JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

Then blames Denny.
What a jerk and crappy team mate the #20 is.

Re: JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

Looked like they were both to blame for the crash. Stewart shouldn't have been going for a bump draft around the corner. but it also seemed like Hamlin had slowed down. He should have kept his speed.

Either way, Stewart should have kept his mouth shut afterward and just cooled off.

Stewart's having a very frustrating season. But I know he wants see Hamlin succeed. Still, he got a little too aggressive tonight both on and off the track

Agree #20 was to blame.

Denny got the #2 spot from points and was just driving as fast as he could. The #20 car wrecked Denny and said it was cus Denny was trying to wreck him. What a joke.

Like I said, both were at fault. Tony knows Denny wasn't trying to wreck him. He shouldn't have said anything before he had a chance to cool off. He's a temperamental dude

Where is Denny at fault?

He had a Top 10 car then got put a 2nd. Stewart runs hin over and it's Denny's fault? Yer wrong. That was all stewart being a jerk.

Denny shows he's the better man...
"I do [know the meaning of teammates]," Hamlin said. "I figured I did -- but I'm going to be the bigger man and I'll take the blame on this.

"If he wants to blame it on me I'll be the bigger man -- I'll take responsibility for it. He's been around this sport longer than I have and he probably knows more than I do, so I'll just take it for what it's worth."
Well, you never did explain how this was the #11's fault. If the guy has his foot all the way down on the throttle but his car is a tad slower how does it make it his fault when another car drives up his tail?

That was 100% the #20 car's fault and his comments after the race were rediculous and petty but expected from the whinner known as Jaun Pablo Steward the team wrecker.

SmootSmack 07-08-2007 11:42 AM

Re: JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

Well, Stewart's comments were wrong. I agree with that. Stewart gets emotional and doesn't filter his words when the camera rolls. Unlike other drivers, who will say the kind of things Stewart off-camera.

Looked like Stewart was trying to get close for a possible bump draft on the straightaway, which would have helped both him and Hamlin. Stewart, has been extremely vocal about the dangers of bumping on the corners so I'd be surprised if the was trying to do bump then.

Now, it appeared that Hamlin slowed down just a bit and Stewart had gotten too close too soon to get around him.

Re: JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

Stewart's a really good teammate, just said some stupid stuff yesterday. A lot of guys in NASCAR talk shit about their teammates and crews. Difference is Tony Stewart doesn't care if the camera is rolling when he says it.

At the end of the day, they all work together and Stewart has done a really good job of taking Hamlin under his wing and helping him become one of the top drivers.

jsarno 07-08-2007 03:41 PM

Re: JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

Stewart is a horrible driver. He causes way too many wrecks. He didn't even bother trying to slow down to not hit Hamlin. When is NASCAR gonna get fed up with his wreckless driving? He should be fined and docked points for that!

SmootSmack 07-08-2007 03:45 PM

Re: JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

What does Stewart have to gain from getting into a wreck, especially with his own teammate Hamlin?

Stewart is a great driver. Yes he can be aggressive but that doesn't make him bad.

But whatever, people already have preconceived notions of him and that's not going to change

jsarno 07-08-2007 03:51 PM

Re: JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

Tony is also classless blaming Hamlin and saying he tried to wreck him in practice so now he finished the job. Also saying that for some reason the 11 car decided to stop.
Well, Mr. Stewart, I watched it from every angle, and I'm watching it now on the DVR and YOU RAMMED HIM YOU PIECE OF SHIT DRIVER! You had plenty of time to go around him or slow down, you did neither.

Who said he would gain anything...he wrecked his own teammate for pete's sake, does that not scream HORRIBLE DRIVER?
I would be very interested to see stats on who wrecks more people, I would wager that he and montoya are 1 and 2. Being aggressive and being wreckless are two different things.

100% agree.
I had no ill feelings for Stewart until I noticed he wrecked everyone. Maybe it has something to do with people coming from indy car. If I was asked who I think the worst two drivers are in NASCAR, they would be Stewart and Montoya. At least Montoya is trying to get better.

Stewart wrecked Denny flat out. Good to see someone else saw the same race I saw.
StewRAT is a punk in my opinion and sliding down the scale of good drivers. If he was not on a good team he would suck and swallow.

He plowed into Denny's rearend and everyone saw it. His post race comments were typical punk blame game. What a jerk.

And to say he "helped Denny" do anything is rediculus. He's NEVER helped Denny in a race. Show me JUST 1 time?

Denny is a bigger [lol well, not FAT like doughboy stewrat] and better man with his after race comments and is showing he's a better driver too.

Go Denny and the #11!!!!!

