I think $20m was too much for him to be honest, but that they tried to sign one player for $25m makes this seem like they have no coherent plan. Either you are trying to rebuild the culture and working to 2021/22 or you are spending big to win in 2020,
Keim reported that the Redskins only offered Cooper $23m in guaranteed money. Dallas gave him $40m fully guaranteed, with a total injury guarantee of $60m. This business that the Redskins significantly outbid the Cowboys and he settled for less is nonsense - according to J Keim. Peterson
Guice Love McKissic Barber Depth and insurance not a bad room at all. Going to be interesting to see if Love is ready |

Peterson is still good but he's old Guice is injury prone and Love hasn't played. I can see why they are concerned |

3.1 ypc in 2019 . 600k is guaranteed. :saywhat:

Good to see a coach and front office who value the running game finally.

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
The #Jaguars and former #Bengals first-round TE Tyler Eifert are working diligently towards closing a deal, source said. If completed, it would be another free agent move in Jax to fill a spot that plagued them last year -- and one that coach Doug Marrone really wanted.

His rookie year, he played for Jay Gruden at Cincy. But this guy can NOT stay healthy. He only played 16 games once in seven years. 15 games his rookie year, and 13 games one other year. His other seasons, he played 1, 8, 2, 4 games ... Dude ain't worth it. But maybe Jay Gruden attracts injured dudes. |

He is half of a notch above a training camp free agent...... at best a 50-50 chance he makes the team |

I agree, dont know what to tell ya.The skins have made some good moves and others I question, were just gonna have to see how it plays out |

Eifert has always been a very talented TE dude just can’t stay healthy

Guice is injury prone and Love hasn't played. I can see why they are concerned
I hear you, but that's still the signing I like/understand the least so far. It's not like Peyton Barber is going to be our long term solution, is it ? So on short term would it be so crazy to think we'd always have at least one RB available out of Guice, Love and AP ? Don't love the move, but it's a cheap one so nothing to get crazy about. |

another training camp body, 1 reception in the last two years. I hope a minimal contract. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
If Guice can stay healthy IMO he's the guy. I don't care who they bring in. Hopefully he's past the injury bug. RR saw up close how good he can be cause he got fired after Guice ran all over his defense. I get wanting
to create competition and I like it. But Barber is the classic journeyman, JAG NFL RB. |

When he has been we have seen how good he can be. I just wish he could stay healthy. Then you also have Love coming back from an injury. Wouldn't surprise me if they draft another RB too. |

Isn't RR a fan of multiple TE sets? I suspect he's building up a group of predominantly blocking TEs and will look for a Kittle/Kelce type in the draft. I remember JG having Terry Orr and Don Warren complimenting Clint Didier and that worked well. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
"right now Breeland is not an option" - Keim
I guess they feel like Morneau finally gets a shot on the outside and probably add a guy in the draft. Our lack of movement in Free Agency has way to many holes to fill in the draft....hope we don't draft for need, but that's the way it looks. Left Tackle, Cornerback, WR, TE...All issues imo. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
My one concern is that the roster has so many holes and that they are tempted to take a lesser amount of picks for the #2 in trade than they otherwise should.
|
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
Barber may be JAG but he has a very enjoyable highlight reel on youtube that is all about his running over people. That was nice.

The other side of this is, maybe noone is stepping up to give us the number of picks we should take TO move out of the number 2 spot. It takes two to tango. If there isn't a willing partner, it's hard to blame RR for this. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
So Richard Rodgers dad is a DB coach here?
fucking weak imo. not a good look. handing out welfare contracts to a TE with a history of injuries cause the dad on team? Yet we pass on other talent at TE. |
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
can we just move on from the "if he can stay healthy" type guys?
|
Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
Players with any skills plus a proven injury history, or lack thereof, cost lots of money and prefer to play for contenders...... Redskins need to take chances on some redemption stories to fill out the roster

Re: Redskins Free Agent Signings 2020
There is a difference between "needing to take some chances on redemption stories" and pathetic personnel choices. To me we are way beyond taking some chances and rounding the corner on pathetic. It would be nice if rather than acquiring "depth" we could actually find some starters. Looks like Skins are going to be a Panthers retread team. really disappointed with what they have done during UFA period.

Get ready for my favorite during the draft “He woulda been a 2nd rounder if he didn’t get injured last year” |

Yeah, depth really wasn't the issue with all the injuries we've had the last 2 years. I agree, I prefer feeling optimistic about our chances in March vs. winning games in the fall. |
