Re: Scott Turner Fired
I don't believe that someone out there looking for an OC opportunity is going to pass up a chance, lame duck HC or not. Jay Gruden said this about when he took the Jax OC job. Guys have to take opportunities as they come, this year's hot OC candidate is next year's forgotten name.

Re: Scott Turner Fired
Ron needs to absolutely go after a guy like Slowik. It's easy to say someone like that wouldn't want to come here in a lame duck year for RR etc., but if you are confident in what you can do, you could ultimately thrive here as an OC with these weapons on offense and this defense. Really just need to improve that o-line and build an offensive scheme around what Howell does best. It's actually a great opportunity in my opinion.
And again, I am laughing out loud at everyone who is balking at the idea of having a physical running team. At no time did RR or Mayhew say that they didn't want a balanced attack. Everyone just inferred that. Who doesn't want a physical power running game, and to keep the opponent's offense off the field? Contrary to what a lot are surmising, that does not equate to not having a capable and potent vertical attack. You can have both. |
Agreed.
I like B-Rob but I'd like him more if he complimented the passing attack. Not sure if Ron sees him as a thumper when I'd rather see him out in space, finding the gap and hitting it quickly. We'll see - the Commies media seems to think we're gonna get some retread since Ron is a lame duck coach at the moment. Not many young up-and-comers want to work for a guy who might not be around after next year.
I mean, we just had a young up and comer coach. I don't really care who comes, I just want someone that is more adaptable. At the end of the day, this may all be a moot point, if the new ownership cleans house. |

Not to mention that this will be an OC who will call plays, which doesn't happen with every OC position in the league. |
Re: Scott Turner Fired
Let's let Major Tuddy pick the new O.C.
Love the new avatar lol. |

Ha! Ok. You got me there. |
Re: Scott Turner Fired
So we get Hackett for the OC and Aaron Rodgers comes with him to Washington...of course they'd have to sign Randall Cobb too.
|
Re: Scott Turner Fired
If you thought trading for Carson Wentz was prohibitive to improving the rest of the roster, trading for Aaron Rodgers and assuming that contract would be Carson Wentz x 3.
No thanks. |
Re: Scott Turner Fired
Trading for Aaron Rodgers would be a Snyder move. Hopefully he won't be around to push for that.
|
Re: Scott Turner Fired
I'd have no problem trading for Rodgers. He would make this an instant SB contender. Does he want Hackett as his OC? Bring him too.

He would have the best WR/RB/TE group he's ever had in a long time. |
Re: Scott Turner Fired
Yeah, he'd be great behind this o-line, which would essentially be the same (or perhaps worse) next year if you trade away a bunch of picks and take on that contract.
He had the benefit of having the 3rd best o-line this year according to PFF and he's watching the playoffs just like we are. Our o-line has to be bottom 5-10... You think he won't get killed? Besides that, Seattle received multiple quality players and five draft picks for RW. AR would garner that and more. Nobody can be serious about giving up all those assets AND taking on his $30+ million contract, if they are also serious about improving the entirety of the roster - which is desperately needed. |
