The lions are scary good right now!

Bills playing well, Lions playing well, Redskins....it's 1991 all over again!
Cutler played as well as I've seen a QB play this year last night though |
Re: Around the NFL Week 5
Excuse me Senator but Rex Grossman is no Mark Rypen

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
What an ugly game last night. I actually turned it off and watched the Golf Fix. lol. I can't stand all the flags. And Mike Martz should've been fired right after the game. He simply doesn't care about protecting his QB.

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
What's funny is that the Lions said no to "Mr. DOMINANT" Fatal Bert and aren't missing a beat.
Also, it seems like this "Wide 9" defense only works when you've got good LBs and a dominating DT in the middle. |
They remind me of the 99 Rams
'99 Rams had a much more explosive and consistent offense. Chicago is shitty on the O-line and their D seem to be nearing their expiration. It was just a matter of when for Da Bears' D to lose it's mojo. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 5
What a difference Martin Mayhew has made in Detroit when they finally kicked out Matt Millen.....Love their Skins in Detroit.

Tebow announced as the starter in Denver....any interest in bring Mr Orton to Washington?

Not now. It is too late for him to be of any use this season. And next season Landry Jones will be starting for us. :) |

What about the Chicago Cowboys??? You know what they say about one mans trash..... |
Re: Around the NFL Week 5
Wide 9's are most beneficial in a 50 with a badass nose and the offense runs a bunch of two back sets and bootlegs. Bootleg killer.

I would agree , maybe Orton comes in during F/A next year , and I would think Shanny is going to draft a qb in rd 1 or 2 next April . We just need to beat the iggles and 9ers / next few games and the skins will be in good shape . |
Re: Around the NFL Week 5
If we could beat the eagles and 49ers we would be at worst 5-3(and thats assuming we lose to Buffalo and Carolina which I dont see happening) thats pretty amazing considering how most of us were expecting 7-9 wins at the MOST this season! The next 4 games are all very winnable if you ask me. The 49ers will be the toughest game in my opinion.

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
No way we make a deal for Orton.
He is vanilla on white toast. Lets draft a real QB next year and keep our two placeholders. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 5
Orton and Rex are both purgatory qb's.

This. I wish we could see what this offense is capable of with a true stud qb under center. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 5
Good question.
He's my fave college QB not named Luck.
His only drawback is he was named after Tom Landry. I'm sure being the starting QB for the Redskins would make his family proud that he rose above his upbringing. ;) |

Re: Around the NFL Week 5
So if he continues to impress and he does come out will he go in the top ten picks next year?
If so we will have to make a trade to get him. Not sure if I want to do that. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 5
I would draft in the 1st a QB, in the 2nd a C and in the 3rd a DB.

Not sure if this was posted yet, but apparently Reid wanted to pull a Sherm Smith move for their D. We really need a pre-game thread but I don't want to step on Matty's toes and ruin his week by creating it lol. |
Jones is a Junior but will most likely come back to OU next yr
See, that's why I'm rooting for OU to win the national championship. Then Jones will have won all that he can win in college and may opt for Redskins Park. |

He's been compared to Flacco A lot around here.. Good arm and some decent mobility |
Re: Around the NFL Week 5
With all the QB talent in next years draft, i wouldnt have a problem drafting 2 QB next year. Hey like Shanny says, competition
|

I want Cam Newton

So Terrelle Pryor (and Jim Tressel) has served his 5 game suspension
But tonights big story. Texans send conditional pick to Jets for Derrick Mason |
So Terrelle Pryor (and Jim Tressel) has served his 5 game suspension

Mason, for all his talents and accomplishments, unfortunately has a bit of a reputation around the league for being a complainer and poor locker room guy

Trololololol
Every damn QB worth his salt works on his mechanics and footwork ALL THE TIME because it HELPS THEM WIN. This is analagous to a concert pianist doing his ****ing scales and appregios and whatever other etudes, exercises, etc. Aaron Rodgers wasn't the Godgers that he is now a couple years ago. The dude spent an offseason improving his footwork and adding a throw(the skinny post) to his repetoire. |

It wouldn't surprise me if they inquired about Stallworth & we wanted more. We both run basically the same OF. |
