Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
That goal on Varly was the perfect example of why he will not be the starter going into the playoffs.

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Even though the score is 1-1 right now, the Caps are dominating this game. I can't wait for the playoffs!

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
How did we loose with Boyd Gordon and Matt Bradley on the shootout?
|
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
I'm just disappointed to see Ovy lose out to Henrik Sedin for most points and now that he didn't have a goal Stamkos and Crosby both have an opportunity to pass him to win the goal scoring title outright. But I look on the bright side, I'd rather win the Cup than see Ovy get all his individual stats and I'm sure he feels the same way.

ovi was out for 10 games. can't spell crosby without cry.

That's actually a really good question. That's a very popular quote when talking about Crosby with my fellow Caps fans lol. |
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
So the Caps finished the regular season with 121 points. Thats the most points franchise history. They won the presidents trophy, and have multiple players in top stat rankings.
They're going to be playing the Montreal Canadians in the first round of the playoffs. Montreal is a tough team, but we're going to beat them. At this point I will be disappointed with anything less than a Stanley Cup. We're unarguably the best team in the NHL and I'm going to expect nothing less than the world championship. Agreed? |
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
C-a-p-s caps, caps, caps!!

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
remember the last time we played montreal those whiny fans would cry for a penalty on every hit or when someone fell
get ready for a 4-0 spanking canadians! |
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
I just read that Backstrom is listed as probable for game 1. I hope he's okay. I don't even remember when he could have tweaked something.
Anyone else have any news on this? |

My boy Mathieu Perreault also got food poisoning earlier in the year. Caps need to start being more careful about where they eat. |

Backstrom's good to go

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Dude I am stoked! Finally a winning team in DC. It's like we have no idea what to do. I agree with everyone. It's Stanley Cup or bust at this point. Way to raise expectations guys.

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Hope our back-end can keep up.
Backstrom's good to go
And just when he gets better Theo takes an Ovie shot to the inside of his knee. The Post says its just a stinger and that he should be okay for tomorrow but as a DC sports fan I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
There's a good chance I puke before the game tomorrow. |
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Leonsis sure did a great job in rebuilding the Caps. Hope he does the same with the Wizards!

Depends on how the new CBA goes. If theres a tougher salary cap structure then the Wizards will have a better chance especially since building through the draft will once again become the best way to build a team as teams won't be able to afford a "big 3" or certainly not a big 3 with a supporting cast like the Celtics have been able to put together. Lol, still looks like theres going to be no sports in 2011. God I miss hockey right now, maybe even more then football. |

varly has changed his jersey number from 40 to 1

No, the 40 looked slick. 1 seems like kind of a weird number for a Goalie. Kind of like a QB wearing 1. Sure you can do it, but it doesn't seem right. |
Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Was thinking the same thing Dirt. Oh well, as long as he plays like he usually does I don't mind it!
