The 1986 Giants were this way, if I recall. They won 14 games that year but more than half were last minute fieldgoals by Ali Haji Sheik.
what a name! |

You act like this is the only place this goes on?This is happening in every stadium ,yes, every stadium! As SS said fans feel they are entitle,it's one reason I don't go to games anymore, that and the drinking. They need to stop the beer sales at football games, you can't bring children anymore to a game. |

You can't bring kids to football games anymore not just because of the drinking but because so many "fans" are there ONLY to drink and party. Half of the people are only very minimally interested in the game and generally fools when it comes to football. They think they're there to cheer blindly and mix it up with opposing fans rather than really watch the game and care. In the games I have been to it is almost a universal truth that the fights are started by some mouthy drunk chick who is barely watching the game and who berates and taunts other people when the team she is there to barely watch has scored. The drunk people who are really into the game never cause problems really. It's the effect of the cost of attending. It's become too much and an "event" that they have to derive every last possible bit of enjoyment out of and watching the game isn't "enough" for that. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Observations on last nights game: Saints vs Falcons
In HD Mike Smith looks like hes caked with make up and I swear he used to play on Hill Street Blues. And he seems like a damn good coach. Has Terry Robiskie coached for every team in the NFL? Saints had a ton of missed opportunities. When i saw Mike Nolan in the booth I had a flash back of the Skins blowing a 35-14 2nd half lead on opening day vs Cowboys. It took 2 Rumplestiltskins and a Vegas Bomb to get rid of that image. WTF with the check down to Sproils as time expired in the first half. Jeeesh thats a mistake that the pre RGIII Skins would have done The Saints D in on pace to set the NFL record for most avg yds allowed in a season. That made me feel a little better about our D but not much. |

I know it goes on in every stadium. The fans have not always acted like this and you can blame beer but its much deeper then that. Beer is just the easy thing to blame. |

good point. It doesnt help but your right.A couple things at work: Media driven fan entitlement, basic american quality of "I dont give a sh*t about anyone but myself" and throw in an age where your basic fan believes he or she is actually part of the show or game...kinda like a social media or reality tv type thing....and there you go. |

Boy, this really comes across as ignorant, narrow-minded, myopic, offensive, stupid, etc.

Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Tattoos are so mainstream now I doubt anyone sees them as carrying a negative connotation other than this writer. Odd article.

While the guys makes some good points he also makes some dumb, unsupported points. He didn't mention that Peyton Mannings heir apparent in Denver, Brock Osweiler has two stupid tattoos under his arms/biceps. Interesting read though. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
