Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Mike Jones just reported he'll play; Stallworth is inactive. Thought it was thread worthy seeing he's been riding the pine all season.
|
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Yes! Hopefully he gets on the field
|
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Wouldn't be surprised to see the guys that have been working with Beck all season on the field. Hopefully he gets some balls, and holds on to them!
|
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
If he doesn't go over 150 yards and score 3 TDs, he's a scrub and should be cut. :cheeky-sm
|
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
I am looking forward to see what he can do with the ball in his hands. I believe he was one of the best steals this draft lets hope so, nothing wrong with getting younger. HTTR

Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Ok, son....show us your mettle.

But if he does, he and Beck are leading us to the Superbowl:food-smil |

Go Mr. Hanky!

I hope your right. I hope the young guys get in there and make an impact. |

All aboard the Beckerson bus. Superbowl or Bust!!!!:headbange |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Big time opportunity here, he better take advantage of that
|
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Yippee.
After six weeks of nothing to do but study the playbook, I was hoping for more. (And no, I'm not calling for him to be cut.) |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
we saw in preseason that he was not ready to play in the nfl, im not surprised he got very little time on the field

El oh el :) |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
..and now we see why he's been inactive this whole time. Keep him inactive until he can learn to run the proper routes.

This. Niles Paul should get more opps, but now w/ Tana injured the WR corp is that much more pathetic :( |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Stallworth made Beck look good throughout the preseason. Why sit him?
|
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
From what I gathered after the game, seemed like Beck he made the call to go to Hankerson on that INT. Which I thought was probably the wrong thing to do. But he also said that probably wasn't the right decision to make. Which I thought was the right thing to say.
|
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Hankerson clearly has some growing up to do, on and off the field.
|
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
I love drafting receivers. :banghead:
|
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Beck took the blame for that play today, as he did last night. Whether it was all his fault (which it probably wasn't) doesn't matter. That he stepped up and took the heat does.
And people seem to have a very loose view of "bitching and moaning" in my opinion |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
I thought Hankerson was the biggest steal of the draft?

Who would you have rather drafted? Jon Baldwin hasn't seen the field. Titus Young has 200 yards, playing with Stafford and Megatron... And getting plenty of opportunities. Torrey Smith is doing terrific. Former Terp... Would have been a wise choice, but a reach at 41 (Jenkins). Greg Little is getting opportunities and doing well. Randall Cobb dropped a huge catch yesterday and might not see the field outside of returns for a while.. Not to mention Aaron Rodgers isn't fair, he could make Dante Stallworth the leagues touchdown leader. Austin Pettis has shown absolutely nothing. --- People who were available when we picked a receiver ---- Leonard Hankerson ....:Flush: Jerrel Jernigan hasn't caught a pass despite injuries early for the Giants Kris Durham hasn't done anything Edmond Gates .... nothing Greg Salas saw him drop quite a few passes, but lately has been quite good Basically you get the point... It's easy to say our receivers are busts, but A) They don't get chances and B) Their fellow rookies aren't exactly lighting it up aside from Green and Jones |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Not giving up on Hank by any means but getting kind of annoyed with him. I am realizing that it might not be a good idea to follow the Redskins on twitter. he can't even get active on gameday yet I got to see his tweets about looking for people to play Madden with online. How about getting your arse to Redskins park and doing some extra work with the QB's or some film study. Surely as a rookie WR trying to get up to speed to contribute there is a better way to use your time on a weekday afternoon. Maybe he's working 20 hours a day at his craft and the twitter account is giving off a false vibe but it appears that he's not doing all he can do to get on the field.

Using this logic Niles Paul needs to really start doing work because this guy tweets about twice an hour. |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Way too many assumptions are made about players based on what you occasionally see on Twitter
He didn't tweet at all between mid September to early October. And now tweets once every three or four days. What's the harm? |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Sounding like Moss out 4 weeks...if anyone's interested. Don't know for sure yet...and now back to Hankerson

Damn. Well we couldn't have expected his luck to last forever. We used to call Moss injury prone back in the day, before he put together an excellent stretch of mostly healthy seasons (minus standard bumps and bruises that every player accumulates). Now we get to see how much we're going to miss him with him out. Well if there ever was a time for the young ones to step up, it's now. |

He had never been active for a game before yesterday and there is a perception that the reason is that he doesn't know the offense as well as the other WR's. It also doesn't help that he is the biggest WR they have and his presense is desperately needed in the redzone. So yes...Not gonna lie...the thoguht of him sitting around playing video games bugs me. |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
Like a lot of rookies Hank needs to learn how to be a pro. So far he's been a major disappointment.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree I guess. Seems to me like you think he doesn't have the right to take a break every now and then. |

It's ok for folks to take a short break for the mind to rejuvenate itself. It is not ok for playtime to be prioritized over work. We do not know his schedule to make a definitive conclusion on what the case is the actual one. |

I don't get why people get their panties on a bunch over this situation. I saw Hanks' tweets, and to me he could have said worst things. In the end, this isn't about one guy, it's a whole team situation. This guy is still a kid and there are more stupid things he could have done. Personally, I think he needs to get his act together on the field, he's a physically gifted WR that we could use. But this whole twitter non-drama is a non-issue for me. |

Exactly right. Personally I'm not a fan of twitter. I don't see how anything good can ever come from an NFL player tweeting. But it's not like these guys are required to be immersed in their job 24 hours a day. Him shooting out a few tweets in his free time is no different from another player taking some free time to read a book or play with their kids. They're human beings. With that said, the learning curve at WR from college to pro is one of the steepest of any position. I certainly hope Hank is putting in the extra time needed to be successful as quickly as possible. |

Any position besides WR (or punter). |

A QB would have been nice. At that point, Mallett was available...maybe Kaepernick? |
Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
I find it kind of humorous when we blast a player for not dedicating every second of their time to improving themselves professionally when none of us do. Because if we did...there'd be almost no one posting here during the day. I'm the exception since this is sports related :)

Re: Leonard Hankerson active vs Panthers
We have to find a "playmaker" somewhere along the line, and this guy seemed to have that ability if we could get him on track. Unfortunately, the Skins have not been very good at doing that.

I think whoever started the "Stephon Heyer Memorial Thread" needs to improve their posting skills. LOL. |
