Now What??
So we just suffered possibly the worst loss in franchise history, and have dropped to 1-2 (could very easily be 0-3). The offense looks flat out bad, and the defense got gassed big time, especially in the 1st half. And our secondary is pretty darn bad by the way.
So, what do we do? Knee jerk is to just fire Zorn. We don't just look average, we look lost, uninspired, and we seem to be regressing. That's on the coach. If you're calling the shots, what do you do to fix the Redskins? Measured steps? Blow it all up and start over? Obviously our current path isn't working at all, on either side of the ball. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.... |
Re: Now What??
Can't fire Zorn unless you are ready to toss in the towel on the entire season.
|
Re: Now What??
Emotions are so high right now I'm not so sure anyone is ready to offer up an opinion.

We lost to the lions, im pretty sure the towel has been tossed |

I say sticking with Zorn is like tossing in the towel,is there a worse coach in the nfl? not in my mind.I dont give a shit who the interim is,it would be hard to be as bad as Zorn |
Re: Now What??
Zorn must go w/o question. I'm not advocating a new coach brought in...make Buges the interim HC for the season or something similar. The important thing is to get Zorn as far away from the headset as possible. His playcalling and overall coaching performance is like a cancer...it just spreads the worst possible scenarios around the field every time we get the ball.

Re: Now What??
Can't fire Zorn unless you are ready to toss in the towel on the entire season.
this is true, but a few months in advance to maybe look at other coaches, or evaluate players might help this team |
Re: Now What??
You probably don't want to fire Zorn before the second home game, but if you start 1-3, you can't really afford to waste the rest of the season.
Really though, the only other coach on the staff who is qualified to be a head coach is Jerry Gray. You can't get rid of Zorn and keep Blache. This team is poorly coached because of the both of them. |
Re: Now What??
should have traded up for sanchize
|
Re: Now What??
If I'm Danny, I am calling my man JG, and looking for some wisdom. I seriously would begin to evaluate what to keep and what (and who) to toss. Barring MAJOR positive change in the near future, I would execute that plan.
I personally think I would be looking at ditching Vinnie, and go from there. Start or consider a sweep of some kind from the top. Keep the good pieces and look at losing the not so good. For the money and time Danny has in this team.....the results ARE NOT THERE.. |

Gotta agree with that. I don't think canning him right now would make us any better, but I also don't think we're going to get any better with him around either. To me, accepting that penalty on 3rd down in the first half shows me Zorn's acumen, or lack thereof. My big toe knows enough to decline that penalty and force a 4th down. |
Re: Now What??
I wouldn't do anything. You can't make things better when the season is being played. Right now we just have to keep plugging away and then make the changes at the end of the year. I think Zorn needs to be fired but not til the end of the year.

Wow... blame it on Campbell who has been decent this year... Amazing. Maybe, just maybe we should be looking at the play calling and the coaches overall. With Sanchez this team would just be plain disgusting(more so then they are already). This coaching staff would've ruined Sanchez. |

This team has no **** drive, doesnt look jakked up, doesnt look ready to play. They just look like they dont care. They go through this happy grab ass training camp, and just look lazy. I'm so pissed off right now. Theres not a single player on this team who I feel can look in the mirror. Not Cooley, not Portis, not a god damn one of them. |
Re: Now What??
Time to start looking into new head coaches.

All of what we saw today was not on Zorn, these players need to take a long hard look. |
Re: Now What??
i think its time for zorn to go. his play calling the redzone is awful, he doesnt run the ball which i think this team is built to do and last play of the game why not take a shot at the end zone
|
Re: Now What??
Gosh,
Well whatever they didn't get creamed thats the good point. The lions got Lucky and scored those two touchdowns...Next time i guess...But good for the lions..lol it looks like they just won the superbowl ROFL |
Re: Now What??
Campbell's having a great year throwing the football, but his ball protection is a major issue. Detroit could have blown us out if that ball didn't bounce back to him three times.
|
Re: Now What??
Fire Blache, promote Gray and cut Betts. The team spent $153 mil on defense and teams move the ball all over the place. INEXCUSABLE!!!
|
Re: Now What??
Can't say I'm surprised.
I could have told you after the giants game that we weren't going to be competitive this year. The rams game just affirmed it. This lions game just showed it. I'd be more upset if I already didn't see this coming. |

He can do the job and is more than qualified to take over if needed. |

I'm pretty sure the players are this close to revolting and tossing in the towel on the season. And if they aren't I'm pretty sure Danny boy is. |

I agree |
Re: Now What??
simple answer bro... Fire Jim Zorn and get a New QB next yr... But mainly Zorn must go, this is so embarrasing, i'm not wearing any skins clothes in public for a month!!!

Re: Now What??
should have traded up for sanchize
Zorn went 4 it on 4th down right? not JC Zorn declined the penalty so the lions could score right? not JC so that added 4 points to the score which would have made it a 14-15 field goal game!!! But yet it is JC's fault!!! Draft a brain!!! |

Re: Now What??
I'm more happy for the Lions than I am pissed off about the Redskins. Game Tape reviews are going to be a pain in the ass if I'm completely indifferent about this team.
|
Re: Now What??
Alright, there are a couple of options if you have a smart person running this franchise(not HC but overall franchise). Firing Zorn is not an option at this point in the season. But what I would do first of all if I was Snyder is call Zorn into my office. I would sit down with him and say look, you aren't getting it done. Now I've got 3 options here for you. 1. You Resign. 2. I fire you or 3. You give up the play calling duties so you can focus on the tangibles. If you want to make some of the calls, thats your perogative as the HC, but I want someone else calling the plays. This team is talented and you are not exploiting the talent with your play calling.
|
Re: Now What??
I seriously don't know what should happen, but I know what will happen, Jim Zorn will be in the unemployment line Monday while Joe Bugel is appointed to interim head coach (I don't think Greg Blache because when next years coach come Snyder will want Blache as D-Cord).

Just cause we spend money doesn't mean we have players. Fire the guy that's picking the players. |

It's awful..... They need strong leaders which is clear they don't have. Zorn looks like he was crying. |

Blache blows as DC, for a D with 2 players making $153 mil they sure are not getting their money's worth. |
Re: Now What??
The whole team sucks, you all bash belicheck, but theres no way he would let them pay 100 mil for one player, he trades ex starts for future first round picks and we give jason taylor a 2nd for one year. What a joke of a franchise

very true....but this team so desperately needs a future in any form...it needs a sanchez or a mike tomlin, it needs a ap or whoever |
Re: Now What??
We looked a hell of a lot worse through the first three games in '01. I'm not suggesting that we'll turn this around and win 8 of our last 11 or anything, but we might as well wait until the end of the season to make any huge changes.
And it needs to be said, even if Zorn is the worst coach in the history of the NFL, we need to remember that the game is played on the field, not on the sidelines. The players are as responsible as any of the coaches. |

I second that too!! Vinny didn't address our OL in the off season. |
Re: Now What??
I'd like to see Trevor Matich kick Blache's ass right about now.
