Yeah, I think I'll wait until we've seen at least a couple of weeks of preseason games before making any sort of predictions

I don't know about Indianapolis they go as PM goes and he does not look good, he looks like he's one good hit away from retirement IMO.

I was predicting 17-0... That doesn't even include the playoff victories, purely regular season.

"Fans are excited about the possibility of an 18 game season." Yes Roger if 2 of those games are playoff games.

Your "projections" seem kind of small. Let's see if a real set helps you out any.

AFC
1. New England
2. Pittsburgh
3. New York Jets
4. Indianapolis
5. Jacksonville
6. Kansas City

NFC
1. Green Bay
2. Atlanta
3. Philly
4. New Orleans
5. Detroit
6. St. Louis

Remember though it's impossible for two teams in the same division to be in the top 4 seeds. Jets can't be 3 to the Pats 1 and the Saints can't be 4 to the Falcons 2.

I still maintain that the reasons Vinny failed using this strategy is in the two years he had complete control he didn't have a quality coaching staff and he didn't have a core or players. The only real starters that the Eagles are adding is an elite corner that has no work ethic problems, a quality Right Tackle to protect Vicks blindside, and a Defensive Tackle. Everyone else is either just a temporary starter until someone else gets better (Jason Babin for Brandon Grahm) or a great backup option (See Ronnie Brown, Vince Young).

Comparing the Eagles Free Agent frenzy to that of the Skins is like comparing Apples to Oranges.

NFC
1.) Green Bay
2.) Philly
3.) ATL
4.) St. Louis
5.) Washington
6.) Carolina (Yes I said it)

WSH 31 STL 17 in WC
CAR 20 ATL 17 in WC

WSH 28 Philly 21 in Divisional
GB 42 CAR 13 in Divisional

I'll leave it at that.

Washington at Green Bay for the NFC Championship.

Well, they do have a good secondary...

But seriously, I doubt Newtonium or Jimmy-boy is going to wow anyone and Steve Smith is probably going to get injured again. So all teams have to do is stack 8-in-the-box and be done with them.

Sorry to put this on this thread but you need to watch the NFL channel and see Steve Mariucci speak about the Redskins/MS/BA plan good stuff.

Add another game in the CBA just so the skins can go 17-0 in the regular season

No, I just count the bye week as a win. It's like the free space on a bingo board.

GTripp0012 08-03-2011 10:07 PM

Re: 2011 Playoff Projections

I'm going with my system until I see the preseason. I can usually improve on these projections by adding bits and pieces of information I pick up from the preseason.

AFC:
1. Steelers
2. Colts
3. Patriots
4. Chargers
5. Ravens
6. Texans

NFC:
1. Saints
2. Packers
3. Eagles
4. Cardinals
5. Giants
6. Cowboys

Good news for the Redskins here, if they can get to third place, it might be good enough for a totally not deserved playoff spot. It's going to be tough to stay out of the cellar this year, but 9-7 in this division probably does it.

Re: 2011 Playoff Projections

God the Raiders are just totally loaded at the wide receiver position. I'm almost certain they're going to find a way to make the playoffs. There's just no spot for them in my projections: the Chargers win the West, the Ravens and the Steelers play fictitiously easy schedules this year (as do the far less talented Browns), and the system really likes the Texans defense (seriously). So that's six playoff teams right there. I just think the Raiders are loaded.

really? or are you being sarcastic?

Re: 2011 Playoff Projections
really? or are you being sarcastic?
I was being serious. If you throw DHB out of the equation, it's Jacoby Ford, Chaz Schilens, Louis Murphy and they've got Denarius Moore as well. Sure, that's not the Packers level of dominant, but who is? The big thing for the Raiders, re: loaded is that everyone is 25 or younger.

They also are loaded in the front seven, but that's more well known, I believe. Their OL projection is holding them back. They might not be able to block anyone all year.
