Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
Well, you kinda sorta almost got some facts in there. And your comment about Vick's rushing has some semblance of an arguement...almost.
You are very, very far behind in this debate. You seem to me to be the kind of guy who would post on the cbssportsline boards, and I'm guessing you are either 14 or 15. Not that it matters much, I'm pretty young myself, but you should probably stop trying to "teach" me lessons, and sit back and do some reading yourself. Since you have nothing to add, I think you can learn a lot from reading what the rest of us have to say. We've all been around this sport awhile, and can understand why teams really win and lose. I suggest you look into it. Not trying to downright disrespect you, but you just come off as a very narrow minded, irritable individual. Maybe you aren't, but all I can judge you on is your post. And from your posts, I can tell you flat out that you are too close minded when it comes to football to possibly understand my arguement. I'm not really a smart person, I just can seperate fact from fiction. Anyway you forgot these guys: Tedy Bruschi vs. Rob Morris Mike Vrabel vs Cato June Ty Law/Asante Samuel vs. Nick Harper Rodney Harrison vs. Bob Sanders Richard Seymour vs. Dwight Freeney Vince Wilfork vs Raheem Brock Adam Vinatieri vs Mike Vanderjagt
Wow i think your little age comment was funny, although i do have you by like 5 years. And trust me I was around the game for a long time. I have made point after point, yet you shoot them down, and go and ramble on about pointless stats, well let me tell you the truth, if you ask any NFL coach who they would rather have in an important situation, Brady or Manning, Im sure there wont be to many excited about Peyton. This is what you seem to forget, he was given the game last year against Pittsburgh several times, and still lost. And correct me if Im wrong, but Vanderjagt was actually the most accurate kicker for like the past 3-4 seasons, not Viniatieri. And you keep on about how I never give statistics and show valid points, I just ramble on about the same things, you blatently disregard the fact that Tom Brady has 3 superbowl rings and Peyton has none, and you say its more so about Bradys team than him, but if Peyton loses it should be held on someone elses shoulders, not the almighty Mannings. Look I understand, you like Peyton Manning, thats cool, but you really know nothing about the game, you would rather have a choke artist leading your team rather than a proven winner, and thats what tells me, you, not everyone else, needs to sit back and watch film of a genlteman named Joe Montana, he was Tom Brady before there ever was a Tom Brady, and then you will understand wow all the coaches on the face of the earth would take Montana to lead his team over the likes of stat king Dan Marino. Your problem is you like gaudy stats over a hard working guy who just goes out and gets the job done everyday the way you supposed too. And since you like to bitch about stats so much, give me five reasons why Peyton Manning is a better leader and a better QB than Tom Brady. |

I have never tried to "teach" you a lesson, you would take Peyton Manning if you were starting a team, thats great, I applaud you, because I would be laughing the whole time as I took Tom Brady with the next pick, you can Pay your guy 100 million dollars to choke in the playoffs, and Ill give my guy an average salary and still have three superbowl rings to put on. |

over 10,000 votes and brady still has a comanding lead. :tongue :tongue |
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
Do you still care to keep up with this argument, its sitting at 21-3 after Peyton the great threw his first touchdown pass of the night, unfortunately it was to asante samuel
|
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
BUt wait it wasn't Manning fault. The ball was over inflated. That PROVES Manning is the best QB of all time! It is obvious to everyone that Manning threw it in the right place. Asante Samuel was in the wrong place. That is a fact.
|
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
Where is the beloved Iceman now? He sure could use another fumble t.d. to the lineman right about now.

Let me guess. You went to bed in the 3rd quarter against Dallas two years ago.... |

As good as Manning is, he can't beat New England and the refs...

Dude are you serious, the refs, did they force manning to throw the ball to Samuels, and what bad calls have they made, seriously |

uh, the beloved Iceman has been pretty damn good so far, oh wait, does Peyton need another Rhodes fumble recovered for a TD by a lineman |
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
Freeze this tired ridiculous thread. Mr. Freeze choked and they lost, just as I predicted.
|
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
The iceman just got thawed out with an int. see you in Septemeber.
|
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
way to go "iceman." Can this be over for now? peyton just beat brady, and brady cost the pats the game with that pick and peyton and his team won. i know all the brady lovers will say, its just one game but whatever peyton won, brady blew it with that pick, period.

