Man I agree. I saw a lot of steelers games while he was there know a few die hard fans.... they hated him! Nit just average football viewers either.. die hards. |

Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
So supposedly this is the reason Johnson didn’t want to join, what a douche.
ESPN’s Jenna Laine reported that there were certain developments that led Johnson to choose not to join the Commanders. According to Laine, Johnson was “turned off” by the ownership of the Commanders, describing them as “basketball guys” who were overly confident in their football opinions. Additionally, there were rumors that he “didn’t interview well,” which ultimately led to the decision that it was not a good fit for both sides. |

Almost like Johnson is defending his choice and not interviewing well. I preferred Quinn anyway. Johnson is better suited for oc it seems like and is content there. Quinn clearly wants to be a head coach and taken a team to Super Bowl before doing it. |

Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
It's his excuse to stay where he is - turn it back on the WAS owners - knowing he wasn't going to be selected.
He had a chance to redeem himself with a second interview, but apparently he wasn't confident it would change anything. |
Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
Sounds like damage limitation to me, if he wants a job next year he needs to start looking the part. Disrespecting NFL owners wont endear him to the others. They want to be respected by their coaches. Regardless his agent has to be careful as he has others he represents.

Based on the article, it certainly doesn't seem like Peters and the owners were locked onto Johnson at all. The fact that Peters told Raheem Morris' team that he prefers to complete the entire search process when they gave him the heads up about the Falcons job, it tells me that Peters and the owners had a clear procedure and wants to follow through with it. Quinn certainly didn't seems like he was our back up plan but an actual real candidate for us since the beginning. |

the way he handled the process; we may have dodge a built for real though; you know a team is coming to see you, at best go to a nice lunch with them see what they say and offer; then tell TBNT he acted like a 15 year old afraid to go to his first interview at McDonalds |
Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
The hiring of Quinn and Peters gained support from Jonathan Allen, one of Washington’s defensive leaders and a player “frustrated” with the team’s direction entering the offseason.
“I haven’t met a player — and I’ve probably talked to hundreds of players who played for (Quinn) — that does not love him,” the two-time Pro Bowl selection said at a local radio event on Friday. “The thing that makes him a great coach is how he galvanizes a team and gets guys to play hard. That’s half the battle with winning.” |

Lake Lewis Jr
@LakeLewis · 3m Dan Quinn said he met with Eric Bieniemy today and although he has great respect and a brotherhood with EB, they wouldn’t be coaching together here. In other words, EB won’t be back in DC. #NFL #httc |
Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
Quinns press conference, i know its just a press conference, is making me feel a bit better about the hire. Philosophy wise and intent wise he is saying all the right things. From team building and then creating a good on field product.... i am more comfortable with the hire.
Obviously will it translate onto the field will be the biggest telling point but -- first impression today is a good one for me. He seems like he has evolved and learned from his past experiences as a coaxh and an x's ans o's stand point. seems like some great humility and willingness to keep evolving. Again, step one, first impression, happiness and kool aid flowing but.... I'm impressed at first glance. |

I know almost everyone wins the press conference, but hard not to be impressed w/ Quinn. He's no doubt a true leader and that's what going to be needed to turn this mess around.
And enough of Ben Johnson, so tired of that guy. |

I think these guys are going to (at least at first) run through brick walls for Quinn. In his press conference, he specifically praised Payne and Allen without actually naming them and I am sure that they heard the call. |
Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
Let’s hope so. We can’t just jettison our first rounds picks like we’ve been doing and they’re both talented. Wish we still had Sweat.

Don’t disagree with this. He knew change was coming, and was getting paid…. Chose to pout and seemingly not give it his all. I understand the root of his frustration but when you are not giving it your all (like Payne was) just stfu. |

Patrick Queen? IF so, yes. Hard pass on Budda though. He is getting up there and the combination of age and injuries and he is nowhere near the player he used to be. And he was one of my favorite players! |

The NFL always has at least 1 or 2 teams that unexpectedly get way better from one year to the next. Why not us?
I'm all in. Pass the kool-aid (w/ some rum in it). |

Kam Curl has been nothing but a success here. Rivera/JDR set him up for failure. He didn't have a real position. Rivera's obsession with "flexibility" limited his impact. He was a safety that wasn't allowed to actually be a safety. I've never heard anything but good things about him from coaches/teammates. There's a price limit on everything, football or not, but I'd like to keep Curl if the cost is reasonable. |
Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
I hope they figure out a way to keep Curl. Can't pay him top safety money, but he should get a healthy contract.

Re: Our New Head Coach - Dan Quinn
next we need a good OL coach and QB coach as well a secondary coach and DL and LB coaches wonder if any rumors if who they might be?
