Sportswriters' "Thread of Shame"

This thread is dedicated to the writers who just don't "get it". Not necessarily because they are Skins bashers, but because they do it either without knowing the facts, without even a hint of impartiality, or, simply, without class. If you come across someone to add to the list, post here and I'll update the top post. If someone redeems themselves, I'll take them off the list.

Mike Freeman
Peter King (unless he truly reconsiders Monk for the Hall)
Sally Jenkins
Len Pasquarelli
Pete Prisco
George Solomon
Dr. Z
Anyone else?

Any specific articles? The search function isn't working for me right now, so I can't pull up old posts.

EDIT: Also, it could be that this is a short list. Maybe it just feels like everyone is out to get us.

Just take any Prisco article.

I think GTripp should be mentioned in this list. He picked against the Redskins!

lol - I'll have to start a separate thread for "Posters 'Thread of Shame'". I'll probably have to add myself to the list, too.

Re: Sportswriters' "Thread of Shame"

I'm just messing around with GTripp. I know that there's a difference between being a fan and making reasonable, thought-out predictions; the same applies for sports writers.
I jsut hate the people who can't back up any of their arguements.

SI.com - Writers - Dr. Z's Power Rankings: 21-32 - Wednesday September 13, 2006 11:47AM
Don't forget about that douchebag, Dr Z (from SI, not Dodge). He's totally underrating the Skins without any reason of why he's ranking them so low. Plus, he's even working on an excuse for their eventual success. Basically, he's a dick.

Sally Jenkins wins this in a landslide. We can stop right here.

Keith Olberman talks more than he writes, but he belongs in some kind of Hall of Shame.

That freaky-eyed rapper on ESPN too, Stuart Scott. I could look past his bad eye if he didn't try so hard to be like a white guy that wants to be black. He's like Carlton Banks from Fresh Prince.

Added Dr. Z - I had forgotten about this tool.

Luckily, it's not a zero sum game - we can have lots of winners!

George Solomon. I'd link the thread but the search no worky. Basically he called out fans for being "bush league" last year when we cauased the Bears multiple false starts with our raucous cheering.

Speaking of Sally isn't she due for another scathing Skins article?? I mean they did lose this week.

She's slipping.

I assume she's still up in New York - maybe she hasn't heard yet.

why does everyone get in an uproar over some of these writers? the plain facts are if the skins play well, these writers will be on the skins bandwagon. i say forget about them

You mean these writers who still dumped on the Skins during their 6 game win streak into the playoffs last year?

Plus, what else are we going to do? Dallas isn't till Sunday.

Re: Sportswriters' "Thread of Shame"

After we started 3-0 last year Don Banks said we were the worst 3-0 team in the entire history of the nfl. That was some serious garbage and he never took much heat for such a bold and incorrect statement.

Dr. Z won't jump on the bandwagon because he would just say that Snyder bought a championship will all his free agent moves. Once again, Dr. Z sucks.

The power of Google.

You can limit the search to a particular site, and there aren't a whole lot of Solomon posts here.

jay marriotti

on around the horn he said th skins suck, so throw him in there

Re: Sportswriters' "Thread of Shame"

The fact is, we have not looked good. This isn't a list for just any old writer who points that out. This for the people who, if Snyder and Gibbs brought home 2 Super Bowls in a row, would point out that the Patriots won 3 in four years, and use that to prove that the Skins suck.

this is the hall of shame, not the porch of the somewhat possibly shameful.

he's going to have to do a bit more than that to earn his spot.

I have the utmost confidence in Sally. She'll rear her (no pun inteneded) ugly head in about 4 days from now.

king is predicted that bledsoe hits TO for 3 touchdowns on sunday. I predict king suffering a major heart attack, but maybe that's just because he looks so much like one of the super fans. If only he had a mustache...
