Re: Draft Day Trades: Jets Interested? (rumor)
when did this kris jenkins rumor start up cause if we get him then we could consider trading down and nabbing gaines adams while getting an extra pick or two some where
Re: Draft Day Trades: Jets Interested? (rumor)
what is this trade exactly is it just betts for vilma and number 6 pick for 25 cause if so the skins should not accept that

you have a lot of posts without exactly saying a whole lot. |
Re: Draft Day Trades: Jets Interested? (rumor)
leon isn't that great. the jets O line was better than expected last year, and it's only going to get better, which would let lesser talent at RB get by (See chester taylor and the vikes), but a good runner could really help them.
vilma is a GREAT player, but without DTs to protect him, his value to the defence would be greatly diminished. and depending on griffin to stay healthy and golston to turn into a superstud overnight is just betting too much on ifs. |
Re: Draft Day Trades: Jets Interested? (rumor)
i would feel alot better about this trade if that kris jenkins rumor becomes a reality
|
Re: Draft Day Trades: Jets Interested? (rumor)
the jenkins thing was purely speculative to begin with. it's not happening, unless the skins aren't going to try for a FA corner this offseason.

Re: Draft Day Trades: Jets Interested? (rumor)
i figured that i want nate clements more than kris jenkins anyways
I think if it came down to it, I'd lean toward Vilma. While Branch could be good, even great, Vilma is a known commodity and he's still young as has been stated.
If Griff, whom I thought had an off year, can return to form and Golston get's more comfortable with the scheme, conditioning and so forth, that could give us some punch up front. So in my mind Vilma then becomes an intersting piece to the puzzle. He also seems to be a leader on the field. He seems to be very vocal toward other teammates, which we need.
Griff's play has slipped since 04. In 04 he was really really good. Hopefully he can get back to that level in 07. I'm not so sure about Goldston. We had better get some depth at that position. Since we like FA's so much I'd sign a fat ass like Keith Traylor or Ted Washington. Not sure about their status. Let him play run downs. We gotta do something about the line. That's the heart of your defense. |

Yea, I was the one who broke the story. Read the beginning of the thread. That was a proposed deal after GM told me that, "The JETS have been trying to do everything to get Betts..." However, that fact only leads to the value of Betts on the free agent/trade block. We could use that value to get better at position in which we are thin(e.g. Corner, Linebacker, or common sense). I think its a good look. Fans arent too attached to him yet, and his value is high after 1,000 yards this season. We need help now. I cant see the same faces. The same faces that remind us that they are the result of bungled free afency pratices, can not be on our team next season. We need fresh faces from the draft that will mature into "cornerstone" players for us in the future. If not for that, then for the fact that we only have 1 pick in the first 3 rounds of the draft. Then none until the 5th!! PS Bill Clinton for "King of America" Coming Soon |
OUR OLINE IS JUST AS GOOD AS INDY'S IF NOT BETTER and trading betts would be the dumbest thing the redskins ever did since signing adam archuleta to a 30 million dollar deal i say we re-sign dockery pick up clements and fletcher and go for branch first but if he's gone get gaines adams that will shore up our defense leave the offense be we have weapons there and since we dont pick again until the 5th round we sohuld look for a true kick returner althugh rock did a decent job for us look at the numbers we have had 3 kickoff returns for touchdowns by rock, ladell, and antonio brown who was cut so just think if we had a devin hester, or a eddie drummond our avg starting field position was one of the worst in the league last year and i would much rather have campbell who is still developing to have to go 50-60 yards to score rather than 75-80
HA HA HA HA Dude, it is Friday and I just got off work. Please pass what you are smoking. Give me one example (besides that you typed it in capital letters) how our offensive line is better than Indy's. I will give you three why they are better. Indy's offense finishes drives with touchdowns typically with runs, Indy's won the Superbowl. They have two pro-bowlers. Your turn (in lowercase please). |

Load the box to stop the run near the goal line and Manning audibles out to a pass. Lay back and their runners are very effective getting to the end zone. Without question, Washington's O-line is more physical than Indy's. That said, their O-line versatility fits Indy's offensive approach, while the Skins' physicality fits the game that Gibbs favors. |

Overall, Indy has had the better line for years now, but our line excells at run blocking. We had a bunch of pass protection problems early on, but apparently we got those issues shored up by Week 17.
