Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

Simple game, rank your confidence level in each individual unit. A = total confidence all the way down to F for no confidence at all.

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan. C+, I'm in a show me mode for JC right now. I have confidence he can get it done, he just needs to go out there and get it done. TC is a solid backup and of course Colt is the best 3rd stringer ever at QB.

Backs: Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Sellers. A, no major worries here at all.

WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Thomas, Kelly. C. Beyond Moss and ARE we have some major question marks here. Moss and ARE are really going to have to show up.

TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder. B+. Very solid. Looking forward to seeing Cooley unleashed in this offense and what Davis can do as well.

OL: Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Heyer, Jansen, Fabini, Rinehart, Geisinger. B+. Good depth and versatility.

DL: Carter, Griffin, Golston, Taylor, Montgomery, Evans, James, Jackson, Alexander, Wilson. B. Again, good depth and versatility.

LB: Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher. B. A lot depends on Rocky's health.

CB: Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon. C+. If Rogers is healthy our top 3 is solid.

S: Landry, Doughty, Horton, Hamilton, Moore. C+. Very young unit, that makes me a little nervous.

ST: Suisham, Brooks, Albright. B. The red snapper brings the average up here.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan.
C - I like the depth, but Jason Campbell is no Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Tony Romo, Drew Brees, or even Eli Manning (yet).

Backs: Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Sellers.
A - studs.

WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Thomas, Kelly.
D - Would have given a C if this were the Gibbs/Saunders offense, but you need more depth than this to run Zorn's offense. Our rookies are very disappointing so far. If not for Santana Moss, this would be an F. This position, along with Campbell, is the make or break for us.

TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder.
A - Can't ask for more.

OL: Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Heyer, Jansen, Fabini, Rinehart, Geisinger.
B - I've got a lot of confidence in each spot, except RT. Satisfactory depth, except at C.

DL: Carter, Griffin, Golston, Taylor, Montgomery, Evans, James, Jackson, Alexander, Wilson.
A- - Serious pass rushers.

LB: Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher.
B - Ditto on the McIntosh health comment by Matty.

CB: Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon
B - I'm happy with this group, I do trust that Rogers is healthy.

S: Landry, Doughty, Horton, Hamilton, Moore
C - One stud and a bunch of guys.

ST: Suisham, Brooks, Albright.
B - Good enough.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan.
C+ - I am a Campbell supporter, but I can't say I have a ton of confidence in the guy. Collins is a great #2 and Brennan is a promising #3.

Backs: Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Sellers.
A - I wouldn't take anyone else's RB corps. This is a great unit from top to bottom.

WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Thomas, Kelly.
C+ - When healthy, Moss is dominant. When ailing, Moss disappears. ARE is a great #3 and decent #2, but I do wonder how he'll fit in this offense. Thrash is a better receiver than people think; I believe he'll have a great year. I have NO faith in the rookies, who either can't get on the field or don't do much when they do suit up. They could turn out to be studs, but they haven't shown me anything that makes me believe they will be solid contributors in 2008.

TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder.
A - As good as it gets.

OL: Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Heyer, Jansen, Fabini, Rinehart, Geisinger.
B - Like Schneed, I trust each player except Heyer. People loved him last year because he was a rookie free agent. I wonder how much people are going to love him now that he is a starter and may not have an extra player help him block on most downs. The depth is much better than it was 5 months ago.

DL: Carter, Griffin, Golston, Taylor, Montgomery, Evans, James, Jackson, Alexander, Wilson.
A- - This unit went from a weakness to a strength. The additions of Taylor, James, and Jackson really improve this unit's depth, experience, and playmaking abilities. Taylor and Carter should be a force on the edge and Griffin and Montgomery/Golston should be sufficient at DT. With Evans, Alexander, Wilson, James, and Jackson as back-ups, our dline should have a great rotation.

LB: Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher.
B - Washington should have another big year, as should Fletcher. McIntosh is a question mark, but he looked good last year prior to injuring his knee. I'd give them a B+, but the depth is pretty sub-par and makes me a bit nervous.

