Guilty Pleasures: Movies

So we have music, food and TV. I figured we'd go to movies next. Since there are so many guys, I expect to see some chick flicks on your list.

For me, it'd have to be...

Twilight series
Anaconda
Congo
Any Disney or Pixar movie ever. I cried in Toy Story 3.
Any musical ever.

Battlefield Earth.

Just kidding, even I have standards.

Tough to live down but I will confess to singing along to Pain Your Wagon (I even own it on DVD), my wife rips me for it as it's the worst musical ever made according to her.

Back in 8th grade I must have watched You Got Mail 30 or 40 times. For some reason it always made me want to drink coffee.

The only Die Hards that count as guilty pleasures are Die Hard 2 and Die Hard 4.

I went to see Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. And enjoyed it.

My favorite will always be Temple of Doom, "KALIMA!"

Re: Guilty Pleasures: Movies

Rocky Horror Picture Show
Equilibrium
13th Warrior
Flash Gordon
Shoot em Up
Anything Disney
And when I was sick as a kid I always watched the Never-ending Story

And for some reason I'm a sucker for terrible movies when bored. Even when I know I'm watching a shitty movie I can't get myself to change the channel.

Tin Tin the Movie (2011); I rented it for my 4 year old son but I really got into as well.

Any of the Buddy movies:

Spooky Buddies
Snow Buddies
Santa Buddies
Space Buddies
Treasure Buddies

If you got kids and need/want to watch a movie with them those are not have bad.

Die Hard is a legit action flick, no shame in loving that movie.

I was watching a few minutes of it the other night, cracked me up how Willis constantly had a cigarette in his mouth. Ah the good old days, back when everyone smoked in the movies.

Bridesmaids.

Although I don't feel too bad about admitting that seeing as how I know there were a lot of men everywhere that thought it was funny too.

That reminds me, anyone ever have one of those movies you watched every day as a kid? Weirdly enough I watched Willow and Home Alone almost every day.

It's a classic but one that get's a ton of weird looks from some people.

and I don't have kids, but Up's first 10 minutes gave me the chills. Only Pixar movie I cried during was Toy Story 3. Totally didn't expect to be shedding any tears in a movie theater but luckily everyone around me was doing the same thing haha.

Same here, Willow was great (sidenote: remembered calling everyone at school Peck for a month or so lol)

My childhood movies on repeat were: Willow, Never-Ending Story, Splash, Octopussy, Goonies, Star Wars, and I get some shit about this sometimes but I also watched Grease on the regular.

Oh and of course Karate Kid! Even had the costume lol.

Anyone remember the movie Cloak and Dagger?

Also, Legally Blonde

hooskins 10-09-2012 06:37 PM

I love all Disney movies and I don't think that's a guilty pleasure.

Also, Midnight in Paris. Yeah. You heard me!

Mortal Kombat, definetely one of those movies thats technically bad but because you saw it when you were in middle school is still considered awesome.

One things for sure. No movie to this day has had a more kick ass soundtrack then Mortal Kombat.

DAMN! Forgot about that one. Is that one a guilty pleasure or just a classic because that was one of those movies that TBS constantly played (that and Breakfast Club).

Also almost forgot!

I remember when it was finally ported to SNES and everyone was pissed they took out the blood. You had to do some complicated ass code to get the "sweat" to turn red.

Oh most definitely classic, still waiting on the rumored sequel with them as grown ups and their kids taking their places as the adventurous ones.

Hells yes to cloak and dagger! Killer clowns from outer space anyone? Bubba Ho-Tep (have a man crush on Bruce Campbell) is another one for me horror wise is Fright Night the original.
