It is finally winter
Ah, nothing better than winter. Football games in the snow. Single digit temps at the frozen tundra. There is nothing better than it. Oh byt the way supposed to snow tonight not much, but winter is finally here. Any one watching games today I recommend the San Diego vs. Cleveland game. Snowing like crazy and there are wind gusts up 30 mph. That is what I am talking about.
|
They must be playing in San Diego!
|
No doubt. Glad to see New Endland has home field advantage. Got to love the 10 degree games. Not too many people with their shirts off then.
|
Pitt has homefield as of now.

I am in the minority here.. I HATE winter.. I love Christmas, but I hate cold weather and snow.. I grew up in upstate NY so I've had my fill of cold and snow.. I'm moving as far south as I can next month, Miami here I come!
|
Paintrain: I'm only applying to colleges in states that border the gulf! I only live in Virginia and I'm somewhat sick of snow. I like it from time to time, but not tout le temps!

Trust me, you're not in the minority. If you are you've got company in me |
Winter stinks, I hate the holidays and I hate the snow and cold. Yeah I'm a grinch I guess. LOL
The only good thing about winter is it makes you appreciate the summer more. |
I'm from upstate NY so I'm with everyone. I hate the snow. Christmas day i like it but all other 364 days of the year I can do without it.
|
wtf, its not 75 degrees everyday for you guys?
|
Go to hell jamf!!!
jk |
wtf, its not 75 degrees everyday for you guys?
Jerk. ;) |
wtf, its not 75 degrees everyday for you guys?
LOL try 27 degrees and snowing :vomit-smi |
Winter stinks, I hate the holidays and I hate the snow and cold. Yeah I'm a grinch I guess. LOL
Call me Grinch #2. Don't even get me started about the winter. It's been snowing non-stop for days, it's FREEZING, it gets dark at 4pm, I haven't seen the sun since August. I might be the only guy on earth in favor of global warming. The bottom line - winter is a sham. |
Yeah, I'm really struggling like Jamf, temp is a balmy 75F, women are still sporting ultra short skirts.......long tanned legs.....summer dresses........long tanned legs.
I love Southern Cali! |
It topped out at 10 degrees here today, and with the wind it was well below zero!
|
I wouldn't get out of bed on a day like that. I have enough of a problem when my morning Margeurita isn't stirred to my liking.
|
only think I hate about the winter is the early sunsets. I'm not sure if I could live someplace where it was practically the same temperature year round
|

Yeah, Cush, it plays havoc with your wardrobe.....do I wear the T-shit and jeans or the T-shirt and chino's.......Tough. I can't live anywhere where the snow can reach my testicles and make them icicles. Just plain bad. |
In a former life, I had to spend a lot of time in suburban Minneapolis/St. Paul - - including in the dead of winter. I always used to kid my colleagues who lived there that the weather forecast for Minneapolis for every single day between November 15 and April 15 was the same:
MInus 23 - - Clear - - Still Translation: The temperature is MINUS 23 and the snow is CLEAR up to your ass and Still falling... |
i don't mind the snow...it's the damn windchill i can't stand. today it was in the single digits for most of the day which is not to hard to deal with...but the damn wind made it feel like -20's....god i hate that.
|
man I would have never guessed that we have so many grinches on this site. Im sad that ill be missing snow again this year. Next year ill be back in the snow, and perhaps be upset after a few storms. But you can only go to the beach so many times before you start to miss it.
|
Yeah, but Canes you and I are from Maryland. We'll see as much snow in one month here as the upstate New Yorkers will see in a day.
Snow here isn't nearly the nuisance that it is up there |
Maryland usually gets a lot of big storms. I grew up in Frederick county so I usually got about the same as new york. Its amazing how much less snow the dc area, and bethesda got compared to me. Its only like 30 miles apart, but I guess those 30 miles north, closer to the mountains makes a difference.

Maybe someone from upstate NY (Matty, NY_Skinsfan) can confirm this but I'm almost positive that the amount of snow they get is ridiculous. Keep in mind they don't live in New York City, they're way up there in New York. Big difference....I think

I can vigorously confirm this.. True story, 10th grade (back in 1986) we got 18 inches of snow from Sunday morning until it stopped about 10pm Sunday night in Schenectady, NY.. 7:30am Monday morning I was walking my cold @ss to school.. I had many a Little League baseball game cancelled well into April because it was snowing outside. The last high school football game I played in was on a Friday night in early November, 2 inches of snow fell during the game. If I ever hear the term "Nor'easter" again I will probably soil myself. |
Look when it's 98 degrees from May until mid September we Texans LIVE for "winter"....
I just love it when it gets cold.....why theirs even talk that we might get snow flurries Christmas Eve........a big deal for us here in South Texas........ Lows are going to be in the 20's and highs in the 40's and 50's....finally feels like Christmas..... P.S. I love watching those NFL snow games too................brings out a kid in the players when there's a soft snow falling during a game.... I have a relative that lives in upstate NY it's always cold, always a lot of snow even in April.............. |

I have relatives that live in upstate NY (saratoga springs) and they have white outs and lot's of snow.....even at the end of April still snowy........They make fun of us in Texas when it hits in the 20's........cold for us......they tell me it's 20 below up there.......not too far from Canada............. |
I live in the Albany area so we don't get as much snow as the Buffalo area, if you want a ridiculous winter just move there. Lake effect snow, not a good thing.
Still, we have our share of storms each winter where we get 2-3 feet dumped on us in one shot. |

three winters ago on christmas day we got three feet of snow. one week later we got two more feet of snow. that was a little bit too much for me. as matty has stated, the worst place to live is just northeast of buffalo...lake effect snow is a big pain in the ass.

So this morning....I pull into my driveway and notice that it's a bit icy. I get out of my car and almost slide down my driveway. I grab onto the door of my car and the next thing I know the car and myself are slowly sliding down the driveway. I had to hop back into the car and let the car turn a full 180 degrees so I could get control of it as it went to the bottom of the driveway. What a great start to the morning.
Gotta love winter. |
I guess we can call this our official weather thread LOL
Yeah it was really slick in my parking lot this morning too, NY_Skinsfan |
You guys think you have it rough? I had to reapply sunscreen twice already today and my Martini was almost tepid!
|
I got a foot of snow where I live. Took about a half hour to get out of my drive today. Luckily there were kids playing across the street from me and helped me out. It sure is great for Christmas. I can keep my beer cold in the snow now.
