Well seeing as how the term young is a relative term that depends on an indivduals perception your not really laying any facts out there now are you.See, I can split hairs too.I also dont see how I am blowing sushine up anyones backside but whatever you are entitled to your opinion.Anyways, I like the hire only because it maybe means that Snyder is no longer picking retreads and looking to start something fresh.Maybe it will work maybe it wont, none of use know.
No that is something I can get behind. And I never said 54 was young or old (but people certainly generally wouldn't call someone who is 54 a "spring chicken") |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
By the way, Joe Gibbs played football at Cerritos Junior College. Jim Zorn attended high school in Cerritos, CA. The distance between the football fields (according to Google Earth) is less that 1 mile. Hopefully there is something in the water in Cerritos.

I have no idea but people keep throwing it around as in "he has experience calling plays under center." |
I wish him well, but this is not an easy franchise or fanbase to make your start with
I think it was definately Snyders intention to hire Jim Fassel, but after witnessing the extreme backlash form his fan base he realized he had to do something different. It was said that Snyder was impressed by what went on in Seattle as as result of our two playoff apearences there during Gibbs II. Maybe this is a classic case of "If you can't beat um, join um". I like the move though, and am interested in seeing just what else in involved as far as staff is concerned. |

I am Zorn out with the Danny and Vinny Show.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
Gutsy move. I do approve of it. He is young, hungry, and wants to put in his own system. Snyder realized his screwup about hiring assistants before hiring a new HC and just made the first hired assistant the new HC. Only thing is with the West Coast, can JC adapt to another new offense relatively quick, and does this mean Collins is worthless? We need to draft a QB or two now in my opinion. It sort of stinks since we have to get linemen and some DBs also, but if JC fails or gets hurt I am not going to like our team in the hands of old QB's.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
Well the best part is he has a 0-0 record so we should have a clean slate in evaluating him come opening day
|
Re: JLC: Head Coach Jim Zorn?
Wow, this would be very interesting.. If Zorn becomes HC, then who would be our OC?? I don't mind giving someone who is nobody a chance at HC position.. It's better than all choices we have right now, I guess?
How about Ron Meeks? |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
Lol, 10 bucks says Cooley brings back the short shorts as a homage to Zorn.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
That's the concern. We're talking about an owner who wants to win now because he too often still thinks like the fans who want to win now.
Not really. All owners and fans want to win now, why are we any different and we have the talent to do so. We just came off a playoff season with a large amount of injuries, with some luck on the injury front next season, a solid draft we have all the tools to win now. Getting this coaching staff assembled is a key factor, and of course on the same page. We have maintained most of our other vital coaching staff, Buges, Blache, Smith, Gray, Byner, etc. And Zorn signed a 5 year deal, so to me that at least shows they are willing to commit to the guy for the future. I like our chances with Zorn. |

You have to give VC props for hanging it all out there. He can't hide behind a HOF to avoid taking responsibility for any mistakes. He went out and hired a QB coach and everybody who watches football is going to know exactly who is pulling the strings player-personnel wise |
