lets fire allen, and bring mcglohan back
Let's also start hunting for the pot of gold, because I'd put equal odds on both.

Love the idea dmek, but this is the Skins we're talking about. Doing that would be admitting a major mistake, and we know DS would never do that.

I doubt seriously with all that he has been through and knows about how we run here, no amount of money could bring Scot back here. Same thing with Gregg Williams that i've seen some people lobby for in the past to come back here and be DC....

Well, also knowing that there is a grievance hearing set between Scot and the Redskins, I can feel confident in saying McCloughan coming back is a pipe dream.

B Mitch says the skins are too soft and it's from the coaches to players, basically said we don't have guys that are nasty and want to win games, we have guys that are cool with losing. Say what u want but I love that guy.

I’d be willing to bet McCloughan would come back here, if Allen was gone.

I think you are right. He would not rule it out when asked after he was let go. I son't think his issue is with Dan, its with Bruce.

And I’d cut that deal in a heartbeat. Maybe someone will kidnap Bruce and dump him on Mara’s doorstep with a note saying, “Here’s the answer to your GM search. Good luck.” Win, win, win.

I agree with this. I also see don't see the slightest inclination Dan is even pondering firing Bruce.

I don't know. I mean, if I was in that situation and I'm filing a grievance against my former employer, trying to get money owed to me, I wouldn't want to go back working for said employer, especially knowing that the owner is also testifying against me.

Doesn't make a lot of sense, but then again, a lot of things this organization has done throughout the years doesn't make a lot of sense to me, so anything is possible I guess.

Gabbert was QB sneaking all over us. Every time I see a qb sneak that works I hate Gruden a bit more.

Oh yeah, the dude who had the inside info on here? Would be nice to know what are the odds of Bruce Allen's seat being at least a little warm if not stinking red hot?

They should squash those rumors, he’s under contract and going nowhere.

I think with the win today and considering all things Gruden has had to deal w/ he's safe. I doubt he's going to the Bengals.

If Gruden stays, Cousins and Colt McCoy need to become squat brothers. I want them to have some thick ass legs so we can run QB sneaks like every other NFL team.

Jay will probably be safe after we go 8-8 and it's hard to fire him after that

If the 'skins win next week, they finish with a 3 game win streak and finish at .500. I don't see how Gruden is gone unless he is traded.

Just like the redskins to win games we don't need to win and lose games we need to win. I watched the games this week and last week and those teams were horrible. We will probably win next week to put us farther down in the draft. Another average season and no playoffs.

8 - 8 feels a lot better than 4 - 12. At the beginning of the season most "experts" predicted we would finish in 3rd or 4th place. The predictions were any where from 4 -12 to 9 -7. With all of the injuries, most people outside of D.C would say an 8 - 8 season is a success.

Instead of a fire Jay Gruden thread, we should have a fire bill Callahan and tje special team coach thread. The running game has been a disaster with one all pro left tackle, pro bowl right guard and top 15 right tackle. The tight ends don't block and in most cases dont try.He is the running game coach and should be on the hot seat.

Agree 100% the biggest fault I have with Jay is calling plays where VD and Reed when healthy have a blocking assignment.

Reed tries and gets abused. VD has the tools but no interest.

They are both basically receivers.

People are waiting to hire coaches from our team, no one should be fired. We should be making better personnel decisions.

Scouting and coaches should be communicating to find players that best fit the scheme.
Keep the players that have been good for us.

Find a legit running back
A wide receiver that fits
Legit Left Guard
a Strong Safety
Etc.

1) I agree most of our coaches need to stay. But I wouldn't be mad to see a change at WR coach and Strength and conditioning !

2)I'd say we have a SS in Montae. IIRC he simply had a big concussion...

Re: By Popular Demand. Should the Skins FIRE Jay Gruden? Thread

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Redskins will retain Jay Gruden as head coach.
The Ringer's Mike Lombardi added that the Skins are in the process of trying to extend assistant coaches' contracts, an obvious implication that Gruden's job is safe. Per RapSheet, there is a "deep understanding" within the organization that Washington disappointed this year due in large part to an unlucky run of injuries. The Redskins can finish 8-8 if they beat the Giants in Week 17.

As expected

No big surprise, can’t blame the staff for the absurd amount of injuries. I really hope they take a hard look at the training staff and strength/conditioning programs.

I agree Matty, training staff, strength + conditioning program, and WR coach are my top staff priorities for next year. I've been very unimpressed with our WR blocking this year, plus the development of our young guys has been unimpressive. Ike Hilliard can walk. S/N it will be the second time we got rid of Hilliard, he was also the WR coach here in 2012 and Shanny let him walk after the year. Not implying anything, just thought it was interesting.

Kowitca and Hilliard can take a hike, the team can do better.

Re: By Popular Demand. Should the Skins FIRE Jay Gruden? Thread

Look at the injuries? How do you train for getting rolled up on? Or Allen's injury was basically a broken foot. How do you train for getting stronger feet? Norman has a internal injury. Some of these were flat out bad luck. Guys like Reed will never be healthy, no matter how hard he trains.

This staff is flat out average to sometimes below average. I guess they're keeping things together for the sake of continuity.

Obviously some injuries aren’t preventable, some are though. Doesn’t hurt to at least evaluate what happened this year. Maybe it was just shit luck. Maybe not.
