic as a 3-4 lib in college.
|
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
My gut feeling tells me he will be put on the suspended list like Haynesworth and they try to trade him in the off season. He's too high a pick to be cut.

ESPN SC NFL - Raiders LB Rolando McClain (1st-rd pick in 2010) informed he will be released on Thursday - Clayton
I'd get him. Could--could be that London replacement. I want this guy more than babin.. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
What happens if the Redskins and Cowboys put a claim who gets him? Cowboys cause they lost to the Redskins?
|
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Skins need to get Rolando immediately. He would be a monster in this system.

Cowboys. I'm pretty sure they're schedule is tougher than ours as well so that might factor in. He may be picked up by the chiefs though cause they need ILBs and have the worst record as we learned today with babin. |