CB: Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon
B+ - I like this group, and will like it more once Rogers fully recovers from his injury. This group has a nice blend of size, speed, youth, and experience. Hopefully, Tryon can justify his roster spot.

S: Landry, Doughty, Horton, Hamilton, Moore
C+ - Landry is a rising star, but I have little confidence in Doughty and don't know enough about the rest to feel good about our SS position.

ST: Suisham, Brooks, Albright.
B - Suisham and Albright are money. Don't believe those who hate on him because of a few missed kicks; he's one of the most accurate kickers in the league. I like Brooks over Frost, but I am taking a wait-and-see approach with him.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan. C+. Like Matty, I'm in a show me you can get it done mode for JC right now. He started off the preseason very promising, but took 10 steps back after the first couple of games.

Backs: Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Sellers. A. We're covered!

WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Thomas, Kelly. C. Again, I agree with Matty, beyond Moss and ARE, we really don't know what we have at WR. The rookie draft picks havent' show us anything to indicate they are upgrades to the receiving corps yet, so who knows?

TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder. B+. I'm thinking Cooley will again be JC's #1 target in this offense. I think Chris will lead the receivers in receiving and yards after catch.

OL: Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Heyer, Jansen, Fabini, Rinehart, Geisinger. B+. Good depth although nothing close to what we had with the hogs. I think our OL will have a decent year though.

DL: Carter, Griffin, Golston, Taylor, Montgomery, Evans, James, Jackson, Alexander, Wilson. C. I think we are finally starting to get some youth to our DL, and certainly Jason Taylor is an upgrade for us. However, I still feel like this is a wait and see for a few of those who are new comers or first year starters, and we need to push out the age.

LB: Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher. B. I think we have one of the better linebacking corps in the league. Once we get all of our starting defense out there on the field at once, you won't see runs like we saw against Carolina.

CB: Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon. C+. I'm cautiously optimistic about our secondary. Smoot is usually a solid CB, although you can make some completions against him. A lot depends on how healthy Carlos Rogers is.

S: Landry, Doughty, Horton, Hamilton, Moore. C+. There might be some growing pains in our secondary, but overall, I think we have the chance to have a very solid secondary as a whole. It's a very young secondary, and if the rest of our defense can follow suit in regards to age, then eventually our defense will become quicker. As always, I see our defense excelling faster than the offense, especially since the defensive philosophy hasn't changed.

ST: Suisham, Brooks, Albright. C+. I want to see Suisham make more clutch field goals on a regular basis. Actually, I just want him to be consistent beyond 40 yards. (Of course he should already be consistent within 40 yards.) I'm nervous about letting Frosty go. I thought he had been a really decent kicker for us up to this point, so Brooks is going to have to show me that he deserves to be the punter. Nothing to say about Albright. The man is usually consistent and dependable and of course he's a pro bowl long snapper.

Overall, I'm quite nervous about this year, because there are some new faces that are going to have to make big splashes early to give this team a chance to have a decent year. I think we're going to have a year of growing pains, but I also think we'll have it all figured out by the end of the season.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

Great thread

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan. C+ Until we see Campbell win, I just wont believe...especially due to his regression in late preseason.

Backs: Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Sellers. B+ Portis is great, Betts is good, Sellers is a beast but has no backup. Cartwright is ok in an emergency.
Mason would have made this an A-

WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Thomas, Kelly. C+ Outside of Moss, we still have issues, Randel El is ok but for some reason is still #2, Thrash is ok, Thomas sucks right now, Kelly is injured. Keeping McMullen would have made this a B-

TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder. A- Cooley is great, Davis is good, only concern, no Blocker

OL: Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Heyer, Jansen, Fabini, Rinehart, Geisinger. B- No longer an A-, team is declining a bit, starting Heyer at this point shows the decline.

DL: Carter, Griffin, Golston, Taylor, Montgomery, Evans, James, Jackson, Alexander, Wilson. C I still think our DTs are suspect, we have less ability to stop the run on the ends, our pass rushing should be improved but I see a decline in run D.

