This is how I feel -- if you want to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, invite us when we don't win the Super Bowl. As far as I'm concerned, he [Obama] would've invited Arizona if they had won.
Uh, yeah? Luckily Harrison's psychosis apparently helps him sack NFL quarterbacks.

Wow that's pretty lul. Will he accept his super bowl ring, i hear if Arizona won they would have gotten the rings instead.

I really think Harrison is retarded. Its a honor to go to the White House and meet the President. Its one of the highest honors in this Country and hes knocking it because they only want the Steelers there because they won the SB.

Well duh. They cant invite every team from every league every year to the White House. Its also a reward for being a great team and winning your leagues championship. You have to accomplish something to get this high honor. Its not handed to just anyone. Harrison should feel honored that the White House honors a team for winning a game played by kids since theres alot of vets from wars and other heros here in the States who probably deserve the honor more.

I really think Harrsion has little common sense. Its also really shocking that he wouldnt want to meet Obama who is this Countrys first Africian American President.

Another observation about Harrison and the NFL in general.

The NFL steroid testing program still isn't all that effective IMO.

New generation hard to detect steroids(HGH etc.) are coursing through the veins of far far too may players IMO.

Harrison was too small to stick in the NFL and struggled to make it in the league even getting cut four times and now he is a monster NFL defensive MVP? That just doesn't happen.

I would bet large cash that Harrison is guilty of using performance enhancers in a big way. Dude has violent outbursts all the time and he grew in size like the Hulk.

Check out this article on a long longtime former Steelers doctor and try and tell me Harrison couldn't possibly be a product of the juice.

What a moron.

Is Harrison even stating a political stance here? And why does this deserve to be in the news?

Does he even know that it is customary to invite people who have done exemplary things to the White House?...Effing Forrest Gump was smart enough to know that and attend like 4 times. Harrison doesn't have the brain capacity to understand that the White House has no loyal rooting interests being that it symbolizes a national government.

I don't know why this is a story why we have to be subjected to it because it is moronic and doesn't make damn sense.

Well this guy is a Prime Example of an Overnight star getting a Cocky ass attitude. Harrison is a very average player who didn't do shit his whole career and now he wants all the attention! Let's face it, he shouldn't have won the D MVP it should have been WARE.

After thinking about this some more I wondered what some of his Steeler teammates think about this. Id love to hear what players like Big Ben or Polamalu have to say about Harrison.

I try not to think about it. I hate roids in sports and I have a feeling you are correct.

Ive always been afraid the Skins would win the SB for the first time since 1991 and then we would find out half the team was on roids.

Re: James Harrison Says Obama Only Wants Him For His Ring

He should go to the White House. If he chooses not to, I don't think it means that he's on steroids. He may well be, who knows. Steroids was a huge problem in football that was never really dealt with that then magically became a baseball problem. Football steroids go back to the early 60s, Lyle Alzado, etc. . It never stopped. Franck Wychek failed a test in 1994 and was shipped out of Ashburn. He was drafted as a TE and Norv wanted him to be a fullback. All the while it has been ignored. It's so obvious that professional football is awash in steroids compared to baseball which gets all the heat. Totally bizarre. College offensive lines that are averaging 320 pounds? The original Hogs featured Center Jeff Bostic who weighed 253 lbs. The heaviest man was Jacoby at 305.

Thats insane. I didnt start watching the Skins til 96. I knew we drafted Wycheck before I started watching them in 93 and a couple seasons later he was released. I loved watching him as a Oiler and a Titan. I never knew he was suspended while a Redskin for steroid use. I guess you learn something new everyday.

The President doesn't want Harrison, its a White House tradition to invite the Super Bowl Champions to the White House. This is a invite to the Pittsburg Steelers football team. If he had any class and he did not want to attend than he should keep his mouth shut. I'm sure the Steelers organization would not want to the negative attention. I'm sure the Steelers could have come up with a excuse for him to miss the invite. I guess meeting the President to him does mean anything. The lights on but nobodys home.

I officially hate this guy...he shouldn't of been able to return that int for a TD in the super bowl, he's a big asshole beating up that guy in the SB while the guy was defensless on the ground, and he's only good, because he plays in that system where his job is to go after the QB, and yes Ware is better than this nut job...
Question James, when is a good time for you to go to the white house, have you been going all the years the steelers haven't gone to a super bowl?

Is anyone here truly surprised that James Harrison - - and the vast majority of NFL players - - are not candidates for the MENSA Society?

Statistically speaking, if you drew a name from a hat that contained the names of everyone on an NFL roster, the chances of picking out the name of someone who is "less than fully sophisticated" are pretty damned good.

It is Harrison's choice whether or not to attend the WH ceremony. It is Harrison's choice to speak out on this matter.

It is NOT Harrison's choice as to how people will take his remarks and draw their own conclusions about him based on those remarks.

My conclusion: MEATHEAD !!

I worked at the White House from 1996-1998, when the sports teams visit, generally only about 1/2 of the pro rosters show, most all of the college guys come. When Dallas visited, Emmett came but no Irvin or Aikmen, then again it was the third time in the 90s they were there.

Like others said that is fine. Personally I think you have to be retarded to miss an opportunity like that but Harrison's reasoning makes him sound really really stupid.

Any of those are acceptable as long as any NA reference is not used, to include Arrowheads, Tomahawks, and Feathers.

Futhermore, the NFL cannot decide to expand any NFL franchises to cities with American Indian names, like Milwaukee, Chattanooga, or Tallahassee.

God, I just realized that May might be the worst month for NFL discussion throughout the year. At this point we have no OTA's, the draft is over, and training camp is still coming up.

Re: James Harrison Says Obama Only Wants Him For His Ring

I am truely puzzled by this. I am NOT a democrat, or an obama lover, in fact quite the opposite (I know...shocker), but I would go to the White House to meet the president. I am left shaking my head cause as others have mentioned, this is an HONOR BECAUSE you won the SB. No one wants the Lions to show up at the white house. Should Hansbrough have turned down that opportunity as well after UNC won it all? (of course he would be labelled a racist if he tossed up that dumbass excuse that Harrison did)
I guarentee Harrison has complained about equality at some point in his life, and here is your chance to thank Obama for fighting through adversity for your race and you decline because you're a...winner???? You won Harrison...you're going to see someone, who won! Where is the mental fart here?