Honestly, Jeff Gordon got me into it cause he was not from the typical area of NASCAR drivers, and neither am I. He was an outcast, and me coming from Boston, I am an outcast to the NASCAR community.
I love cars, and I love to race even go-karts...so for me it's a natural progression! Viva 24!

He finished 4th and is 2nd and if he can keep the TARD tony "juan pabLOW" stewRAT from wrecking him he has a chance to win the Championship this year.

Re: JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

Well, I started casually getting into it when Joe Gibbs got into it. Although, I thought Tony Stewart was a bit of a jack-ass (he was much worse then he is now) I still rooted for Joe Gibbs Racing.

But then, lo and behold I started getting paid to follow NASCAR. So the more time I spent studying it, watching the races (learning that sometimes a bump is a good thing-such as when Stewart gave Hamlin a bump at the 2006 Bud Shoot-Out to push him forward, that sometimes it's the car that's hit that's at fault), talking to drivers and crew chiefs off camera, hanging out in the garages.

That's how I got to really know the sport and the drivers and know how teammates work together and certain teams help other and serve as mentors even though others don't see it.

Stewart is NO mentor to Hamlin. Never has and is not to this day. They are team mates but Stewart has his head up his ass too far to see anyone else but excuses.

That's a joke bro.
Denny needed "friends" like Jr. amd Edwards in times when Stewart was ignoring Denny. I've had my eye on this driver the whole time. StewRAT is NO mentor to Denny Hamlin. You have no source or facts to back that up so just quit it.

StewRAT is a 1 man Team who cares about no one other then the #20 car...period. Unless you have sources or facts and footage or video to prove yer point I could make up something too.

StewRAT was a jerk in the past, he was jerk during and after the race the other day and will be a jerk tomorrow and next week during the race too.

He's a PUD

See, this is why I didn't want to get into it. My source is that I work on NASCAR every day. I've spent time with a lot of the drivers, crew chiefs, team owners, etc.

I'm more in tune with what goes on than the average fan. Just like Earthquake, working with AT&T/Cingular, is going to know more about them than me or anyone else who doesn't. Or Jsarno know the real deal with Chili's, and so on.

Yes, Tony was wrong for saying what he said on Saturday but also yes Stewart and Hamlin get along and Stewart does help Hamlin. True, they have their disagreements but who doesn't.

Believe me or don't. I couldn't care less quite frankly. I know what I know and what I know goes beyond what you see on tv or read online.

I just asked you to quote a source to back up you statements. To say well..."I know stuff you don't so you better listent to me" [which you did not actually say] means nothing.

Hey, I know stuff you don't so my statements are more true than if that is all the source we need to quote to make a statement.

I never said they didn't "get along". I disputed your unsumstantiated claims Stewart is a mentor of Hamlin which clearly is not a fact but a statement you make only bro.

Sorry even I got 1 leg to stand on with my statements about Denny and Tony Montoya

So, you work with NASCAR everyday. What does that have to do with the actions that happened on the track?

Do you really believe for one second TS was trying to help his teammate?

Then talking shit and putting the blame on his teammate after the race, when Ray Charles could clearly see TS was at fault.

Nice to see somebody could take the HIGH ROAD! Sure wouldn't be shit head.

Yep!
Hamlin countered by saying Stewart caused the collision. But he later took the high road and accepted responsibility for the crash -- an unusual move considering how rare it is for the race leader to start an accident.

``It's tough to put blame on anyone,'' Hamlin said. ``I know I definitely got hit coming off the corner. But the circumstances that led up to that, I'm not sure. ... If he wants to blame it on me, I'll be the bigger man and take responsibility for it. He's been around this sport longer than I have and he probably knows more than I do.''
Smootsmack, so you work for ESPN? Just curious. ( No, Im not being sarcastic, you are in Conn., and ur claims would make this a reasonable question)

SmootSmack 07-08-2007 08:58 PM

Re: JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

What about when Hamlin called out his crew earlier this year because he was frustrated he hadn't won? Turned out he was probably right but no one gave him shit for that. If Stewart did it, everyone would be pissing all over him.

Now, one more time. I'll put in bullet point format so it's easier to follow

-Tony Stewart was wrong for what he said on Sunday

-Tony Stewart knows that a bump can be good, very good. But a bump on a corner inevitably leads to a wreck.

-Tony Stewart is most probably at fault for the crash on Sunday. I'll cede that. I still think Hamlin may have slowed up a bit but whatever.

-I don't have any "links" to quote for you. All I'm saying is I interact with a lot of these guys on a regular basis. I see how they operate. I know that to decide what their relationship is based on yesterday is inaccurate

-To summarize: Stewart-shut up because people already hate you; Stewart and Hamlin-keep doing what you do when the cameras aren't rolling

-This is why I don't like to mix work with TheWarpath