LB: Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher. C+ Starters are fine, Washington is declining, Fletcher is a stud but getting older, McIntosh is still a talented rookie who makes mistakes to me. Depth is bad and in need of shoring up

CB: Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon. B- Springs is solid but getting older, Smoot is ok at best at #2, Rodgers is not bad folks..a viable #2.
I do like Torrence as #4, a perfect spot for him, Tryon sucks right now.

S: Landry, Doughty, Horton, Hamilton, Moore. C- If Landry goes down we are dead meat. Rookies would be slaughtered if they had to play.

ST: Suisham, Brooks, Albright. B- Swishy is ok, Albright is great, Brooks-who knows? who is going to be our placeholder?

Matty:

If the WRs who actually play are Moss, Randle-El and Thrash, that would mean there are no real changes there from last year. And WR was hardly one of the strengths of the team last year. I suspect that's why the Skins took two WRs early in the draft - - except neither has shown anything yet. YOu really gave this crew a "gentleman's C".

The key to the linebacking corps is the health of Messr. Washington not Messr. McIntosh.

I'm banking on Moss having a bounceback season, if he can recapture some of that magic from 2005 and ARE puts up similiar numbers to last year we could be alright. At some point we're going to need something from Thomas and Kelly though.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

Quarterback: A- Campbell is right on his development curve, and the depth is good -- you've got the declining veteran, but also the promising rook if something happens to the starter. Let's face it, had Collins not directed us to the playoffs last year, those 4 games would have been lost...because the Redskins didn't have anyone to develop.

Runningbacks: A- Portis is still going strong for us, but he really needs to break some big runs this year, otherwise, he's really not a valuable runner. He does all the little things, and the Betts/Cartwright/Sellers combo gives veteran depth at a key depth position.

Wide Receivers: C+ Santana should be a No. 1 type once again this year, but Randle El will be hard pressed to duplicate last season, and unless Malcolm Kelly can get healthy, a 35 year old James Thrash might see a LOT of offensive action this year. So with the top end target, but questionable depth, this unit could be a dead weight on the offense, but it could also go quietly unnoticed.

Tight Ends: A+

Offensive Line: C- I'm not ready to push the panic button just yet, but my finger is on it. The Guard situation looks fine with Kendall and Thomas holding it up and both veteran and young depth in Fabini and Rinehart give us something to look forward to. Rabach needs to rebound from last year, and not get punked like he did vs. Carolina. Heyer and Samuels are pretty much the two most important people on the team right now. If they can play well this year, not only will we be competitive, but our OL situation is fixable heading into the future -- with building blocks like Heyer and Rinehart. If Heyer turns out not to be a building block at all, then this line looks really, really decrepit moving towards the future.

Defensive Line: B For the here and now, this unit is every bit as good as it needs to be to make the defense dominant. The only problem is that 2 of the 3 key players on it are on the wrong side of 30. Golston and Montgomery could both develop into keystone players too, but Golston has yet to show that he can play well at this level. This is the first time that Golston will be used in a scenario that isn't worst-case.

Linebackers: C This was our bane in the preseason. Fletcher may be losing a step, especially in pass coverage. Washington is becoming a bit injury prone, and the team really needs a big season out of him. Rocky just has to be better than last year to make it all work. HB Blades might see significant time.

Defensive Backs: A- This group is both deep and talented. Even without ST back there, I still have total confidence in this unit.

Specialists: B- Suisham might struggle in FG % compared to last year, but I'm impressed by the job he did on kickoffs in the preseason. Brooks could conceivably be worse than Frost, but I'm confident he will be better. The "Red Snapper" might be the best nickname in football.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

QB: C+ (after 3 years its JC's time to shine)
RB: A (portis carries this team when he wants to)
OL: B
TE: A
WR: D (moss had a great season years ago, imo he has given up on this team)

DL: C (could easily go higher if JT plays at JT level all year; not as high on carter as most as i think he does the outside speed move way to much. he may get 10 sacks a year out of it but thats about it for his production unless they run a wide sweep his way)
LB: B-
CB: C
S: B

Sp Teams: C (i doubt on shazaam but hes looked good on kickoffs, hes earned a pass from me. we brought comp in for punter this year, next year i see comp for kicker. Did rock run 1 back last year?)

go skins!!!

