Re: Birds Post game (Redskins 24 Cardinals 6)
I know the Cards are neither the Pats nor the Rams... But I'd like to temper this "it's only the Cards" thing a little bit:
-Last year this Arizona team had the 6th best overall defense and the 6th best run defense -David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald (27), Chandler Jones (28), Deone Bucannon and Patrick Peterson (23) are still on this team... They're not the 2016 Browns: they have 3 players on the top 100 list on their roster, we have one (TW) ... (I know, this list's a joke, but you get my point).
I don't want to hear it was only the Cards BS from anyone, not when a good portion of fans were sulking around predicting doom and gloom from this game. Anytime you go on the road especially on the west coast and kick a team's ass up and down the field all day long it's a good thing. |

Re: Birds Post game (Redskins 24 Cardinals 6)
all 7 new head coaches lost.
not trying to take anything away from a great team win, but I remember how I went to the Oakland game last year, was amazed at our team, and then with everything that happened, the team went in the dumpster. I see us as one of the NFC playoff teams, which is saying alot in the conference, but the team has to play every game CONSISTENTLY, and we haven't seen that in past years. |

After 5 straight losing openers and 4 of those under Gruden a 7-3 win against last year's Browns would have been a great start. |
Re: Birds Post game (Redskins 24 Cardinals 6)
The Cardinals aren't a terrible team. They're not good, but they're not terrible that's for sure. Robert Nkemdiche, Deone Buchanan, Patrick Peterson, these are very good players.
Here Cooley talks about their aggressiveness. They did get after us with a couple double A gap blitz looks. Smith went down against one of them. He got away from several others, and Gruden countered them beautifully with RPOs and screens to Thompson. https://www.redskins.com/video/film-breakdown-of-cardinals-aggressive-defense |

Most people felt the Cards were a very good team and the 'skins would struggle, even if they felt the 'skins would pull out the W. Now that the 'skins pretty much beat up on the Cards, the sentiment was, "Well, the Cards are an awful team!" I'm like you, I don't think the Cards are an awful team. I think the 'skins really have improved a lot and folks need to be ready for a solid 'skins team this year. |

The difference this year is we can win on either side of the ball. There will be games our offense wins for us, games our defense wins for us, and games where both play well and we win comfortably (like Arizona). 11-5 belie dat. |
Re: Birds Post game (Redskins 24 Cardinals 6)
Makes sense to bring back Quick. Too bad about the rook WRs! Hope at least one makes it back...
About "it's only the cards": Like most things, it's a bit of both. They aren't that good and we played great. Let's build on it! Winning is what matters. The big challenge is not getting complacent. Gruden has never been a great motivator, so it's gotta come from inside the team. I hope that Smith can lead, the D stays strong, and, as long as he lasts, AP brings the intensity. We NEED the Indie game--shit gets a lot tougher after that. (Am I the only one who thinks we've got a very tough schedule?) |

Glad that Cooley is "back" with a bit of film breakdowns, hope he does plenty of them here: https://www.redskins.com/video/film-room |
Re: Birds Post game (Redskins 24 Cardinals 6)
We beat the Colts I think we win at least 10.
Beat the Colts and Packers all jump in Scheed's 11+ win wagon. |

Re: Birds Post game (Redskins 24 Cardinals 6)
Per Keim, Sims to IR:
Today’s moves: Cam Sims to IR; waive LB Josh Keyes; sign WR Brian Quick and promote DB kenny Ladler off PS. |
Re: Birds Post game (Redskins 24 Cardinals 6)
Man football don't give no fucks. Sims shockingly makes the team and is probably still basking in the glow of making the team, and football gives him a big fat dick sandwich.
