Nice win without two of your top offensive weapons Giantone. Who do we play next? I hope the team that lost to Cleveland in week 6. :)

First thing I want to know: Will Brandon Jacobs play against the Skins?
Second thing I want to know: Will Plaxico Burress play against the Skins?

I'm not as worried about Burress now that Springs has returned. Burress destroys us when Springs is out, but not so much otherwise. Jacobs, though...Not sure what the answer is for him. Some kind of sniper, perhaps.

As for Jacobs...I SURE AS HELL HOPE SO!

..as for Burrass,I don't care and I don't think we need him.

We play the New York G-Strings! The Giants have made a serious statement with the way they have played. Can't say anything about this team unless we win. Period.

Here we go again

I'll make it short and sweet.

If Jacobs and Burress do not play, they both said they are day-to-day, then the Skins probably get the W.

They play, and the only way the Skins win is if the Giants just come out and play poorly.

F the bullshit, I'm ready for the Giants. We want the Giants, lively or limping we don't care. I want to see some teeth falling.

Got to punish Jacobs' legs... he needs to be limping at halftime.

I guess we could say the same about our D-line and Portis. Enough BS, I hope they are both healthy to play so there's no excuses if the Skins win.
Sounds like you already have built -in excuses. How bout we just out-play you and win?
Not really, just being objective. Yesterday, I didn't want Jacobs to play as I thought the Giants could easily beat the Cards without him.

The Giants scored 37 points on the road yesterday with no Jacobs or Plaxico. I don't care who is injured, a Skins win is NOT a forgone conclusion by any stretch of the imagination.

That said, this is Sean Taylor week at Redskins park. We will be intensely focused and inspired, and our D is gonna come out looking our for a fist fight. Believe that. Win or lose, this is gonna be a close game IMO.

Rest in Peace Sean.

Re: Here we go again

As much as I love the Redskins, beating the Giants is a big challenge. The Redskin defense has been exposed in the past two weeks against the run. That is the Giants strength. The Redskin defense will have to stop the run or else it will be a long day. The Redskin offense needs to open up and make more plays downfield. This means the offensive line needs to provide more pass protection so Campbell can even attempt to go downfield. The Skins need a healthy Portis and a solid contribution from Betts. The Skins will have to be firing on all cylinders to beat the Giants.

I agree in part,I want Jacobs to play and I think we need him ...Burrass can kiss my butt and we can win without him. This Giants team has stepped up before and risen to the top and can again.I agree we just need to play the game ...allout...who ever wins ,wins .You guys are a good team so is NY and I believe it'll be a good game but at no time do I think the Skins will catch the Giants in the standings ,not now.

Therein lies the key for the Skins - rattle Eli into making bad throws. If Eli gets comfortable in the pocket, it will be a long day.

Cardinals weren't able to make any big plays down the field. Will be tough for the Skins.

Spence 11-24-2008 12:18 PM

Re: Here we go again

Jacobs is the most important player for the Redskins. Burress burns us when Shawn Springs isn't playing [see this season opener], but Springs does fine against Burress and Springs should be ready to play on Sunday.

Jacobs is a great back. He hurts the Skins, he hurts just about everyone. Stopping him is a major challenge and I don't know that we're up to it. [We couldn't even shut down Maurice Morris -- not a good sign.]

Washington will have to play its best game of the season to defeat the Giants. Whatever our best game of the season has been so far [Cowboys, Eagles], it won't be enough against the Giants. We'll have to do better.

The Giants lost by 3 touchdowns to the Browns and were taken to overtime by the Bengals, so they're not indestructible. [Or maybe they've got some problem with crappy teams from Ohio.] The Redskins are capable of beating the Giants. But it'll take our best effort and best execution. The teams know each other very well and the coaching staffs have had a good long look at one another. The team with the better players on Sunday will win.

The Giants are really impressive. I don't want to hear anyone on this site complain about injuries. The Giants have been CRUSHED by injury. Who thought they'd be doing this with all the not just starters, not stars, out of the lineup. This game could get messy fast if the Redskins don't find an offense.

He's a forgotten man this year, for some reason. About 50 catches, but only 1 TD -- and he caught that one from Antwaan Randle-El. Not sure why Cooley doesn't get better looks in the red zone. I can't help but think the Skins are leaving points on the field by not getting the ball to Cooley in the red zone.

As bad as we looked the first game, we still only lost by 9 points. Obviously the Giants are better, but so are we. I hope we can keep this close.

Key is to get pressure on Eli. Browns did that, and I saw shades of Bad Eli that game.

It might be do to the fact that we are keeping him in to block more.

No. I don't think we have any chance of catching you guys in the standings either. The plan now is to come in 2nd in the NFC east and gain a playoff spot. A win against you guys would go a long way in doing just that. As Gibbs would say, it's going to be a hard fought game and we're going to have to fight our guts out and play supersmart to win. I think we're up to the task, but we shall see. No excuses. Both teams have injuries. (See Signature).

Re: Congratulations from a Giants Fan Ready for Next Sunday

Should be a good game.

The Giants are alot better than I thought they would be offensively and defensively. Until about 3-4 weeks ago i just wasn't sold. I'm sold now. They've got a great oline and great dline, an efficient qb (god, that's hard to say), and a wealth of big time talent and young depth. They are alot like we want to play. I think the biggest reason for they're success is their oline. They're just beasts.

With all that, the skins can still pull out a win. We're at home..which should mean something, we've got a pretty decent team too, we've just got to put it all together. We need some vintage Eli ints and the ability to run on NY's D. It doesn't matter how we win this one, we just need to win.

Didn't Burrass catch the Super Bowl winning TD 10 months ago?

All I want for (an early) Christmas, is a Bad Eli, a Bad Eli and a Bad Eli. We will definitely need Turnovers and Points off of turnovers, to win this game. But win it we must!

A LOT of Giants fans forget this and want to write him off because he was suspended and they still lit up the Seahawks with him out.

Why not give Sellers more plays? He is a big guy that would be hard to stop in the rushing/short passing game.

That same Sellers who dropped the 3rd and inches pass at the end? Sellers is a great blocker who can make an occasional play with the ball in his hand but we are not winning any Super Bowls by building game plans around big Mike.

I was looking at all the NFC East Schedules, and it's looking pretty good for all teams. We play the same weak ass teams we've already seen from the NFC East, and two bonus games. Your Giants are playing pretty good this year, so after we are done with them this week, I hope you guys can get the Wildcard:)

I agree, he was pissing my off this week. However, I wouldn't mind him becoming a 3rd down back every now and then. He can and will move a pile.
