2012 redskins
 

Well, it's a bit early, but I think we've seen enough... so, who are the skins we expect back on the roster next year? Here's what I've got:

QB: ??
RB: Helu, hightower, torrain
FB: Young
WR: Moss, Gaffney, Hankerson, Armstrong
TE: Cooley a/o Davis, Paulsen
LT: Williams
LG: Lichtensteiger
C: Montgomery
RG/RT/6th OL: ??

DL: Bowen, Cofield, Carrikker , Jenkins, Neild
LB: Fletcher, Orakpo, Kerrigan, Perry
DB: ???
ST: Rocca

Need: QB/OL/DB/MLB

now, there's not a lot of depth listed here, and that's mainly because it's replaceable. guys like barnes etc are fine, but if they got switched out, I don't think it really changes much for us.

and what the F happened to zo? he looked good last year, but in 2011 he has 10 tackles.

At this point I can't see why either one would be brought back.

I hope we don't bring them back.. Hell I forgot AA was on the team prior to last Sunday

Torrain isn't going to make the team. Obviously Shanahan is going to bring in someone to compete.

Also Zo doesn't play on Defense anymore. He's just special teams I believe.

Torain sucks. Brings absolutely nothing special to the table against quality competition(Rams are not quality competition).

The best thing a young QB can have is a good TE. (Cam with Olsen and Shockey) so I would be upset if Cooley and Davis weren't here next year.

So our we re signing Kory L and Wil Montgomery? Both are FA, kinda surprise nobody is talking about it being are Oline seems to be an issue. I hope we dont and look to upgrade both. One in FA and one in the draft hopefully.

The Redskins will no doubt draft another running back. I'd be surprised if Torain doesn't end up on the team. But I think he's trade bait rather than the Redskins just releasing him.

I'd be pretty surprised, too. Torain just fell off the face of the earth after the St. Louis game and has done zero since.

AA has apparently been in Shanny's dog house for a while now.

yeah, but I think RG/RT are a much bigger issue, and you're not going to go out and sign 5 OL guys in one offseason.

If you want a WR this is the year.... bowe, jackson (vincent and desean), wayne, wallace, welker, etc etc... I'm not sure I'm into big big money on WRs, since it doesn't seem to turn into wins like money in QBs or OLs or pass rushers, but we might be able to get a decent one without going insane.

nicks and grubbs are two good OGs and we could use one of them (i like grubbs).

and, you know... drew brees.

Besides Kerrigan and Orakpo, I think everyone will be fighting to either keep their starting jobs Or be somewhere else.

If anyone think Hall is going elsewhere think again.. He'll be a redskin for a long time

As for WR obviously we will need to upgrade via FA at least one would make sense.

So do I, many here have said No way but sometimes you just have to add talent and we haven't had a true threat at WR in years.

People are gonna say no everything no matter what. I personally like the WR corp of Hank, D Jax, and Moss in the slot and possibly using a 3rd or 4th rounder on a WR.

My dream draft right now: (Assuming we get D Jax and re-sign Fletcher and Carriker)

1st: Barkley or RGIII
2nd: Donta Hightower
3rd: LaMichael James/ or top CB available
4th: OL
4th: WR
5th: Kellen Moore
6th: OL
6th: CB
7th: DL

The only big name free agent receiver I would be interested in is Bowe. He is young, big, red zone threat. We are building a high character team we don't need a guy like D. Jackson. He is overrated anyways. Receivers out of college take the longest usually to get going, so signing a vet instead would not be a bad idea. Hankerson, Bowe, Moss would be an awesome starting WR core. I hope we keep Gaffney too, I like him as a solid role player.

I would be happy in the 1st round if we got Luck, Barkley, RGIII, or Claiborne.

Assuming No FA Signings my ideal draft by position would be:
1st Round: QB
2nd Round: CB
3rd Round: ILB
4th Round: Best OG/OT available
5th Round: Either G or T, whichever we didnt choose in the 4th
6th Round: RB
7th Round: Best Player left on the board

I originally wanted to draft a WR but I kind of backed off on that. I think we'll be ok next year if Hankerson comes back healthy. Hankerson, Moss, Gaffney, Paul, Armstrong/Austin would be solid. Or signing Bowe would be sweet.

Let me edit a few changes:

Add Paul to the WR list
Cut Torain and add Royster (we still haven't seen what he can do)
RT- should be a draft pick or FA if available or both
QB- should be our 1st pick
CB- they should draft one with the 2nd pick
Lorenzo Alexander- should be kept, he's a great ST player and can backup many positions if needed. I would try to convert him as a G, he looked good when backed up during injuries a few years ago.

I want us to sign a WR. Armstrong sucks, as does Austin and I dont believe that Niles Paul will be anything more than a special teamer and while getting Bowe would be nice. I prefer DeSean Jackson.

AA was a 1 hit wonder and Moss is old.. Our WR Corp. is as bad as it gets. I can't even trust HANK now, heck he got injured in his first start!
