Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
Oh and btw, BleacherReport immediately ran a poll asking this specific question. 40% said yes/60% said no. So demanding his roster spot isnt exactly left field.

Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
Hes still on the roster.
Who are you backing now? |
Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
The Redskins, dick.

Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
We didn't need Morgan in the first place. But the smart thing to do is sit him down for a week. One play doesn't lose a game.

Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
I know it's easy to blame Morgan, but so many other plays contributed to that loss.
|
Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
I agree it was not all of Josh's fault.
I also like to add so far our FA class of 2012 has been a big dud, sans Pierre's first half last week. |
Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
Morgan, for as mind numbingly STUPID as that play was, is about 5th on the 'blame chart' for that loss. The timing of the penalty couldn't have been worse, but as someone else pointed out, his situational awareness of running towards the sidelines rather than getting up the field was worse. That set up the fact that it was a 4th down, so even if he threw the ball at an opponent it would have been dead ball, after the 1st down and we would have just lost the yardage.
The coaches (Haslett & Smith) are far more to blame, as are the refs. They were BRUTAL. Hopefully Morgan learns from his mistake. Expect Hankerson to get the start next week as a penalty. |

If anything the Rams did exactly what they needed to do by sticking to quick passes to neutralize the pass rush. Our front 7 is the strength of our defense. The secondary on the other hand is a huge weakness, which we knew going in. Also people complained about them not playing man coverage but keep in mind when they finally switched to man coverage Bradford beat us deep. The sad truth is for this defense to work we need to be able to get a pass rush going. This secondary is not good enough to play man to man coverage. |
Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
Let me put it another way. Expecting the secondary to be able to play special is like going back to last year and expecting Grossman to play like a Pro-Bolwer. For the most part its a personnel problem but one we should be able to live with if the front 7 can get their act together which is about to be very difficult considering the injuries up front.

Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
You know, we all (at least the ones who really are fans) have those moments... You know, FIRE EVERYONE, YOU ARE ALL DEAD TO ME, CUT THE KICKER, throw the remote at the wall moments...
Trick is to not post a thread at that moment ;) |

No secondary, whether man or zone, can hold up with no pass rush. And even without Rak, our front 7 should have dominated that weak Rams line. Our front 7 players should be ashamed by their performance (or lack of it) yesterday. |

How is it that they were able to keep Brees, the Saints o-line and receivers at bay? Maybe the Saints are that bad. But there were tweets by some insiders about Haslett not being good at making adjustments, and to me that kinda showed during this game. I am by no means trying to excuse the lack of talent in the secondary. But it was inexcusable to have such a poor showing in the pass rush and letting Bradford look like a hall of famer out there. |
Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
Im not blaming injury but remember this:
Rak out after 1st quarter Carriker out after 1st quarter Peirre Garcon out Brandon Merriweather out missing 4 starters killed us yesterday. injury bug has been nasty the last couple years. |
Re: Release Josh Morgan or else....
They really need to cut him. Orakpo's reaction on the sideline said it all! Moss wouldn't have done that.

They took the Lions down to the wire in week 1. I think they could be a .500 type of team, sort of like the Skins. |
