I'd be looking for a new law firm, that's an absurd way to treat a person.

Why is it so hard for some people to leave a proper voicemail? I get so many messages where people don't leave their name or number, or don't give me any clue why they are calling.

And on the flipside you have people that give you way too much info, and repeat their number 2-3 times. Enough already.

^^ The ones I hate are the folks who leave a long-winded message and then zip through their number at the end. Used to be, I would have to listen to the whole f'ing message to get to the number - now we have a 3 second back button so you can replay just that part.

When leaving a message, I always say my name, warn phone number is coming ("my number is"), brief pause then say the number. Repeat once. leave message.

Is it that so hard to do??

What's up with voicemails in general? I'm sure there are professions that require them, but where I work if you give me an email, I have: a written record, I don't have to put in my voicemail password, I don't have to remember details of the voicemail and I don't have to spend my time on a long message.

Today a woman left me a long voicemail, physically WALKED to my office and left me a note saying, "Hey Ben, please call me."

It would have taken literally 5 seconds for an email saying: "Ben, how do I add network printers?"

Totally agree. I always give out my email address and tell people it's the easiest way to reach me. I'll typically answer an email right away. A voicemail... when I get around to it. Playing phone tag with someone in this day and age is ridiculous.

Amen. The biggest problem is when it's a voicemail saying, "Hey, this is _________. Call me back!" Thanks for the details.

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?

Today I finally snapped on my local radio station...

Basically I don't like a ton of pop music anyway, but I DO enjoy the morning hosts so we listen to K92 on our way in to work. LMFAO came on AGAIN for the 12903102983012978127318979128731298731892nd time and I literally was like, "MOTHER ****ER! NOT AGAIN!" I called the radio station stating I would donate any amount of money to a charity if they retired that song for good.

I have never developed such an aversion to a song in my life. I'm STILL seething from even hearing the intro this morning. That's bad.

HA! Yeah, I mean I don't mind some guilty-pleasure generic pop every now and then, but "I'm Sexy and I Know it" has to be the most overplayed, crappy song of this generation.

Growing up I worked in Pizza joint (5 years) that had a jukebox that only played two songs when it didn't have money it.

They were:

Copacabana

Red Red Wine

If I hear those songs at anytime I will instantly go into epileptic seizure.