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan.
C. Campbell is ok and decent depth. I think they can get it done if everything goes really well around them, but none of these guys are going to carry the team

Backs: Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Sellers.
A. Have to agree. These guys are pretty good.

WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Thomas, Kelly.
C. ARE is a #3 and beyond 2005 moss is a #2, and has been his entire career. We need help here... Hopefully one of the younger guys but it takes a while at WR to adjust.

TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder.
A. Cooley is one of the best and Davis has that kind of potential.

OL: Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Heyer, Jansen, Fabini, Rinehart, Geisinger.
B- they underacheive. Look at our ypc and # of hurries/sacks over the last couple of years. These guys could be elite. They should be

DL: Carter, Griffin, Golston, Taylor, Montgomery, Evans, James, Jackson, Alexander, Wilson.
B+. We'll see what they do, but they should actually be closer to an A.

LB: Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher.
A. Washington and fletcher give you 2 outstanding LBs and these young guys can ball. We could use depth, but what we've got is great.

CB: Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon.
B- sometimes Springs is one of the best in the game. Only reason they don't get an A is health concerns are constant with their physical play.

S: Landry, Doughty, Horton, Hamilton, Moore.
B+ Landry is good. Between the other youngsters there will be a combination that makes this unit one of the best in the league.

ST: Suisham, Brooks, Albright.
B. Not sure about the young P or suisham, but Danny smith has been awesome for us since day 1. The most consistent unit for the skins with the exception of the kicker carousel.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan. B, I am a bigger believer in JC than most and have full confidence that Collins can come in and be effective for 3-4 games. Forget what we saw against backup, Brennan is a couple years from being ready for prime time.

Backs: Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Sellers. A, Best overall group in the division IMO.

WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Thomas, Kelly. C+. I think this is the year that ARE steps up and has a breakout season. Moss is still too fragile for me and Thrash is pedestrian and wouldn't be a 3rd WR on most teams but the rookies aren't ready. If they develop, this can be a B+ by season's end.

TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder. A-, making the assumption that Davis is as good as advertised and as he showed in preseason.

OL: Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Heyer, Jansen, Fabini, Rinehart, Geisinger. B+. I don't get why so many people are down on our OL.

DL: Carter, Griffin, Golston, Taylor, Montgomery, Evans, James, Jackson, Alexander, Wilson. B. I see 3 players who could start for most NFL teams and 4 depth guys any NFL team would want.

LB: Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher. C, a silent weakness on this team, easily the weakest part of the team. Old and brittle (Fletcher, Washington, McIntosh) or inexperienced/underqualified (Blades, Campbell, Fincher).

CB: Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon. C+. I'm happy with this lineup, but everyone is kinda fragile.

S: Landry, Doughty, Horton, Hamilton, Moore. B+. Landry brings this grade WAY up.. Doughty is the week link but I really like the youngsters. Springs playing some at FS bumps this up too.

ST: Suisham, Brooks, Albright. B-. I have high hopes for Brooks, Shazam misses more easy ones than I'd like and Albright is straight cash homie.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

QB: B I know I am bucking the C trend here, but I am hopeful that JC is going to make good in this offense. And Collins/Brennan I think better than average backups if JC goes down
RB: A No doubts here, they can certainly carry the load
OL: B+ I think they played well at the end of last year, and can really do good things this year
TE: A Great Group
WR: C- Definitely why we spent two picks to strengthen it going forward, but if both Moss and ARE play to their strengths (quick routes) then maybe it can go up.

