Very good character guy and I personally would love for us to bring him in, I am just not sure how he can help us on the field all that much. In the last few years he has been more of a return guy and we already have that in B.B.
I don't see how the guy can help at all, he missed all of last season and is basically a ARE type player. |

I agree. The real reason I would like to see him as a Redskin is that I grew up nextdoor to him and he was one of my friends growing up and played with him in HighSchool. Kinda selfish but it would be cool. Also excuse my ignorance but what is an ARE type player? I have tried almost every acronym I can think of and nothing works. |

Thats pretty cool that you grew up with the guy. You still talk to him? |

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Given our lack of depth at WR why not give someone like Davis a look? He knows the offense and is likely nothing more than a #3 or #4 type. Nothing to get our panties in a bunch over.

True I guess lol |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
And with the labor uncertainty, free agency is no guarantee so you better have some other guys lined up in case someone like Rice doesn't hit the market.

Yes basically Malcolm Kelley, injured a lot of the time but promising physical gifts. Yes I still talk to him mostly when we are both home. In all honesty he is probably the nicest person I have ever met. Extremely kind hearted and comes from an amazing family. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
And he was Vick's favorite target on the Hokies national championship runner up team in 1999-2000!

Speaking of Vick...signed his franchise tender today, as did Ngata I think with Shaun Rogers signing with the Saints, we'll be talking to Jenkins |

If Davis signs with us, we'll be coming to you to hook us up with an interview! :) |

Wow that's a bit of a surprise. Wonder if we will look at him? Fletch isn't getting any younger |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
I think this is probably more of a business move than anything else. Can't imagine GB would let him go that easily. Meaning I think they're trying to save some money at this moment, but they will bring him back
But if they don't...give me Hawk over Blades 8 out of 7 days (yes I said 8 out of 7) |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Aaron James Hawk.....a 27 year old LB with 34 experience ? Why would we not invite him?
|

Wasn't Hawk holding out or disgruntled during last seasons training camp? I really thought it was ironic that he is so unhappy about 3-4 or with the team and they go on to win a SB. Just be a team player, do your job your paid for. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Wow. That would be a dream -- AJ Hawk would get us closer to a good 3-4 LB core. Orakpo, Hawk, Fletcher.. Of course with Fletch, our average age is still around 40.. ;)
|
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Don't analysts say AJ Hawk isn't that great of an ILB in the 3-4? I'm sure he'd prefer to stay in GB or play in 4-3 defensive team that needs an OLB like the Vikes, Bears or Lions, Saints, Broncos, to name a few.

I just want to see Brady Quinn's sister in a Redskins jersey.

Vikings have signed Rice to a 1st round tender. Some uncertainty as to whether he's eligible. Depends on how the CBA shakes out

I thought he was going to be a free agent? Dunno why is the media acting like he wasn't going to stay with Minny. I guess someone could trade for him. |
Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
Rice is a free agent and he will test the market. The only question right now is what kind of free agent he is.

Re: Free Agency/Franchise Tag thread 2011
You know people keep on wondering why pro teams don't usually jump at the chance to add brothers. In short it's situation like the Palmer standoff that puts teams in exactly the type of situations that make everyone uncomfortable. Very rarely do you end up with the Sedin, McCourty or Pouncey twins. Actually if anything this latest example has shown me that twins are all right. Regular brothers on the other hand, bad idea that only sounds good initially on paper.

This is not the case here. Carson is still a half decent QB and probably could start on many teams. He know it and the team knows it. So does Jordan. Jordan on the other hand is limited in his decision making. If he backs his brother then he's likely fired and with out a job cause he's just not the type of QB teams are going to knock down walls to get to. Jordan also has to know he's most likely not going to start so he's better off just sitting back staying quiet and letting whatever chips there are fall where they may and practice with the WR's. |
