Do you think the price to trade up for Bradford would be less than RG3?

Probably yes.

I heard on sirius that Bradford was the one who convinced the coach to come there. I find it hard to believe they trade him.

I don't think he's likely to be traded. I was just saying if he was the price is probably less than what it would take to get RG3 at #2

Will Bradford make more than Luck and RG3? If so, is it better value to trade up for either of them?

Tannehill against Northwestern

[YT]Js5si7nyzSE[/YT]

Really I think this is a good example of how much he struggled during the second half of this season. He seemed to lose confidence. His ball placement is erratic, his receivers aren't getting separation, he's questioning his reads. Sometimes he takes charge of the play at the line at looks great, but he's not controlling the game like he was in his first 10 or so A&M starts. He's misreading the coverage waaay too often to be comfortable. In this game, he looks more like Osweiler, but without the ability.

I think the dysfunction at A&M this year probably caused Tannehill to develop some bad habits and make some questionable decisions, but when you compare him to a guy like Foles who played in all sorts of dysfunction the last two years and still completes 67-70% of his throws, Tannehill just doesn't grade out as a top two round guy.

He's my 7th rated QB right now, and I'm not rating Weeden (who is a better player) because of his age.

GTripp, I would like your analysis of Foles along with video if you don't mind.

While I'm trying to dig up Foles tapes, here's a couple of Osweiler's more questionable games. I actually thought he hung in pretty well against Oregon, though the Illinois tape is more bad than good. Same with Boise.

Talent is undeniable, but the actual decisions he makes are incredibly questionable.

Kellen Moore vs. Air Force

Here's one where Osweiler really threw the ball well. This is "high upside" Brock Osweiler:

Here's a loaded RGIII post with plenty of video

One more Tannehill video, this time vs. a struggling OU defense:
GTripp, I would like your analysis of Foles along with video if you don't mind.
I'll go with two Foles tapes: the game that everyone who hates Foles goes to for evidence he can't play, plus a couple of slightly more glowing ones.

Nick Foles vs. Oklahoma State

[YT]K4PV1xf9lhU[/YT]

Foles had his worst game of the season. But the only thing really notable about this game for Foles was how quickly the OSU scoreboard keeps ascending. Foles made a number of key throws in this game to keep Arizona in it until the fourth quarter, but he simply couldn't compete with a nationally ranked team.

Arizona's left and right tackles are awful football players and I don't think their receivers get much separation.

Foles gets caught guessing based on a presnap look about 3 or 4 times in the first half, leading to a negative play. He does this far less as the season progresses, but this is a tendency he showed in 2009 and 2010. I thought the OSU defense disguised their stuff pretty well, and was able to go blow for blow with Nick Foles (not that they needed to, with their offense).

Nick Foles vs. Arizona State

[YT]PmAT4QZ8_QQ[/YT]

There's an argument to be had (based on this tape and Senior Bowl work) that Foles simply needs to work faster. He processes information quickly, but if he's going to fail in the NFL it is because he doesn't get the ball out quickly enough snap to release to help his receivers.

Foles throws a lot of guys open. He has to. There is no alternative. These is not only a weak supporting cast, but a lot of these receivers he throws to are just soft football players.

To me, Nick Foles handles speed deficiencies really well. Oregon vs. Arizona and USC vs. Arizona should have been total mismatches on paper, but Foles can speed himself up or slow himself down even when the defense can play much faster than his offense. He couldn't have completed 70% of his passes against a Pac-12 schedule otherwise.

no tannehill, no weeden, please. If you sign flynn and get tannehill or whatever, fine - great.

If we get RGIII, great, but don't whiff and don't sell me on a 2nd tier guy if you can't get your guy.

and we will need a WR, whether its blackmon or bowe or whoever. I wouldn't mind flynn, bowe, claiborne, xxx, xxx, xxx, xxx I'd be estatic.

I agree, shanahan has to the choose who he feels fits well here. If he goes the weeden, tannehill, foles route and doesn't sign Flynn or get Hoyer it will be a hard sell if he starts the season with grossman or beck. So I think he either has to give up a lot of picks and move up for RG3 or either get Flynn or Hoyer then draft a QB in the second round.
