For real...that's just what everyone wanted to hear from training camp wasn't it?? Wentz missing a lot of targets...aside from injuries it's one of the worst things we could hear. |
Re: 2022 Commanders off season thread part 1
Anyone who thought Wentz would come in here and be on target, all the time, in a new offense, with receivers/backs he's never thrown to, simply had unrealistic expectations.
There's bound to be growing pains, and the defense is out there to make plays too. |

More LB stuff:
Commanders LB Nate Gerry Gives Washington Much-Needed Depth https://www.si.com/nfl/commanders/news/washington-nathan-nate-gerry-philadelphia-eagles-sign-free-agency-san-francisco-49ers Commanders LB Jamin Davis 'Feels More Like Himself' Heading Into Second Season https://www.si.com/nfl/commanders/news/washington-linebacker-jamin-davis-training-camp-feeling-more-like-himself |

Get your timing down. Be aggressive on plays that you may or may not be in a game. But come week one no excuses. I remember when Casserly traded for Brad Johnson in 99. He had to learn Norv's offense. He had to adjust to new wr's he'd never thrown to. He had perhaps the best year of his career. Took the team to the playoffs and was one lucky, wacky play away from the NFC Championship against the Rams. At some point this year when this team is eliminated from the playoffs, which will probably be by week 10 or 11, we're going to see Sam Howell. |

Just gotta wonder if we will be active in cuts trying to find LB, corner depth. I think we should be

I saw an interview with RR when he said that the staff would be very active in cuts trying to find LBs. He was asked "How very?' and he answered "Very very". He didn't mention any other positions in that particular interview. |

Y'all can toggle through the positions to see who is (or isn't) still available. https://walterfootball.com/freeagents2022ILB.php |

This should have been addressed at the beginning of the offseason. Genuinely concerned about our back 7 defense. Hope I'm wrong.

It really is a glaring hole - the back 7. Boggles my mind that it was not addressed as it was our glaring hole (along with qb) last year. |
