Skins/Lions game ball

Who gets yours?

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

The 'D'

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

Big Mike gets mine.

He was just all over the place, blocking, running, catching, etc.

He's such an underrated weapon on our offense.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

I'd say Jason Campbell. This looked like his break out game today.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

The Defense 81 net passing yards, a safety, and a TD. The D was amazing this game. Reminded me of the 2004 squad.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

When a QB completes 79% of his passes for 8.55 y/a, I don't see how he can not get the gameball. I was frusterated with some of his execution early in the first half just in handling the football but that does not take away from the fact that 28 NFL QBs took the field this week and no one had the kind of day Jason Campbell did.

The D is certainly deserving, but Campbell gets my gameball.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

I give it to JC. He was just outstanding today w/out Moss and ARE for the 2nd half. I also give props to Sanders cause he called a great game.

But damn the defense was just ridicules.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

While I loved the day Jason Campbell had, I had to go with Mike Sellers. Flat out, the running over of Kennedy does it for me. That was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

I loved the seam pass to Sellers. That was a thing of beauty!

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

Very hard call...I'd say the D, but I like to give a game "ball" to a person, not a unit. So I'll give it to Campbell, but I certainly think our D was why we did so well. Had you said Greg Williams, I'd give it to him. His game plan was great.

4mrusmc 10-07-2007 07:44 PM

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

I said "D", but there wasn't a choice for team. This was a total team effort if there was one. A player would go down, and another guy would step in and take his place without any drop-off.

EARTHQUAKE2689 10-07-2007 07:45 PM

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

it was actually 76 net yards passing, plus 5 sacks by 4 different people, 2 Ints and what should have been a fumble recovery by Mcintosh.

JWsleep 10-07-2007 07:53 PM

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

Absolutely shut down the #1 pass attack in the NFC. Silenced it. Made the crucial momentum play with the safety (great game for Carter!). And then iced the game with two INTs, including the dagger redemption TD for Carlos. All done with a 4 man rush by a much maligned pass rushing D line.

No question. The D.

rypper11 10-07-2007 07:54 PM

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

Game ball shouldn't be to the entire D unit, but def someone on the unit. Shouldn't options include Andre Carter or Rogers? Or at least G Williams? Not only did Rogers have a great mop up pick for 6, his tackling and limiting YAC was huge.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

Coaches but I'll settle for The D.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

I think that was one of the best overall performances we've seen from the D in the Gregg Williams era.

The #1 passing team in the league held to 76 net yards passing? That's disgusting.

12thMan 10-07-2007 08:01 PM

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

I had to go with JC. Big Mike close second, real close. But JC...stats aside, on both touchdown throws and the two point conv., JC showed he's becoming a playmaker. And how about the 4 and 2....cool as a cucumber.

In a week where JC had his best game, the rest of the Young Guns seemed to be very average.

Certainly the best performance ever from the front four.

True, true..I think we start to see more man to man coverage from our corners. What a complete game.

Although some weeks his refusal to adjust his gameplan kills us, he really took away Kitna's bread and butter. The Lions are super unbalanced on offense, and we just didn't allow receivers to run free in space. Consequently Kitna made bad decisions all day, and the pressure wasnt bad either.

Held that offense to just three points. Way to go D.

Big step for Jason, it's his! If there were two (WHICH THERE ARE, IN MY BOOK)) the D would get the second they played GREAT!

Campbell has to get it. Sellers is the man but Jason got us that win.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

I said the "D." If I could give two, the second goes to JC. Even though it was a crappy Lions D, he didnt have his top 2 WR for half the game, and still played great. Sellers is a close third as well. What a Manimal!!

Hmmm, I think it's a toss-up between that performance and the Dallas-Redskins game in Week 15 of the 2005 season. Daniels was molesting Dallas' backup LT.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

Sellers. He's such a badass and it shows. Also Carlos should get one for the way he jumped that route and shimmied into the end zone. That was f*&king beautiful.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

Jason Campbell did great, but Mike Sellers came out of no where and had a great 2 td game, have to give him the game ball.

Detroit had the #1 passing attack in the NFC? I wonder if the Skins will be able to do the same against the Cowchips?

My game ball goes to Campbell -- I think he effectively silenced the critics of his short-to-intermediate passing game.

JC deserves a game ball , but I just love seeing Sellers dominate like he does . Im sure many game balls went out , I give one to M. Sellers . How bout giving Seller a nickname , "the beast" or "wrecking crew" ?

Detroit had the #1 passing attack in the entire NFL.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball
Detroit had the #1 passing attack in the entire NFL.
But only the 8th most efficient. They just get a lot of yards because they have a lot of attempts.

I think they ranked 30th or 31st in rushing offense because they never really ran the ball.

Anyway, Green Bay has a stronger passing attack than Detroit does, so the D will get another challenge next week. The Packers have a receiving core every bit as good as people think the Lions are.

And they didn't invest 4 first round picks into it.

Re: Skins/Lions game ball

Cut that ball into thirds. D, JC and big Mike each get a piece. But our D was dominant against a very good offense. If I had to pick, it has to be the D. They were fast, smart and hard hitting, and that's how the Skins should be week in and week out.
