Braylon Edwards trade talk
It was just speculated by Comcast Sports that the Browns might want to move a slightly disgruntled Edwards for a package.. Would you see the Skins
trying for that angle with next years picks( maybe like a 2nd and 3rd again) or just leaving it alone and maturing Thomas and Kelly? |
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
No way, we have to stop mortgaging our picks.. Beside if we trade for Edwards, we now would have Edwards, Moss, Randle El, Kelly, and Thomas.. There would be no room for Kelly and Thomas to get enriched with experiences..
|
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
This feels like deja vu all over again. Haven't we discussed this already?
Anyhow, no. Let's give Thomas and Kelly a shot |

Anyhow, no. Let's give Thomas and Kelly a shot
LOL SS We've discussed every WR that has "asked" or "looks like a canidate to be traded". No I don't see us trading or drafting a WR in this draft. |
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
I remember last year at this time everyone was pushing for Anthony Mix to get the nod at the #2 receiver spot.
|
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Yep. Mix. fell from obscurity. No where to be found. Along with the Giants WR Monk. Atleast Mauice Mann was smart enough to go to Canada to get better. lol.

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Butter Fingers? LOL.

It's pretty easy to get hyped up about something so little, I guess lol |

Yeah no kidding. He hasn't shown he is much more valuable than a bunch of other "options" that have been out here for a while. I'd love for NY to trade for him. I think he is a decent WR, major physical upside, but can't catch a cold sometimes which is like an RB falling down everytime he tries to run. |
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
I think Edwards to the Giants is all but a lock (barring some last minute surprise like the Raiders swooping in), at which point SFRedskin will declare Edwards the greatest WR to ever don an NFL jersey

Actually that's when everyone will ride NY's jock(taking a break to get off of Philly's) about how great a FO they have. |
I think Edwards to the Giants is all but a lock (barring some last minute surprise like the Raiders swooping in), at which point SFRedskin will declare Edwards the greatest WR to ever don an NFL jersey
A few Giants fans I have talked to hate this idea. They would be willing to give up half of their draft pick for Boldin, but don't want to give up much for Edwards. The biggest reason I have heard is Edwards wants a new deal NOW. He wants huge money and IMO thats just not smart. How can you justify a Fitzgerald type deal for the guy who dropped more passes than anyone else in the league? He has always had bad hands and a simple change of scenery isnt going to help that.

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Braylon? No way he ends up in DC.

That says it all. |
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
i cant believe you guys don't want Edwards? i don't , either. but when it comes to someone else's trash, we always seem to be first in line

He is in his prime, wait 5 years and we'll give up multiple draft picks for him. LOL |
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Don't we already have wideouts that drop the ball?
|
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Why would we want Rod Gardner part II?
|
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Why would we want Rod Gardner part II?
understood about the drops, but Edwards has much more burst & speed, more athletic & gets open downfield. If his drops are a matter of concentration & focus, then it can be corrected. On the other hand, if he's dropping a lot cause he's not that comfortable in traffic (M. Westbrook comes to mind), his habit is likely to continue. I certainly don't want edwards, especially w/our situation, give the young guys a chance. but at the right price he could be a serious playmaker for the right team. Hope he doesn't end up in the nfc east. |
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
He's dropped balls his whole career going back to Michigan. Somehow I doubt it's something that's going to be corrected by switching teams. He just doesn't have reliable hands.

lol I'm glad at least one other person has made this comparison |
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Man this is a rough crowd in here today!:) Very few Giant Fans want Boldin...he's a TO type and the only reason he's any good at all is becuase he has LF on the otherside. As for Edwards lets not forget Plax had a dropping the ball thing going on in Pittsburgh also when he came to NY,Edwards hasn't had the best of the QB's and OC to work with either.
IMOP....I wouldn't be surprised to see the Giants not do the trade and just move up to get another need, maybe a Top flight TE or a Lber from USC:goodjob: |

Please take Edwards, Giants.

Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Edwards sucks monkey balls. A huge underachiever and disappointment for Cleveland, so why do you think it would do us any good in bringing him here? If we really wanted a WR we would have gone for Holt or Boldin. Mortgaging future draft picks even for them would be moronic with all the holes we have to plug, so why would we mortgage our future for the likes of Edwards?
|

Yeah, Edwards could drop easy ones in the Big House on any given Saturday. He was a star for the Woverines, but that isn't saying much nowadays. Ever since Schembechler left that program has slowly slid downhill til what you got 2 years ago and the ASU debacle. I laughed my ass off on that one!!!!!!! Buckeye fans were calling that game the greatest Buckeye victory ever!!!! |
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Meanwhile, the Eagles may get Gonzalez. Wonder what they would have to give up for him

I don't think this thread is suggesting Edwards is coming here. Giants are more likely(I HOPE!). If we were to trade anything or anyone for a WR, I hope it would be Boldin. PS Edwards is a scrub, I want the gynants to get him, and for a lot of picks too. |

Then you guys take him!The Giants don't feel this is as big a deal as everyone outside the organization.I'll be fine if we just draft someone and go on from there.Reese is a very good GM ..............I trust him,he hasn't screwed up yet. |

The Giants have a lot of picks to use ,10. |

I agree. Boldin has been a heck of a receiver. He runs good routes, catches well, and is as tough as nails. But he lacks the burning speed to stretch the field that you want in a #1. |

An ass like the one you guys just released? I know the Giants are not known for having headcases, but between Shockey and Burress (and some may say Tiki) your team has picked up a couple of pricks lately. |
Re: Braylon Edwards trade talk
Smootsmack:
I hear they are offering a third round pick and the Chiefs want a second round pick. That's supposedly the hang-up on the deal. Matty: Agree that Braylon Edwards looks a lot like Rod Gardner II - - and to be clear, that is NOT a good thing. NO way the Skins should trade for him even if the asking price is a third and a fifth - - which is less than what the Giants are supposedly offering. HOW-EVAH, based on last year and what we saw on the field of play on Sundays, the Skins might - I said might - have Rod Gardner II on their roster as we speak. Malcom Kelly dropped several balls that hit him on both hands. So, looking forward, how long does Kelly get before having that label hung on him permanently? [I'm not ready to do it just yet, but the drops were there last year on Sunday when it mattered...] Everyone: As I said elsewhere, IF the price for Boldin is a first and a third - - as rumored - - then I would not pay that price. Boldin is a fine WR; he is much better than Edwards. But he is not worth that price at 29 years old with an injury history that has only allowed him to play in 16 games twice in his six year career. |