DL: B with a chance to be elite if they don't give up outside runs
LB: B- Getting a little older, and really worry about injuries here
CB: B- Top 3 are solid if not elite depth and the schemes that are played will be a big factor here. I think there are as many chances for INT's with this group as there are big plays
S: B+ We are extremely lucky that LL was chosen, and has kind of taken on the mantel here.

Sp Teams: B+, Brooks is going to ASTOUND in games, and Suisham's leg looked good in pre-season, hopefully it carries through.

Matty Can we add one line?

Coaching: C+ This has to be considered a huge factor in our success (maybe even more than JC's development) I think the defensive side will benefit, but Zorn is definitely a work in progress. I hope by the end of the season (SB :woot: ) this area will be a solid A

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

My confidence level for the offense is fairly low right now. I feel as though the team has digressed in preseason. I'm concerned that the team has not grasped this offense and will struggle early. With the tough schedule, the Skins may be buried by the time they figure this offense out. The running game should do well. I'm worried about the lack of depth for the wide receivers. If they can't throw effectively, the running game will come to a halt. My confidence can be easily raised with a good offensive performance versus the Giants.

I think the defense will have to set the tone for the entire team. To be successful, they will have to create easy scoring opportunities. It all starts up front. The front seven will have to stop the run and put pressure on the opposing quarterback. I think they can get the job done.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

I think the thing for JC is he needs to get in the rhythym for more than a Quarter..then he wont be so anxious and settle in. I think he has so much pressure on him he tries to do everything perfect without letting it go. I think if he scored on the our first series his confidence will soar from there on. If he puts in a solid game and we win..It will be a building block for his confidence and allow him to break out of his shell and produce big time.

Qbs= C+ like everyone is saying its make or break time for jason...and although i am probably one of the few on here that doesnt have confidence in collins i like colt as a 3rd tringer
Rbs= A- myonly concern is that are any of these guys home run hitters anymore?
wrs= C- Not really whati was hoping for out of the rookies this preseason and i am just waiting for moss or randle el to turn up lame
OL= B+ very solid, good mix of veterans and youth.
DL= B+ jason Taylor and andre...nuff said
LB= B Fletch and marcus are probaby two of my absolute favorite players on this team...i love seein "the strut" But i still am waiting for rocky to dominate or be energized...poor us spoiled by lavar.
Cbs- B+allthough we have concerns when we get to the bottom f our roster..our top 3 cbs are elite.
S- C+ the whole grade here, im really nervous about that SS spot right now tho...
ST= ummmm brooks rocks, the red snapper is back and im confident in suisham. sooo B

MY biggest concerns are wr health, special teams coverage and blocking, and the play of the safteys..

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

Awesome fucking thread. (Do me a solid on dropping the f bomb this one time mods, I just watched two straight hours of Entourage).

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan. D+. JC looks closer to a rook right now than a 3 year vet. I don't know what the headline should be, but I know I'm worried. The way JC goes so goes the offense and Thurs is reality day...

Backs: Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Sellers. A+. Couldn't honestly ask for more talent in the backfield. If Zorn will mix up the run game beyond what we saw under Gibbs the rushing attack could carry the offense until the air attack comes around. Of course a lot depends on the o-line here.

WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Thomas, Kelly. D. Yeah I'm serious. This is the same posse from last year for all practical purposes. If JC was looking more accurate, particularly in those quick shot medium and short passes, I could raise this to a solid C. For know, our WR corp doesn't look to pop the TD cherry till late in the season (again).

TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder. A-. These guys are the passing option for the next several games. I'm talking big targets w/ arguably better hands than our WRs. Again, we'll see just how creative coach Z will get, but if he will move Davis and Cooley around enough to give the opposing d different looks we should see some early fireworks in the air attack.

OL: Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Heyer, Jansen, Fabini, Rinehart, Geisinger. C. This group has to prove itself all over.

DL: Carter, Griffin, Golston, Taylor, Montgomery, Evans, James, Jackson, Alexander, Wilson. B- to A. A lot obviously depends on whether JT came to DC to play football, but I could argue just as much depends whether our DT rotation can make a difference in a regular season game. So far I'm disappointed Montgomery doesn't look set to have a break-out year... hey maybe Grilliams was wrong about the kid.

