Bynum says he'll play in Game 5
If he wasn't able to come back that'd be huge as through Game 3 he'd been close to the equivilant of Perkins and Davis combined for the Celtics despite playing 10-15 minutes less a game than the 2 of them. He just adds a huge element to the Laker's interior defense that can't be ignored. (Bynum=13.3ppg/7.3reb/2.7blocks vs Perkins&Davis= 16ppg/11reb/1block) The low pt totals for Pierce, Allen, and Rondo has atleast a little to do with the fact a good portion of their shots are being contested/blocked by either Gasol/Bynum or Bryant/Artest/Fisher. I mean the Lakers are averaging almost 8 blocked shots a game!! Kobe's still averaging 28.3ppg without any really low games except game 2 where he was in foul trouble the whole game and still got 21. So anyone who follows the NBA should have a feeling we might be in store for seeing a 40pt+ kind of game from him soon. And I'm sorry "holding" a player that's a 95% jump shooter to 41% shooting is not what I'd really call successful defense as that's only 4.5% less than his season average(that's about one less made shot a game for every 20 shots taken). So as I said I'm not worried. I expected each game to be a battle because there's a reason each team made it to the finals, but I haven't seen anything in this series to make me believe the Lakers aren't the better team in this match up when all is said and done. |

I don't really care for either team, but I don't need to see Kobe and Phil win anything else, so I'm pulling for Boston. Plus Rondo is quickly becoming one of my favorite players in the game. He's so nasty. Aside from Chris Paul (coming off of serious knee surgery), I'm not sure there's any point guard in the league I'd take over him. |

Oh yeah! Great game tonight, been exciting series. Hats off to Kobe! What a game in the 3rd quarter, my dad and me where like is he ever going to miss? |
Re: NBA Playoffs anyone?
Celtics defense stepped it up a notch and Lakers defense was no where to be seen. Next 2 r at home, but everyone not named Bryant in a Lakers jersey has to stop standing around hoping Kobe will save the day and hit atleast a few shots. But that's a point Jackson is probably telling the team that despite a porous defense and no one other than Kobe scoring more than 12 points, they only lost by 6.

In real sports involving teams with point contribution from individuals, it does matter. I mean, shit we talk about it all the time in relation to the skins the last couple years haha.

Ok I hear you the Celtics will keep piling up the six point wins and the Lakers can feel good that they only lost by 6. What does the NBA Championship trophy "that we only lost by six" look like? I have never seen it. You keep using historically facts or comments like we only lost by 6 to keep making yourself believe the Lakers are going to win it but the Celtics just keep rolling. |

You know what, I will still keep believing my team can rebound from 2 tough loses on the road involving poor performances by everyone not named Bryant and use home court to win the series, because that's what real fans do. |
Re: NBA Playoffs anyone?
If the Cs are able to close things out, one word from Kobe's presser after Game 5 can be used to sum up why the Cs won....."them".
The Cs are a true team that have completely bought in, the Lakers are about Phil & Kobe and their legacies, not team. |

I didn't jump off the wagon I simply predicted the Lakers to win but still cheered for the C's. I have been watching the C's for a long long time and I love them. I even have a Reggie Lewis rookie card still in my wallet to remember one of my favorite players. You just seem very bitter and not willing to give the C's any credit when they win. I will give the Lakers all the credit in the world if they win, I bet if the C's win you will just come back with some whinny should been; could been scenario that in your mind doesn't justify the C's winning. If being delusional is what real fans do you are on the right board! =) |

BTW- Ron Artest is killing you guys! I kill him if he played for the Celtics. what a bone head. |

If being delusional is what real fans do you are on the right board! =)
I hate the Celtics more than any other NBA team, with a close second being San Antonio, so of course I'm not gonna say positive things about them just like I don't say anything positive about the Eagles or Cowboys. That just goes against every fiber of my being. And you're right I would be bitter if we do wind up losing this series because that's how it's supposed to be if the team you hate the most wins the championship especially if it's over your favorite team. I see my comments as being a realist and I would expect to hear the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot, because we're talking about a sport where a few plays or an extra source of contribution can completely change the outcome as evident by all four of the Celtics main players contributing in the same game for the first time in the series vs just one guy on the other team. Of course I'm going to try and look at how a few plays in last night's game like that airball call or the Celtics getting that inbounds pass & layup, can change or add momentum to each team because I firmly believe both teams had a chance to get the win last night in that 4th quarter. More plays were made by the Celtics and thus they won, and I believe at home the Lakers can bounce back and get those same kind of plays in their favor. Oh and Artest is pretty much our Tony Allen. Both are in for strictly defense, an occasional rebound, and both have no business shooting the ball more than 8 feet from the hoop. Artest's bad shots are magnified because he's a starter and on the court more than Allen so he's more likely to take more shots unfortunately. |
