Did you see that Sean Taylor Hit?
I don't know if any of you watch the pro bowl, I rarely do myself, but I just happened to have it on when Sean Taylor layed out the Bills punter Brian Mormon. Incredible hit!
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
I knew he'd be playing with a chip on his shoulder (Pro Bowl or not)...that was brutal.
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
i only saw a little bit of the pro bowl, but i saw that sean taylor gave reggie wayne alligator arms...
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?

|

Sorry about that. If he'd been a bit more like that this past season I would've gotten his name right! |

haha thats true. haha |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
Is it safe to say that Tony Homo is loosing the game for us...wait what do I mean us...Yeah AFC, I'm just rooting for Sean.
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
great hit loved it to bad he didnt do it that much this year.
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
he played like he belonged there, thats for sure!
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
That was by far the best hit I have ever seen Taylor put on somebody, albeit a punter, but still what a ferocious hit.
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
STs performance didn't surprise me one bit...I hope this shuts up all those that were saying he didn't deserve to be there. He was clearly one of the better athletes on the field...I guess he stood out because he was able to be Sean Taylor again and play of his great instincts, not having to worry about "The Scheme".
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
How can you say that? Chad Johnson blew by him for a long TD. Ronde Barber gave up his coverage, thinking Sean was playing deep, and he wasn't, a problem of his all season long. The announcers even said Carson Palmer was put back in to take advantage of Sean deep. I'm a bit concerned about his deep coverage skills.
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
haha Marshall Faulk asked Sean about his hit, and Sean said that he doesn't want to talk about because it was on a punter, and he also said it doesn't count. That's good atleast Sean is being modest about it.

I hear you. People get all excited when Sean lays someone out, suddenly forgetting that he doesn't do his job much of the time. Plenty of room for him to get better, and he may yet be a star, but I have no problem with anyone saying Sean Taylor is a mediocre safety. |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
You guys are nuts if you think Taylor is mediocre. If he is, woe unto the rest of the sorry safties that weren't even thought for NFC squad.

First of all, the hit was FREAKING awsome. But I hear what you're saying. Its not so much his coverage skills as it is his poor decision making. I honestly think Sean can (and i've seen) run 1 on 1 with any reciver in the league, its just that he needs to stay the hell home and not bite so hard on the play action. |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
Heres another question, now I wasent like glued to my TV and I was in and out the entire time....but I didnt think I saw Chris Samuels take a single snap. Did I just miss it (which is very possible)?
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
its great that he can lay out a kicker maybe he will work his way up to knocking out rb and wr next. Lets calm down it was a great hit but it was against a god da-n kicker for crying out loud. He should be able to do that against a kicker.

It's possible he had a light load because he's scheduled to have surgery on his knee very soon. |

umm............ it was a punter. punters are much harder to tackle i might add. jk |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
yes i could tell tell by his 4.3 speed he had. last time i saw a punter kicked the ball. i could be wrong though.
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
but a kicker is still called a kicker, and a punter a punter. and a punter does kick the ball, yes, but would it of be so hard to type punter? by typing 'kicker' instead of 'punter' has put some confusion in my head.
jk i love you |

whose the asshole who spelled his name wrong?
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
I havent watched it,but i dont think i need to,laying out the punter doesnt sound good, thats usually a cheap shot, and thats what his reputation is all about

Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
well now i just watched it and i feel stupid, that was a great hit,i thought it was after he punted and taylor laid him out,my bad
|
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
I just read the recap on espn, they actually said it was the games best play
Baltimore's Adalius Thomas returned Marc Bulger's fumble 70 yards for a confusing score in the first half, but there was no confusion about the game's best play: Sean Taylor, the maverick Washington safety, broke the unwritten rule about hard hits in an exhibition when he viciously leveled Buffalo punter Brian Moorman on an attempted fake in the third quarter. |

i missed these plays but hes seriously bites on the playfake often. |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
no matter how you feel about Taylor's season, that was one helluva of a hit

I hope he's not like B Lloyd yelling at coaches, thinking he's got it all figured out. As many great plays Sean made this year, there were enough boneheaded plays that ticked me off. That was a nice hit! |

uh...did you see him get burned a few times in pass coverage? Chad Johnson got one for about 60+ yards on him. |

well running a fake punt was unnecessary , run a play like that expect to get hit maybe next time he, the punter, will respect the D a lil more. |

You can say that his hit was unessescary, but what would one expect, I mean deep down everyone on the field are competitors. And I am sure that at some point in the game they let that competitive nature take over and they may forget that it is all in good fun... |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
I can't believe we're nitpicking on this hit... well actually I can believe it.
Just enjoy it for what it was. |
Re: Did you see that Shawn Taylor hit?
it was not a dirty hit. but would love to see him do that to a wr or rb instead of always getting burn in coverage
|

The only reason he made the Pro-bowl is because he does that Wideouts and RB's all the time. I like how ESPN's writers are insinuating that he broke an unwritten rule yet you see the replay every 5 minutes on their network. There is definitely an anti-Washington bias at that network. As far as the "unwritten rule", if he lets up the punter probably gets a first down. I would compare that to National Geographic. Nobody criticizes the lion when they pounce on the helpless gazelle. |
