english fans are pretty cocky, youd think they won more than 1 world cup a whopping 44 years ago.

Re: The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread
When they scored I ran and slid on my knees across the carpet like the players do when they score. Pure adrenaline. Now that it's faded, I noticed I shredded my kneecaps. LOL. Both raw as hell. Ouch. I'm an idiot. Hahaha.
That's the happiest I've been about a sporting event in a long time. |
Re: The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread

Actually she was bouncing around the room with me when they scored. We both tinkered with our work schedules this week so we could be home for the match. Good times. She did call me an idiot for sliding across the carpet. Hahaha. |

Vaguebooking has hit an all-time high today. Tons of "wow" or "I can't believe it!" status updates.

Fixed that for you. |
Re: The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread
I'm not exactly sure why, maybe because of the successful marketing behind the Seattle Sounders, but soccer is big in Seattle and growing at a rapid pace.
Classy.
I was going to congratulate you but I won't bother now. :Flush:
Congrats to the English side for defeating Slovenia and moving on to stage 2. You are right that some of the comments here, including one of mine the other day, have not been all that classy. Sorry for that. However, please understand that we all have encountered English fans (not you) who have been so very arrogantly condescending that they could be Dallas Cowboys fans. |
Re: The Official 2010 FIFA World Cup Thread
Thanks for that Lotus.
I do appreciate that a lot of England fans do appear to have a ridiculously superior attitude when it comes to soccer. I have to deal with them on a daily basis on another forum. I like to think it is more about eternal optimism than true arrogance. Anyway, best of luck to USA in their game with Ghana. I have a feeling you will do better than England will against Germany. :food-smil |