Did you say something? 32 points in the 2nd half and the game sealed by a int from Mr. Freeze. FREEZE THIS THREAD!! FREEZE THIS THREAD!! FREEZE THIS THREAD!! |

What? I can't hear you... |
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
the refs missed an obvious pass interference against the colts that would have given the patriots 1st and goal from the 1 yard line. and that roughing the passer call.that was horrible. i think it was pretty obvious the refs were told by the nfl to help pretty peyton finally get to the big show. but never the less congrats to the colts and peyton manning.

are you kidding me, if you wanna be serious about the whole thing, reche caldwell blew the damn game, but your right Brady threw the pick and lost the game for the patriots, so the fact that Brady already has won three superbowls and Peyton has finally made it to one makes Peyton better? I dont understand your logic |

I still dont understand how your arguing this, what has Peyton Manning won yet? Does he have a superbowl ring? Just because he won today doesnt make him better, he still has a lot of catching up to do if you plan on saying hes better than Brady |
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
Payton manning is a better passer while Tom Brady is a better leader. Both are fantastic QB's in their own respects and arguing this is completely useless since some people like the perfect passer and some like the stone cold nothing effects him leader.
|
you dissagree ?
All I know is the Colts won the game, and the Pats blew an 18 point lead. If what you're saying is right then a break has finally gone against the lucky Patriots. It was a unbelievable game, that's for sure! Glad the Colts have finally gotten the monkey off their back! |
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
I guess Barry Sanders must be almost worthless according to the "Brady is God, Peyton is a chump" crowd.
|
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
Man I thought this would be case closed. It almost was. Now I figure we have a legit debate. That was a pretty bad first part of the game for Manning and a Hall of Fame performance afterward. No Denying that. Manning was brilliant in the second half. It's only one game, but I have no doubt Manning has a ring now.

He just beat Mr. Freeze, that is what he won. He was better than Brady today. Mr. Freeze had several chances to "ice" the game and he blew it. I guess he isn't as great as most of the posters in this thread claim. |

I would say that by letting Branch go the Patriots management blew it since "Crazy Eyes" Caldwell shouldn't be a go to guy for anybody. |

What? Manning led his team down the field to win the game with a few minutes left. Brady had several chances to end the game and then threw an INT to end it. Better leader? |

That was a gift TD for Gaffney. There was no way he would have brought that one down. |

Your right, I will agree with you on this, Manning was the better QB today, but there has been far to many other times when Brady has been the better QB for me to say that Peyton is the superior player |

Careerwise there is no comparison (at the moment) but if the Pats think that they can win championships with Jabar Gaffney, Caldwell, and 75 year old Troy Brown, Brady will never win another. |
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
You honestly think Dan Marino is a better quarterback because of his stats?
marino had the big numbers because the dolphins never had a running game when he was there.marinio was a good qb,and sure hall of famer, but i would take favre, brady, warner, and a couple other qbs over marino any day! |

What happened to Chad Jackson, they appearently got a steal when he slid to them in the second round this year, maybe we can trade back with them so they can pick up dwayne jarret |

you are kidding, right? The pouting pats have been the luckiest team ive ever seen. A good team, ofcoarse, but ive never seen luck go to a team as much as to them, especially in the post season. |
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
That was a great game. Great to see mr. iceman thaw out. I just wish the saints had a little more today, well i guess alot more, but it looks to be a great superbowl.

Unlike last week, their luck ended up evening out. I'm not going to say the best team won, but this game could have gone either way and I'm happy with the outcome. |
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
Brady played very well today. Very efficient day, best performance of the playoffs for him so far. He didn't make the Patriots D break down.
Peyton Manning did. The ultimate outcome wasn't shocking to me, it was just a very exciting well played game. I think this goes a long way to tear down Brady's fabricated image as unbreakable and Manning's fabricated image as a choker. Both are very good QBs, and Manning's still better. He's not better because of what he did today, he's better for what he's been doing his whole career. |
Re: Tom "Iceman" Brady
Tom Brady put up 27 points offensivley. Give me a break. He is probaboly the best quarterback in football because he wins. That is all that matters. People act like they got blown out, Brady is better than probaboly any quarterback in the history of our franchise (I really can comment on Baugh/Jurgenson, so I could be wrong there), I dont understand why people hate him just because he is good. (I by the way, wanted Manning to win, but people blaming Tom Brady for this are off their rockers)
