Going to gold and white and using burgundy just for trim looks really cool !!! Love that picture of Chase ! If they sell that jersey, I may have to get that one. I have shied away from player jerseys since my purchase of an RG3 jersey.

Agreed. Collins hasn't proven it to me yet. I think he can be solid, but I thought his tackling was inconsistant last year. Call me crazy but I'd throw Cole Holcomb in there. I'm aware he's not the same type of playmaker Payne, Ioannidis, Young or McLaurin are. But I think a 24 years old fast, solid tackler, smart LB is a great asset. Maybe not exactly the "build around" type, but definitely a player I'd love to see become a long time Redskin ! |

A strong year from the o-line would definitely help his case. Landon Collins: For the money we're paying him, I need more than a good run defender. He's making playmaker money. He's making Polamalu, Reed, Taylor money. For that money I want turnovers, and someone who can play deep coverage. He still has yet to show that. |

Great read thanks. I like Chase a lot, while I don't have the detailed football knowledge to appreciate his play the way it deserves, I like the stability he gives us at OL. With TW gone, Moses on the decline, Scherff still not extended, Wes Martin still having to fully prove it and rookie Charles being a rookie... being set at center is nice. |

Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Interesting question posed on Hogs Haven ... what say you?
Apparently there are teams interested in Ryan Anderson. Should the Skins trade Anderson? He's in his last year of his rookie deal, and hits free agency next year. Would you trade him now for a 6th or 7th round pick? Or for a 5th round pick? Here are the details, and a poll ... Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
I think we have too many questions at LB to trade Ryan Anderson. He has been solid even though he's yet another player who wasn't used properly by the previous regime.
As for extending him, I recall RR saying that the Skins aren't planning to extend anyone until the coaches get a good look at the players on the field. |
Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Agree with last few posts on RA. I say resurrect this question in August. Listen to the murmurs from camp; if he get more reps and praise from coaches, definitely keep him and see what happens this season. If he is just another also ran, then look for a TE trade ideally. Personally I think any trade where we lose a body at this point in time is premature.

So without adding much in the passing game at TE or receiver opposite Terry it will be much easier to game plan for him. |

Yep, I'm excited to see how Terry will handle the extra attention this year. Also, this is where Scott needs to prove his worth as offense coordinator. |

Will he get extra attention though. From my perspective it seemed clear to every one after about 2 games last year that he was the sole play maker on offence. When later in the year Sims started making plays it was in part because defences were concentrating on McClaurin. McClaurin was being guarded 1 on 1 by the top corner-backs on the opposite team including the likes of Slay and Gilmore. I don't think he can get more attention. |

Some defenses could have a safety hover nearby McLaurin's side sometimes to help out the CB guarding McLaurin. Based on what I learned about McLaurin, his work ethics is off charts and I have no doubts McLaurin is doing everything to refine his skills in this offseason, which will put more pressure on #1 CBs than last season. |
Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Q. Do we have another emerging star at WR?
From PFF: We often look at efficiency numbers for wide receivers that explore how effective they are after the ball comes their way. Drawing targets is a skill in itself, though. To be targeted at a high rate, a receiver must consistently separate from his defender and earn the trust of his quarterback by showing him that he can come down with the pass even if the separation isn’t there. These were the players who excelled in those areas, drawing targets on the highest percentage of their routes in 2019. Note: The minimum route threshold used was 25% of the maximum routes run in the group being examined. For example, Curtis Samuel ran more routes than any other wide receiver in 2019, with 647 routes run. The minimum route threshold was set to 25% of 647 (162). ALL ROUTES: MICHAEL THOMAS, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS Player Routes run Targets Target rate 1. Michael Thomas 599 180 30.1% 2. Davante Adams 427 124 29.0% 3. Julio Jones 572 149 26.0% 4. DeAndre Hopkins 584 146 25.0% 5. Tyreek Hill 351 87 24.8% 6. Keenan Allen 596 147 24.7% 7. Steven Sims 213 52 24.4% 8. Allen Robinson 630 153 24.3% 9. T.Y. Hilton 276 67 24.3% 10. Alshon Jeffery 286 69 24.1% There aren’t many surprises in this top-10, but the name that would win out in a contest of “which of these names is not like the others” would be Steven Sims of the Washington Redskins. As an undrafted free agent rookie out of Kansas, Sims played a big role in the offense after coming on late in the season in a slot role. His PFF grade wasn’t all that impressive (64.4), but Sims had clearly earned the trust of quarterback Dwayne Haskins. He should get every opportunity to build on that campaign in 2020 with an uncertain depth chart behind Terry McLaurin. LINED UP IN THE SLOT: MICHAEL THOMAS, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS Player Routes run Targets Target rate 1. Michael Thomas 179 64 35.8% 2. DeAndre Hopkins 211 57 27.0% 3. Cooper Kupp 375 99 26.4% 4. Listened to Sheehan's latest episode. He said that a report came out (I cannot find it online if someone does know about it could you post it?) that said the Redskins have had the slowest growth by far of every single NFL franchise. Declining attendance, lack of corporate sponsors, lack of viewership in the metro area. To me a rebrand just makes economic sense at this point.

Philly's most hated players on divisional teams. #10 Dexter Manley. He is really the Skins only representative but the author gives his reasons why. The video of Dexter smacking people around is worth a watch. Definitely a few flags there if he was playing in 2019. I like the one where he hits Phil Simms in the head while sacking him.
