Re: Around the NFL- Week 3

Well, there's an incorrect call by the replacements directly influencing the ending of a game. Maybe this will be the catalyst to get a deal done.

Re: Around the NFL- Week 3

I could possibly see it being disputed in real time but how do you miss that after review?!

CRedskinsRule 09-24-2012 11:52 PM

the replacement ref is asking can he go home now /sarcasm

Up until now i have thought - well both sides get bad calls its a level playing field. Now i think this season shouldnt even count.

Even Seahawk fans are calling this a loss for their team... this was hilariously bad. Worst call ever?

Because possession between two people can't be reviewed (per commentators), it has to be made on the field. Funny thing about that though, possession of a catch can be determined via review. /shrug

JoeRedskin 09-24-2012 11:58 PM
How did they miss offensive PI? Tate pushed the defender to the ground. So awful.
It was blatant. Oh ... they will have fun with this in the media

Wow. Absolutely horrible call, not just on the pick but on he missed PI. Well there's the game deciding call the refs screwed up.

It's time for one of these commentators to stop pussy footing around and light the league up. Grudges is being way too nice.

I agree. Green Bay just got dicked over and if I were them they should not have come back out for that BS extra point. Gruden is so pissed off!

I don't feel so bad about our loss now...lol. Imagine having to swallow that one....

$60,000 per club is what's holding up the real refs from being back. Let that sink in...lol

You would think you would be able to review if both players did indeed have possession.

mooby 09-25-2012 12:08 AM

If I were Mike McCarthy I'd be chewing out the refs right now, fine be damned.

Wow, if I'm Mike McCarthy I'm calling for Roger Goodells head because of his arrogance of not going with the regular refs and going with these clowns who should be reffing their sons basketball game, not NFL games where millions of dollars are at stake every game.

sandtrapjack 09-25-2012 12:17 AM

Somewhere there's a gang of NFL referees at a sports bar watching MNF and popping the cork on a bottle of Dom Perignon cuz they are about to get paid.

Here's a hint. Ole Rog works for the owners. It's not him. It's his bosses. Or at least some of them.

Watching Rogers post game interview. Man, he is doing everything he can to avoid losing it. The reporters keep asking him stupid "Does this make you feel bad?" questions.

Ruhskins 09-25-2012 12:24 AM

Since boycotting is not an option, coaches should trot out their 2nd and 3rd stringers next week. Let see how the ratings fare with a whole bunch of backups playing.

If the refs make the wrong call on the last play of th game, the league should overturn the ruling and award the win to the packers

We need to have a fan union so that we can make sure that nobody attends another game until the real refs are back. Lol. This is really sickening now - i cant believe the last play in the game -an innocent hail mary - just took this to a completely other level!

Why do people want to keep blaming Goodell? This is the owners doing, NOT Roger Goodell. They simply care more about profits than the game of football. Always have, always will.

I hate reporters. They know that players and coaches are subject to discipline by the league for criticizing the officials and they play on the emotions of players like A-Rod and yet to goad them into those comments. Makes me sick.

I still don't see it happening anytime soon, crazy as it sounds the NFL is at full attention and ratings will still be crazy high because you never know what will happen next with these refs.

We need for the coaches to put the backups as a sign of protest. It will be like preseason and people will stop watching.

Too much money on the line for the coaches to play with there future like that. Plus, I just don't see any coach giving their owner the big "FU" and still being employed.

Maybe the players could do something like refuse to play, not sure if, under the CBA, they reserved the right to refuse play when safety is an issue.

Again, I propose a ban on the purchase of all NFL merchandise until the refs return.

Roger has the ultimate power!!! This makes 0 sense if owners have the say in this, because the owners teams are losing over ridiculous calls!

Why is ESPN, SI, CBS sports, Fox Sports, etc keep saying blame roger instead of blame the owners. I'm pretty sure you and NCSkins have that wrong. Roger is the one who has the ultimate authority and say in all this.

No he doesn't. He bargains on behalf of the owners. The owners have the final vote whether to approve a deal or not. Thought you would have gathered all this from the owners lockout with the players.

My favorite part is after the touchdown call was made and Rodgers is walking off the field you can see Micheal Silver mouth "what the f was that?" lol

I thought that was because it was owners against players with Roger and the owners against Demaurice smith and the players union (Foxworth, Saturday, etc)

I think refs are a different case, because they're a whole other union and aren't owned by the players or the owners, their owned by the league office which is roger.

I read a peter king column a few weeks back talking about this and peter said something along the lines of "...if the NFL won't budge on signing these referees then an upset owner like Jerry Jones may just go ahead and say 'here roger let me just cut them a check and get this over with', because he doesn't want his team losing over these officials..."
