Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
ANd I guess Campbell could say, "He started it!"

Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
In all seriousness, JC is gone this year or next anyway. I cant see him signing a new deal with us after all we put him through.
Right on! I think this rumor is a bunch of crap. Wyche has fallen for a smokescreen and has built up an entire house of cards regarding the Redskins and Sanchez. JLC then repeated what Wyche falsely said.
JC is not quoted in the story. A source is not given. And JC didn't whine through the whole Cutler drama, but now he's uncharacteristically making demands BEFORE Sanchez is even drafted? It just doesn't sound like JC. I put as much credence in this story as I do the story, "The Redskins have signed Santa Claus to play defensive back."
Personally, I think SC would be more suited to play Center, I mean think about it: -He is always on time -He always gets the count right -He never messes up an exchange -He knows who the naughty DL's are -He has handled the rock well (ok coal but still it is a rock) -If he can get down a chimney, he surely can get through the first blocks and lay out a MLB. Now Grinch, That's who I want as my FS! |
Snyderatto has burned this bridge beyond repair in my opinion. I'm beginning to believe that Zorn might be building Campbell up to his face but tearing him down to the FO. My gut instinct with the Zorn hire was that the FO must give Campbell at least 2 years to assimilate yet another offensive system, yet it appears that in typical Snyder fashion, we are going to change up at the most important position on the team. I was convinced that Campbell would be our QB for 10 years, but nothing is ever a given with the instability this owner brings to the franchise. I will be completely disgusted if we mortgage yet more draft picks to select Sanchez.
Well even Zorn said when he was hired that new offenses every year was unfortunate for Campbell, but not an excuse. He's an NFL QB so he has to be prepared to adjust. Whether you agree or not, I don't know how sympathetic Zorn was/is to Campbell. But no one actually thinks Sanchez could be really good, or that Campbell may not reach a much higher level? I mean I'd prefer to keep Campbell for at least one more year. But it's interesting how almost everyone is convinced that we're ruining everything by taking Sanchez. |

Are you really surprised though? The sky falls for Skins fans on a regular basis. |
Can't have it two ways. Either your happy the team makes no moves in the off season and utilizes the draft or your happy with the DS and his wild moves in the off season. Although I liked having picks in the draft Fantasy Fooball is fun to watch also.
I'm more interested in watching the team win as many of its 16 games as possible as opposed to being interested in what moves the team is making. I don't care how exciting our player acquisition process is, I care about winning. But my comments were more general in nature. Last year we were told that Vinny would have total control over football operations, but clearly now that is not the case. Snyder drove the Cutler bus, and now he's driving the Sanchez bandwagon. We're back to the old ways, which never yielded results. |
Dude, that fossil Collins is just that a fossil and probably would get broken in half by the end of the full 16 game schedule. A 4 game stretch is nice, but a whole season it doth not make!!!!!!
I'd rather have someone who is older and wins, and actually understands what is he doing. |

I don't think a potential Sanchez move in and of itself is the problem. It's that with the Cutler push, and now this, it's clear that Dan Snyder is 100% back to his old ways of getting very involved in player personnel decisions. I don't get the logic of even considering giving up a pick package for a young QB, as good as he may be, when you already have a pretty good QB AND you have pressing needs at OT and LB. But to me that's the small picture here. The big picture is Danny boy is back. Gibbs put him in hiding for a few years, but those days are gone. I don't like Snyder making player decisions, it has rarely worked out well because he fails to acknowledge how much of a team sport football really is. |
Re: Campbell will ask for trade if Redskins draft a QB
Don't mind me, I'm just trying out my new Avatar guys. I will change it back if we do not have Mark Sanchez on our roster tomorrow afternoon.
Actually, I am moving this weekend so it may not be tomorrow when/if it were to get changed back. |

Under Gibbs I think the impression was that he was in control, but in reality Gibbs never said I'm calling the shots, he always referred to a joint decision making process with Danny and Vinny and the coaches. Perhaps we all just wanted to think Danny wasn't involved, but I'm starting to think he's been involved all along and never really took a significant step back. The presence of Gibbs just made us feel better about it. |

But it's interesting how almost everyone is convinced that we're ruining everything by taking Sanchez.
I can't speak for everyone SS, but this is why I have a problem with drafting Sanchez. I don't agree with everything we've done in the last year but it seems we were on the right course. We improved ourselves in Free Agency. Campbell improved in Zorns first year and showed glimpses of what we'd like to see. Our rookies have a year under their belts. We've identified our needs...O-Line-OLB, and DE. My own expectations were that in Zorns second year, we would get some o-line and pass rushing help in the draft, add some youth, and build on what Campbell had learned his first year. Now Sanchez may be good. Personally I think he has as much chance to join our Biggest Bust List as he does of being a good QB. And why take that chance right now? If we've identified our biggest needs as O-Line, DE, and OLB, why are we drafting a QB when it hasn't been identifed as one of our biggest needs with our #1 pick and giving up (in all likelyhood) needed draft choices to get him? It's not like he has Peyton Manning written all over him. Even Matthew Stafford is rated higher than him by most experts. If we improve our team in the draft at the positions of need and Campbell does'nt work out this year, we can always draft a QB next year and he can come to a team that is better prepared to win. Like I said, Sanchez may be a good QB, but we still have'nt addressed our positions of need if we trade away the limited amount of picks we have for him, and if he's not....which is something I think any FO should consider, what then? |

Well how does anyone even know if this is Snyder or Zorn who says JC is not the QB to lead this team? I have watched just about ever snap that JC has taken and while he is an OK QB he has not shown me anything to say he is the man to lead this team. I don't think many will argue that Zorn knows the QB job and thats why I'm thinking this is coming more from him then Snyder. Heck last year I saw more from several rokie QB's that impressed me alot more then anything that JC has done. I was at the Giant game two years back when they beat us around game 3 or 4 and then went on to win the SB. That game in my opinion was lost because JC dumped off pass after pass when he had guys wide open 15 to 20 yeards down field. It did not happen ones or twice but more like 8 to 10 times and even my wife asked why he was not throwing to the guys wide open down field. I just think that JC has a problem with locking onto a WR in alot of games but then in the next game he will see the whole field. |

Seems that people think Zorn is vacationing on some island while everything is happening and he has no input in anything. Zorn isn't Steve Spurrier. He's very involved. |