LB: Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher. B+. I feel better about this unit than before preseason. Marcus looks set to fly and we have legit depth now. Personally, I'm excited about Fincher because the guy reminds me a little of Marcus' from his energy and motor.

CB: Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon. B, this group consistently overachieves IMO and this year we actually have legit depth in Torrence, who looks to be developing nicely.

S: Landry, Doughty, Horton, Hamilton, Moore. C-. Landry's health still a question and Doughty can't seem to read the play.

ST: Suisham, Brooks, Albright. B, whatever.

Zorn: I believe we can have an 11-5 or a 5-11 season largely based on what Zorn can accomplish. Sure the air attack looks sketchy right now, but w/ so much talent in the backfield and among the TEs a creative playbook could easily compensate and even prove effective for a good early run. On the other hand, if we get stubborn and try to force JC to connect w/ the WR corp right away in the WC scheme things will probably get ugly before they get pretty.

QB: Campbell, Collins, Brennan. B- JC isn't a horrible QB. He may not play like Brady, but I feel he can get the job done. He put up better numbers then E. Manning. Collins is a great backup. Brennan will be a good QB someday.

Backs: Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Sellers. A.

WR: Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Thomas, Kelly. D This is the part that worries me the most.

TE: Cooley, Davis, Yoder. A. Cooley is a monster. I think Davis will be too.

OL: Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Heyer, Jansen, Fabini, Rinehart, Geisinger.
I would have given them a B+, but because of the Carolina game they get a B-.
DL: Carter, Griffin, Golston, Taylor, Montgomery, Evans, James, Jackson, Alexander, Wilson. A-.

LB: Washington, Fletcher, McIntosh, Blades, Campbell, Fincher. B+.
CB: Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon. B-. because Rogers is coming off an injury.

S: Landry, Doughty, Horton, Hamilton, Moore. B-. Landry is the only one in the group that I feel comfortable with. I think Moore will eventually become a good safety.
ST: Suisham, Brooks, Albright. B+.

Re: Redskins Roster Confidence Levels

QB's = C: Campbell is not consistent, Collis hasn't ran the WCO since EQ was in diapers, and Colt is a Rookie

RB'S = B: Portis is the main threat and he may get 1,000 yards and some TD's, but who in the hell is scared of 3 point something yards per carry? Ladell Betts had that real good season in relief, but he really doesn't keep any Defense awake at night (solid backup, nothing more). Rock Cartwright is a good guy, and a good special teamer, but he is not that involved in the offense.

WR's = D: Show me the money! I am not doubting the talent, but I need some production. Note: If the QB grade was better then this one would be too.

TE's = A: Cooley is a Pro Bowler, Yoder is a solid vet backup, and Davis is the only positive early round offensive draft pick thus far.

OL = B+ run blocking, C+ pass blocking, Overall B (Grade went up when Jansen was benched)

DL = B+: As long as Jason Taylor pans out. This inside DT's Montgomery and Golston are still suspect at times. We know that we are going to get solid play from Griffin and Carter. If EJ can come around and the young DT's improve, then the age of the starters in this group wouldn't scare me as much.

LB's = C+: Mcintosh is comming off of injury, Fletcher is a beast but getting old, Washington has been hampered with injuries the past couple of years. When they are all healthy this is easily an A unit, but realistically we are going to see some Fincher, Campbell, and possibly Blades this year. At least the backups have some promise.

DB's = C+: Springs is the best CB that we have and has easily lost a step, Rogers can defend passes with the best of them but cant hold onto them (and that was when he was healthy). Smoot is Harvey 2 face, He will make a couple of good plays and then fold on potential great plays. Laron Landry can be a beast if he can pick up where he left off last season. Reed Doughty is solid against the run and suspect against the pass, but he did have a pick last week.

ST's = C-: Suisham is average at best. Brooks is a rookie who has to learn how to hold. At least the Red Snapper will not give them any bad snapps.
