They were lifeless before the FG and they were a different team going into the locker room. It changed everything.

The defense play and gameplan was outstanding. The gameplan was to play the run tough while dropping into the short zone routes, dL getting their hands up

We completely shut down the run...one dimensional team are extremely vulnerable

Something else: KPL, Cole Holcomb, Kam Curl and Jimmy Moreland are great tacklers. It’s a big difference and shows up on the field
The play of the game was when Alex Smith ran off the field with the ball just before halftime. If he doesn't do that WFT doesn't get that kick off because the clock runs out. WFT was dead in the water at that point and getting those 3 points gave them life and hope for the second half. If they go into halftime down 14-0 they don't win.
I saw on the replay that he was smiling while running off with the ball.

He wither knows the rulebook at expert level or just knew it was a trick that would work.

Hopkins likely would have missed a rushed kick, if we even got a snap off.

Genius veteran leadership play right there.

Love these comments:

Ref:I need the ball
Smith: it’s special I’m keeping it
Ref: how is it special you got sacked
Smith: You wouldn’t get it

------------------------------

Coach: You can't take a sack, no timeouts
Alex: Watch this

------------------------------

This man actually is smarter than the whole jets and falcons teams combined

------------------------------

Commenators: Smith is sacked! Washington has no time outs!

Alex Smith: Yes we do. *Takes the ball off the field
See?

------------------------------

The NFL was probably pissed that they are about to make the "Alex Smith Rule"

At no point did I see a lifeless team out there last night.

The FG did provide some momentum going into half time, but I'm not willing to say it changed everything.

It was a no lose situation at that point in the game. 9 times out of 10 that is flagged for delay of game. While we are at hats off to Tress Ways acting as well.

This should be known as the "K-Ball Game".

Smith had to know exactly how it would go because my first reaction would be to call Delay of Game against us. :smashfreak:

Re: Best win in a long time against all odds post game thread

The offense in the first half was stagnant. 91 total yards and 2 first downs total prior to the FG drive. Subjective on whether we still win if we go into the half 0-14 but the offense was struggling.

----

trap = house .. because technically it was in pittsburgh. got it.

Personally I like Urban Dictionary's definition better
